  1. Any free time is fishing. i don't saltwater fish nearly as much as i used to. i used to be on the beach 4-5 nights a week. and i would bass fish a few times a week in during the down time with saltwater. ever since i got into the bass scene seriously i fish on average 6 nights a week and saltwater fish maybe once a week when the bite is good. it's funny i live on long island where some of the best saltwater fishing occurs and i choose largemouth over striped bass, bluefish, fluke, flounder, tuna shark, etc. lol
  2. McCoy mean green mono. best mono i have ever used for bass fishing. I was a die heard trilene guy until i used this stuff
  3. I use spinning for all my worm fishing in fact i use spinning for 90% of my fishing. I just never liked the baitcaster.i fish 8-10lb mono the majority of the time and if i'm fishing real heavy stuff i will use braid. I have pulled some big fish out of heavy cover with mono.
  4. I have my "favorite" rod i use more then others but that is mainly because i generally use one specific technique then others. one rod for bass fishing just won't do it. If i had to narrow it down i probably could get away with 3 rods
  5. same as every year. shimano reels and st. croix rods. i also use a falcon for cranks and topwater
  6. no leader, no sharpie. i use green power pro
  7. stuck a 6 1/2lber in mid 50 degree water last week on a 5" spook
  8. i love the 4" kalins or berkley powerbait grub
  9. i don't buy into the whole theory the big fish are only off shore in deep water. I have found large females with the males. try throwing big baits and you have a better shot at the bigger females.
  10. I would throw a spook.
  11. I killed the bass on this bait a few weeks ago. I fish it the exact same way as a super fluke. Make sure you use a heavy enough rod and use braid.
  12. I love my symetre fj's. the new FL's look nice. If i could do it all over again i would save up and buy all stradics.
  13. I still use mono (trilene XL) for texas rigs and really light finesse fishing . Everything else is braid. Tried fluoro and i will never use it again
  14. If it comes with a split ring I leave it. I can't think of any spooks that come with them though
  15. who makes the best 1/8 or 1/4oz swim jig? i am looking to try these at night in the same places i would swim a grub with an 1/8oz head. What type of trailers do guys find most effective on swim jigs? thanks in advance
  16. Owner St-36. Hands down best trebles I have ever used for bass fishing
  17. Zoom baits, falcon rods, st croix (except mojo and triumph)
  18. 2500/3000 shimano symetre. I own several symetres and i have been very happy with all of them
  19. any time of the year. they have been working well for me the past few weeks. water ranging from 40-50 degrees
  20. deeper water with rattle baits (rat-l-trap, red eye shad, etc.)
  21. Rattle traps, spinnerbaits, buzz baits, poppers, spooks. It really depends on the time of year
  22. get rid of the leader. i never understood why people use a heavy braid and lighter leader (example: 50lb braid 12lb leader), it defeats the purpose of the heavy braid. the only time i could see myself using a leader is around rocks and even then i would most likely not be fishing braid. fish either straight braid or straight mono/fluoro. bass are not line shy
  23. palomar. the only knot i will use.
