Summer Jerkbait
i haven't because i usually go with a soft jerk bait like a fluke or something instead due to the grass. One lake i do frequent the grass isn't nearly as bad this year so i think i may just give it a try next time out and see what happens.

Pb Blaster....replacement??
So as i was working on the trailer i picked up to haul around my kayak i went to my local big box store to get some PB blaster to soak the rusty nuts and bolts with like i do on any project. It has served me well over the years in many different uses but especially when i was working on my old Jeep. I go to the shelf and they are sold out of my beloved PB blaster. I had to make a quick decision and went with the WD-40 rust release penetrant. I was very skeptical because i am not a fan of WD 40 anything but it was all they had. Well after using it I can say it works as good if not better than PB blaster and will be getting it again should the need arise.

What A Kayak Setup!
seems like he could have spent all that time rigging fishing instead. I know he said it doesn't impact the capability of the boat but with a 450lb capacity that set up has to add 100lbs. I mean for that much work, i would get a jon boat myself. i want to see him launch the boat and how long it takes to set everything up each time out.

What Do I Need To Know Before Buying A Fishing Kayak?
I have never tipped any of my kayaks but I have bailed off of two times. both were my fault and could have been avoided. I am not a fan of leashes on any of my gear as it is just another thing to get tangled up both while fishing and in an emergency situation. A hybrid boat would also be a great choice for the situations you mentioned and they come up on the used market pretty often. I sold my wilderness systems commander 120 a little over a month ago and sold it for an amount in your price range. most of the boats i know of that have standing capability are near the top of your price range or slightly above. Once you figure out a few boats you are interested in, keep your eyes peeled on craigslist because boats come up there often but they sell fast.

First Day Of Student Teaching On Monday...
thanks man i truly appreciate it. I made this career change to help make a difference and part of me is wondering if i have the experience to handle a tough school right out of the game but at the same time, nothing else in my life i waited till i was "ready", i just jumped in with both feet. These kids though come from backgrounds and experiences that no kid should have but maybe, just maybe i can offer some sort of stability in an otherwise crazy life.

What Do I Need To Know Before Buying A Fishing Kayak?
Wow, loaded question. First i would say do a search on here as there are loads of posts that can help you along you journey to getting your first kayak. Here are a few things to think about: - budget and include in there money for both a paddle and PFD. Kayaks can run as little as $250 for a walmart job up to 3k plus for a top of the line pedal drive type - sit on top or sit inside-most go sit on top for the ease of entry and self bailing capability -seat comfort-this is key -features-is speed a concern or standing a higher priority-raised seats help to lessen the need for standing in my opinion -transportation-are you car topping, have a trailer or a truck-carhopping may require the addition of a rack to your current vehicle As far as your other questions go, fishing out of a kayak is different but easily learned. I don't find myself at any disadvantage than someone in a boat with the exception of covering long distances and deep water boat positioning. Best thing to do is find a local shop and go check them out and especially demo some boats and you will learn what you are wanting pretty quickly. good luck and feel free to ask more questions as there are quite a few kayakers on this board.

First Day Of Student Teaching On Monday...
just another update... I have had three interviews, all city schools. Two i really liked and one i wouldn't want to teach there unless it was my only option. The one school is probably the worst in the city and the other isn't far behind. I have a second interview tomorrow and then 2 more interviews on thursday in a different district. All my teacher friends told me that once the calls started it would be a busy time and they were right. After thursday, i will have had more interviews in the past two weeks than my previous 15 years. Hopefully a few offers are made and i can then sit back and make some decisions on where i want to teach next year.

Do You Guys Ever Need A Break From Fishing?
Not really. I do get tired of specific species or areas or techniques so i just switch it up. Some days i will go out with only the fly rod, other days i will chase smallies, other days i will go after sunnies etc...It has been a long time since i was able to fish more than a day or two a week so for me, life gets i noted way enough as it is that i don't need a break.

Pretty cool. What are the criteria for the award? VA has some crazy stuff to get one of their master angler awards so i am curious if this is similar.

Project Kayak Trailer Begins Today..
Backing up the thing is a beast, especially since i can't see it at all. I have a pole on order that should be here next week. Luckily i have a big driveway so i just pulled it straight in and then turned it around in the driveway. It will take some practice for sure but all in due time. Hopefully this week i can test it out.

Project Kayak Trailer Begins Today..
well, she is pretty much done. I am going to have a rack built at some point that will sit up above the bunks and allow me to use it for occasional utility use and carrying multiple kayaks if needed. Gonna get it registered tomorrow and see how it does. I also need t decide if i want to put on the winch at the front or not because it will take some modification if i want to use it along with redoing the wheels on the trailer but i figure that can wait for a little while.

What Is Up With The Phillies..
So my Phillies were horrendous to start the season and were 30 games under .500 at the all star break, 29-62. Post break they are 40-64 and about to win again tonight. Their offense has woken up after trading their best pitcher, best closer, their manager resigning and getting rid of various other players. Howard has been playing very well post all star break too which i have always said, the offense goes however he goes. I like seeing them win but it scares me that they may think this is Amaro's doing and keep him on after his contract ends this season.

The Patriots game balls were tested first. Each of the eleven Patriots balls tested measured below the minimum allowable pressure of 12.5 psi on both of the two gauges used. Reasons To Bass Fish From A Kayak
i do just as well i na kayak as i did when i fished a bass boat regularly. Maybe i am just a little further along in the game than you are but i don't really run into the same issues with the exception of boat control but there are ways around that. As far as feeling bites and getting solid hook sets when frogging, I see no difference. I have a boat i can stand in and i do in certain scenarios but for the most part i am sitting in the raised seat position and have no issues. if anything when fishing contact baits i feel the bottom more just because of the different angle of the line and being closer to the water. My last kayak purchase i could have saved up a little more and bought a really good boat set up for the electric only and limited HP lakes around here but i like to kayak and i like to fish out of my kayak so that is what i do. There are a ton of lakes around here that are electric only and HP restricted so that benefits me, it spreads out boat traffic and i am not fight with larger boats or dealing with wakes all day.
