  1. I have a big tackle bag that holds 5 3700 boxes, plus has pockets with plenty of room for a bunch of soft plastics and other odds and ends. Honestly though, I think it's too big for a lot of the places I fish. It's a burden to lug it back and forth as you walk to different spots along the lake. And I sometimes feel like it is holding me back because I don't want to leave it sitting somewhere and wander too far away when I'm fishing a public lake. I'm thinking of downsizing to a very small tackle box or bag. It may not have every single thing I could ever need. But it could have quite a few different options, and make me much more mobile which I think is important for bank fishing.
  2. Are we to assume that all of the baits would be the same color, or that they are the colors shown in the picture?
  3. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/135534-st-croix-premeir-and-pflueger-president-combo-opinions/
  4. I use crankbaits year round. I think of jerkbaits as more of a cold water technique.
  5. I don't have any experience with that combo. But I think the guy you talked to was just a jackass
  6. It sounds like a great combo to me. Whether you want 6'6" or 7' is personal preference.
  7. Just to clarify, you're saying the problem is just getting the knot tied to the spool in the first place? And you're not even getting to the point where you're trying to reel the line on??
  8. I don't know if it's "right" but I've done it before too, and it works.
  9. I have used a variety of different knots. Everything from an improved clinch knot, down to a simple double overhand knot. Never really had any issues.
  10. ^^^Good point. You can actually get on the conservation department's website and view a list of areas they own/manage in each county. I have several new places picked out here in Boone county that I plan to try in the near future.
  11. I thread mine on. I haven't used chunks yet, but I plan to try them and I was planning to thread them on too. This is an interesting idea though.
  12. So you're in the St. Louis area? I haven't done much fishing around there. But, since you mentioned Mark Twain, I hear really great reports about the crappie fishing there. I haven't fished there myself in a long time though.
  13. You broke it the first time using it? What happened? Was it on a hookset? If it broke during normal usage, I think BPS will probably take it back no problem.
  14. Thanks. That makes sense. I was kind of wondering about CTgalloway21's order though, if there was any rhyme or reason to some having the options and some not, especially the wire tie part.
  15. I'm just curious since I'm planning a future order already and there are so many options to choose from.. How did you decide which lures to add wire tie and/or eye option to? I was planning to add wire tie to all of my jigs and spinners when I make and order, and maybe eyes too. I just can't make up my mind.
  16. Squarebills are my favorite.
  17. Necessary? No. I caught plenty of fish on crankbaits on a MH/F spinning rod when I was first starting out. But if you decide to expand your rod and reel arsenal to technique specific setups, you'll definitely want to get one, IMO.
  18. That's correct, and swapping them seems to have solved the problem! Apparently at one point last night I misplaced and/or mismatched the spacers. It was just a matter of removing one and leaving the correct one on. Thanks to everyone who responded!
  19. Thanks. I'll try switching the spacers later.
  20. Well, I was able to spool it up. And, though less extreme, it is still noticeably uneven. And I think it might cause me problems when I try to fish with it. I may have to have it serviced.
  21. Thanks. There were indeed 2 washers. Going to try spooling it again after dinner.
  22. Pflueger Patriarch 9530. The funny thing, that I should have mentioned in my OP, is that I put 4 lb fluoro on the spare spool last night with no problem. And now I'm tying to put 8 lb mono (which is what was on it previously) on the main spool and it's not working.
