  1. that is a big bowfin....i want to catch one like that on my fly rod
  2. guess you didn't read any previous posts......
  3. Norman got paid......and her people thought the skins were being wise and not going to spend a lot of money and build a champion from within....now all i hear is awesome signing and gotta use the money somewhere lol the skins should have learned from the eagles that paying a CB is usually not a good move, especially one with only a good season or two
  4. Update on the trailer.... So i finally got around to putting it together last night and things went relatively well with a few minor snafus. They forgot one set of load bar brackets that hold the cross bars in, which sucks because i can't really use it without them, they switched the sides for the wires to the taillights, easy fix but took about an hour and when packaging it up, the spray foam they used as cushioning got on to the rear cross member. So i called them up about the bracket as soon as i found out and talked to a guy i had been emailing and he is gonna send them part out right away and for my trouble, he will send me a jack stand and a grab handle free of charge. After sending that email, I noticed the trailer wiring was wrong so i snapped a quick picture and then fixed it by just undoing the hangers and swapping the sides. Sent him a quick email to say hey, I ran into this issue so you might want to double check whoever is putting these together prior to shipping and i have to admit i was kind of concerned about having these issues. I also asked about how to get the spray foam off and what they recommended. His response was to send a picture so he could keep it for his quality control purposes and then he addressed the spray foam. he basically said he had some new people in his shipping department and that to be honest, the foam is a pain to get off and if you do get it off, the trailer might not look exactly the same color do to some slight discoloration that would not impact the trailer at all other than aesthetically. He gave me two options, they would ship me out a new frame and then i would ship back the one i already have or i could live with the possible discoloration and they would send me a spare tire free of charge along with the brackets, jack stand and grab handle for my inconvenience. I went with the spare tire option, I can deal with a little discoloration since it is gonna get beat up eventually anyways. So basically because of some slight hassle i had i am basically going to have every option they have available on a trailer for free. I have to say that i wasn't expecting any of the free items and wouldn't have even asked but it was a nice gesture on their part and if their trailer holds up as well as their customer service, I have no concerns about being happy with it for a long, long time. Does tick me off though since i was hoping to use it this weekend but i guess one more weekend won't hurt....
  5. i see all the people saying it is going to take 5 years or 10 years if the QB is a bust. Does anyone realize that we had one of the top rated passers for the last few weeks of last season, no matter who we draft? This team is poised to handle a setback if this is a bust but we won't even know if they are a bust or not for 2-3 years minimum. You also have to consider that Bradford is ticked at the move and now will do his best to prove that he should be the starter....which will up his trade value which may recoup some of the picks traded away. Plenty of teams are bad for 10 years without making trades or drafting busts. I am not too concerned with the rebuild time as we have been treading water at the QB position since McNabb was traded and without quality at the position, we will continue to tread water so might as well go for it....
  6. I actually am one of the few Eagles fans who doesn't have a problem with the trade. If Roseman feels the guy they want at QB is going to be there for 10+ years then the price paid isn't too much. You can't win without a solid QB and we haven't had a great one since McNabb was traded. This trade allows Wentz/Goff to sit at least one maybe even two years, depending on how Bradford does, and then come in and not be in a horrible situation. The eagles have the majority of their top players signed for a few years and their only starter that is at 30 is peters. Could this trade be a complete bust, sure but your chances of drafting a top QB is exponentially increased the higher up they are chosen. All this being said, ask me again in three years and my answer may be a little different
  7. foam blocks and straps is the cheapest. If you have factory racks then just strap it down and call it good. Get a decent rack system if you don't have a factory rack and you won't have any worries. Losing a kayak, which happens more often than you think, will cost a whole lot more than a rack system.
  8. wow this is deep....i just thought it was funny that people get tired cranking a fishing reel
  9. I do think that cabelas carries the Lund brand which bass pro doesn't....
  10. You are in a boat that is inches off the water so you will get wet. Not saying you will get soaked every time out but you will get wet for sure. For me, I will take a SOT any day of the week over a SINK. SOT self drains and are generally more stable. I also prefer the rigging options and flexibility a SOT can offer. I don't have experience with either of those kayaks so i can't speak to them specifically.
  11. It is days like yesterday where i wished i had a garage...I have 6 boxes sitting waiting to be open and a trailer waiting to be assembled....hopefully tonight i can get to it.
  12. Maybe i am callous but whenever i see a first post like this, I can't help but think this person is trying to boost a "fishing resume". I hope I am wrong but like you said, preaching to the choir.
  13. also take a look at the twin troller.... http://freedomelectricmarine.com there are a lot of electric only lakes around here and i am thinking about getting one of these for me and my son to use since he could fish more easily than in my kayak.
  14. it will be interesting to see if they close stores because around here at least, Cabelas has different section than bass pro and seems to focus more on the hunting side of the house where bass pro is more fishing. Guess we will see, especially since they just opened a new cabelas here about 2 weeks ago lol
  15. I did but it rusted out and the tongue broke. I currently have 6 boxes that were delivered today which is my new trailer that i need to put together before the weekend So i will be back to trailering it in no time and hopefully never have to cartop it again....
  16. i prefer them on my 3wt and they are a blast. When the spawn is on, i try and take newbies out because you can literally catch a fish on every cast. I caught a fish on 38 consecutive casts once and i know a bunch were caught more than once too.
  17. whenever i am fishing from the bank i plan to get in the water. ponds not quite as much but any creek or river it is pretty much a given for me. I don't think i have ever went in to free a bait though now that i think about it....
  18. i used it inshore quite a bit at the OBX but it was no different than a large lake really. I also took it out in the ocean from the beach a few times but the water was very calm, maybe 2-4' swells at best. I know Wildy makes a thresher too which is more designed for offshore applications. I want to say my paddle is a 250 but i am not sure, it has been so long since i bought it but next time i pull out the paddle i will take a look. Paddle length will vary though based on your paddle stroke and height anyways. It is a wide boat so a longer paddle is generally needed.
  19. I have one and of the 5 boats i have owned, it is my favorite boat. The stability is top notch and the flex pod was a huge factor in my purchase. It is the easiest boat to stand in I have owned or tested. The seat is nice as well. Car topping is more about technique than strength and i have found that taking off the front hatch makes it balance more easily. I am currently loading mine on top of a wrangler and i am about 5'11" to put things in perspective. As far as big water goes, I have taken it out in mild ocean off the beach and it did ok. Speed is also good and it does handle the wind nicely. As far as what i don't like, it isn't super maneuverable but you can paddle it pretty easily at a 4mph clip. The weight can be a factor as well. One thing i have also noticed in my time owning the boat is that depending on where you have your seat located, it can make the boat track poorly while drifting. Nothing crazy but it is noticeable. Overall, i wouldn't hesitate to get another one and if the rumor mill is correct in that a 12' version is in the works, i may get one of those too for river use.
  20. Maybe so but in his case, one of the sleaziest agents in the business dropped him. That says a lot.
  21. except Gordon was great in the NFL, Manziel never was even average
  22. Cash deals are easy but the business doesn't make as much money...at least they didn't when i sold cars.
  23. i don't care who won, it doesn't change the fact that having a pedal drive or motor driven kayak is an advantage.
  24. There are a lot of areas that are wadable in the harrisburg area on the susky. Just find a boat launch (there are a ton) and check them out.
