Best casting braid for hollow bodied frogs
40lb power pro super slick for me works well. With frog fishing i am rarely concerned with distance because long range hooksets are not as productive for me.

Headlamps night fishing
I have been using a petzl tikka for years and am very happy. It is light weight, crazy good battery life and i am not a fan of the over the head strap. I will usually leave my headlamp around my neck like a necklace. it isn't the best for long distance light but i rarely if ever need that capability anyways.

NBA Playoffs
I am not sold on GS but it also may be i am partially based to their exploitation of the rule changes. I mean you can't defend with an arm anymore, you can play zone defense, they cater to stars etc.... I still think Curry is overrated and in no way shape or form should have been the first and only unanimous MVP in NBA history.

NBA Playoffs
Spurs could beat GS if Leonard didn't go down. The minute he went out they went on a what, 18-0 run?

NBA Playoffs
LeBron doesn't even look like he is working hard either....i have been following the NBA for 30+ years and he is the best player i have seen play.

NBA Playoffs
Maybe more international players were filling out rosters but that was also due to the expansion of the league. I know now there are more international players than ever in the league. I also completely understand the financial implications and reasoning behind many of the one and done players and I have no issue with it at all. It does impact the league though and that was my point. This is really an NBA issue since they changed that kids can't come in right away. I think they should do it like MLB does. Either you go in right away or you have to play 2 years of college or turn 21 before going in the minors. If a kid wants to go pro at 18 he should be able to do so. Historically speaking, international players bust more frequently than straight out of high school players too. As far as Calipari goes, that guy has left a trail of slime everywhere he has been. Don't kid yourself and think he has the best interests of those kids in mind, he is thinking about himself and that is about it.

NBA Playoffs
It has always been that way in the NBA, it is nothing new. Difference is the expansion in the late 80's/early 90's watered down the talent pool even more. Combine that with the players playing virtually no college ball and you are looking at teams with more developing players on their roster than ever before when it used to be a late pick was your development player, not a lottery pick.

Kayak questions
Do a search as there are a bunch of posts about this already. What i will say is find a shop that has demo boats available and try as many as you can before you buy. There is a learning curve but that will be over in short order if you get out enough. I have been fishing out of a kayak for 10+ years and I will say buy a decent boat first, doesn't have to be some 2k pedal drive beast either, and you will be happier in the long run and not feel the need to upgrade. There are so many good boats out there now to choose from that you really can't go wrong....also factor in a paddle, PFD and how you are going to transport the kayak into your budget.

ATAK140 or LURE13.5
I only paddled the Lure during a demo days (wasn't impressed) but have owned the ATAK 140 for 2+ seasons now and it is an outstanding boat. I can easily paddle at 3.5-4 MPH, it tracks pretty well, is the most stable boat i have owned or paddled.

Trailer Mounted Retractable Tie Down
How tight do they get? I am thinking they would be awesome mounted on the trailer i use for my kayak but i would need a decent amount of tension on them to make sure the kayak wouldn't slip.

School Me on Investing
Dividends are a huge thing for sure. It is something i look for in specific stocks that may or may not even increase substantially over time but having a large dividend makes up for that pretty quickly.

School Me on Investing
You are far from an idiot, I wish i had starting saving and investing at your age. Talk to a financial advisor at your bank and get yourself into some sort of IRA and just let it sit there. I read a statistic somewhere that basically said if you put 1k away a year from 18-22 and let it sit and compound interest and then do the same from 40 till you retire, you will ahem more money from those first 4 years. Look at mutual funds that fit your long term investment desires and have minimal fees as they can impact your overall return. Go to the bank where you have your 7k and see if they have an advisor you can talk to and at least get you started down the right path.

What do you do for a living?
Just started by second career after 10 years as a process engineer for a major bank. I am now a 1st grade teacher and I pretty much enjoy going to work every day.

Millionaire Bass Angler
i wonder how the OP is doing....my first question after reading his initial post was why because you are in nY would your plans have to be dormant? I guess his plans only involve southern states and their tournaments.

Kayak Bass Fishing National Championship
I wonder if the time would have been spent if that recent drama hadn't happened though about the scoring from last year and that scoring from last year i believe impacted the winner and some money spots. If you tout having the biggest tourney you need to have the infrastructure to back it all up.

Kayak Bass Fishing National Championship
As many of you are aware and may have even competed in the Kayak national championship was this past weekend. Prior to the tournament there was as always, the normal Facebook banter about various rigs and setups etc. I brought up a concern that I wouldn't compete in an event where motorized craft (torqueedo is a huge sponsor of the event) and pedal drives were in the same class as paddle craft. Of course hilarity ensued with people saying it doesn't matter, it is the angler etc...I also had a few of the people in charge or high up on the tournament food chain rip me, which is fine. I made it known that the lack of divisions was also primary reason i wouldn't compete and the way the administration handled criticism was also a concern to me as a potential competitor. I am pretty sure a pedal drive angler won this year as well... Post tournament there was also about a 2 day delay in posting al the results. I also said that i thought that was extreme and should be corrected, especially given the $250 entry fee. I was met by the normal KBF mafioso and i left it at that. There has been a lot of additional drama as well that i left out but it isn't hard to find if you are interested.... So i guess my questions are to the group are: What are your thoughts on pedal/motor/paddle being the same division? How quickly would you think that all the results should be posted after the tourney finishes?

Beginner fly outfit
If targeting solely panfish i would go even lighter myself. 4wt or even a 3wt will be like ultralight fishing and is a complete blast when a bass takes your foam spider

Rustoleum Bed Liner
I have seen guys use truck liner in lieu of carpet on the interior of their boats and it seems to have worked well.

Teacher of the Year
Congrats man!! getting to know your students is huge. The school I teach at is all free or reduced lunch and these kids are striving for attention and acceptance. You made that connection and it is obviously paying off. Keep it up and hopefully I can post the same thing one day
