Easiest To Use Walk The Dog Top Water Bait ?
I'm a spook guy. All sizes for both largemouth and smallmouth. If it ain't broke don't fix it. I use The old florescent purple Stren mono for my spooks. Cast a mile easy to walk it floats and you can see it well.

Cold Tonight, Breezy Tomorrow. Dare I Go Out?
Get a drift sock. This is a great piece of equipment that I always keep in my yak and has saved the day many times. Also make an anchor trolly using pulleys and ropes hooked to the front and back handles. This works great when anchored and using the drift sock for being in the right spot. I gave you a little homework but it will pay off in more fish and time spent on the water. I hope this helps. Good luck! http://www.amazon.com/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=kayak+drift+sock&tag=googhydr-20&index=aps&hvadid=33030323288&hvpos=1t2&hvexid=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=4994440911628033235&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=b&hvdev=t&ref=pd_sl_924eukn1zs_b

Mixing Scents To Kvd Coffee (Pro-Cure, Anise, Craw, Etc.)
If sticky grind some salt really fine ( you can use a blender for this) put a little in the bag and shake. It will keep the coffee scent and won't be sticky.

My Livetarget Lures
The field mouse is the only hollow body top water I throw. I was wondering how the bait ball lures work from LT but have yet to pick one up.

What To Bring....
We are open here in Philadelphia and fishing the cold water period. I would Think you could find some fishable water where you are going. All the baits you are taking are great but Don't forget my favorite cold water bait a Jerkbait. Specifically a LC Pointer 78 in chartreuse shad. Good luck out there! And yes New Jersey is considered in the northeast corridor of the country.

Salt Impregnated Plastics ?
Sometimes a technique calls for a salted bait and sometimes it doesn't. Both work and have their place. You have to try diffrent ways of fishing and figure out what bait works better a couple of examples would be weightless senko you would want salt in a bait and Drop shot or Shakey head you would not because you would want the bait to float off the bottom. ( in most cases) Not sure if fish hold on longer to salt or not so I'm always quick to set the hook because they don't cost much on the lakes and rivers I fish. Today they wanted a salty spider.

What's Been The Ticket For You Lately?
I've been trolling an 8 inch hole with and 1/12 ounce castmaster. I've been hitting them pretty good with a run and gun strategy. If I'm not catching them I fire up the engine and walk 10 to 12 feet to the next hole. My power pole broke so I got a new one from Dick's for 14 bucks. This one is green and folds up nicely. We saw some fisherman and thought they were casting to breaking fish but when we got closer they were eating hot dogs from a grill. The water is very cold right now I would go as far as to say icey. My buddy being a religious fellow and having a few to many beers though he actually saw a person walk on water. We actually kind of beleive him knowing how faithful he is. Anyway sorry for rambling and I hope this report helps.

Skunkin
I keep trying to find a pattern while fishing so I like every technique I use and just don't stick to one. If I'm not catching fish on a certain technique I'm changing and changing again. I'm looking at my electronics and using the knowledge I've learned each time I go fishing, here, talking to other fisherman and reading on the net and in books. If at the end of the day I'm skunked I'm happy that I gave it the college try and in the knowledge that that God willing the sun will come up tomorrow so I can give it another try.

Norman Speed Clips
What do you guys think about these while fishing cranks and top water? I picked up a pack to try and have read mixed reviews. Some guys love them and some guys say they lose lures and fish because of malfunction. They look like they would be an advantage if you change baits often, somthing I may not be doing enough of because of having to re-tie all the time. Thank for the info.

Craw Colored Spinnerbait
I am finishing up organizing my tackle and came across a red craw patterned spinnerbait from strike king. I think this will work well after ice out. I crush on craw traps and square bills early in the spring. Anybody use this color and have info. they can share?

Jj's Magic Dip
I always dip my baits in the garage and put into bags right before a fishing trip. I don't have to worry about spills that way.

Not So Confident With Jerk Baits
All good info. I will add 2 tips. 1. If you are not fishing them with slack in your line you are not fishing them correctly. Meaning use the rod to jerk the bait not the reel. 2. While pausing the bait twitch it a little sometimes this is all it takes to get bite. Go get em!
