Skunked again

Silver lake yesterday. Caught more of those lil ones than ever before. Had several 1.5-2#. one at 3.5#, and the beast at 5#. Also an 11" crappie. All but one on a broken back rapala in firetiger. Had one 2# on a 10" worm, while teaching myself to pitch keeping reel in left hand, I'm right handed. Only had one after lunch. That's also when the showers stopped. 5# lil bit

One of our lakes was recently opened up for non-motorized boats. They've been putting the hurt on the fish! I'm waiting to see how many are out there when trout season opens .

I'd be in the obituary if I tried to drag her out of bed at 0300!

Was out Tuesday morning and Wednesday, a2.5 square bill in sexy shad was the ticket, in the afternoon. Have never thrown that bait much. Nothing else was working, I mean nothing. Only had 1 keeper, several shorts, funny how 1 short fish can change your mindset. It's amazing how finicky I am with "confidence" baits. This will probably be my new go to bait! Guess I need another day like that for spinnerbait s !!

Gotcha. My wife is on the same line. Although she did get in the "nasty" water, cringed the whole time. Gotta love em.

Also, if sent to a lab, the testing process is approximately a week before you get results. Their is a test kit that gives results in about an hour, though it is very subjective.

I would go! Will be less people their. Went to a lake that had this last summer, it was great, very little traffic. Was not good for the local vendors that where dependent on summer revenue. Personally I think their making a mountain out of a mole hill. One of the oldest life forms on the planet, and we're just now making a big deal of it. From the world health organization, to the federal EPA, and state EPA's, none can agree on what levels (and for what length of time) are dangerous. At what point do we cease all activities and walk around in bubbles?

Yall are making me feel very grateful for living "down south"! Carlyle is 35 minutes away. Coffeen 45 minutes. Kincaid or shelbyville 1 hr 45 minutes. Washington county lake 1hr 15 minutes. Oh yeah, silver lake, 9 minutes. I stay off the big lakes on weekends and holidays !!!

Kincaid lake Cabins are on the north side of lake hill Rd. If you want something different and less crowded, go to Washington county lake. South of Nashville il.

Boydn1 : there are cabins you can stay at for Kincaid. Call the marina, that's how you book them. Do not remember what we paid for it. Their not actual cabins, more like trailers. Stayed in one 2 or 3 years ago. Had two bedrooms, two showers and two crappers, kitchen. Electric outlets outside also. Look on Google earth, if I remember right, there south of the marina and public boat ramp. I think there's a hotel/motel in murphysboro, and some eating joints, only about 5 miles south of the lake.

After seeing your pictures, I really need to teach myself how to fish offshore.

Junk fisherman: I'm 30 minutes east of st Louis, heading to Wisconsin would take all day to get their. I would love to go their to fish . Not practical for a day trip. Nice_bass : what is your style ? Depending on what ramp I use, the lakes are both about the same distance for me, both about 1.5 -2 hrs away. I like to throw cranks first and jig/worm second. I have cheap graphs on my boat, so more than likely I'll be pounding the banks. Thank you all for the replies.

Anyone fish Kincaid or shelbyville for bass? Thinking about one of those two next week.

I like the face wrap, is it more comfortable that any of the different types of sun blocking hats? Ie, wide brim, the hat with the tails, etc

Markho24, ever use musky jerkbaits for bass? They work!. Your right , people look at you funny, until you land a keeper.

Slonezp - Good thing were not drinking, or you'd get drunk playing catch-up! Been skunked bout ½ my trips this year. That's a Pretty boat. Cleaned mine up the other day to sell it. Questioning why now. Pulled all my crap out of it also. I carry WAY to much stuff. Markh024 - as expensive as those lures are, I'd be afraid to throw them!!

You caught a 15" lm, and a 18" smallie? In 3hrs, and you weren't trying??? I'd save the money on a front unit!!?

Good report. Will that rod/reel be a new weightless worm rig ? Lube it up, rig it up! Was given two spinning rod combos awhile back. Not the best, lubed them both, restrung them. Caught fish. They stay in the boat. Can't beat free.
