I am just getting into using my electronics like I should and i can say that while I am looking at my screen a lot, I am also not wasting time casting where there aren't any fish. Sure I will pick apart a piece of cover like a blowdown even if i can't see anything on my fish finder but if i am cruising along, i am looking for fish and then marking them off and coming back to fish them later on.

Ever since I bought my smoker I just can't eat any BBQ out anymore unless I am traveling. It is pretty easy to have great results at home, just takes some time.

So i went out fishing this past saturday and everything was working fine but then as I was paddling across the lake, my screen suddenly got foggy like some moisture got behind the screen. The unit is kept inside and the only water it has been exposed to was a downpour i was stuck in the week before. From what I have read, the unit is waterproof so this shouldn't be happening. It did clear up in a few hours and it was still working fine the entire time. I am just wondering if i should return the unit or if any of you have had this same problem. I'll post a picture later on when I get home.

It is all a marketing gimmick. I have been kayak fishing for a long time and haven't had any issues with non kayak rods and now especially with the advent of raised seat positions it isn't much different than being in a traditional boat. I wonder if they will come out with the jon boat rod or maybe the deep V rod or the fiberglass rod...

I use a kayak but i have seen some pretty slick set ups for all the electric only lakes around here. One guy even had 2 of the electric outboards from torqueedo on the back and that thing was hauling.

I plan on adding some cross bars on the top in phase two that will allow for at least two kayaks Now i just need to learn to back this short thing up....can't see it behind me in he jeep at all, so visibility poles are definitely in order

Started removing rust today and things are going well. Hopefully have it stripped and painted this weekend and then repack the hubs and fix the lights and get it registered next week

Problem is history has shown that the more you put the ball in Romo's hands, the less likely they are to win. Which being an Eagles fan, is perfectly fine with me.

I am actually more worried about the Giants than anyone else in the division. On paper they always look to be having troubles but this is about the time that they somehow pull it together. The skins won't be the normal push over that they have been for the past few years

everyone really needs to stop with the whole o line thing with dallas. Yes they are good but to think that Murray had nothing to do with the success is silly. Oh, and the Eagles had a better run blocking unit than dallas last year too. Losing as big of a chunk of the offense as they did with Murray will be difficult to replace but I guess that is why they play the games.

Yeti coolers are made in the USA and in the phillipines so they are not made in China. I agree that they are expensive but has already been stated, they are the strongest coolers out there and they flat out work. They are also rotomolded like kayaks are so they are inherently stronger than your standard coolers. I personally don't need a cooler like that but if I was in the market I would be sure to take a long hard look at them and some of the other rotomolded coolers on the market.

I recently picked up a helix 5 SI unit for my kayak and i have to say it is great. I have already used it to mark off shore structure i never fished before and even caught some fish. It has really helped my confidence level and even with only a few trips under my belt, I can say I wish i did it sooner.

Finally found a semi decent jet ski trailer for a good price, $220, and with a title to begin my conversion into a kayak trailer. It will be set up for just the one boat for now but if i need to take out another one I can always stack them together. The plan is to strip it down, get rid of the rust mostly surface rust, prime & paint, repack the hubs and put some sort of visibility poles on the back because i can't see the dang thing behind the jeep at all. I will need to replace the rear cross member and figure out the lights cause they aren't working but that is pretty easy stuff and get a spare. If i can keep the total monetary investment under $500, which i think i can, it will be a good deal for sure. Anyways here is the start of the fun...

I like the bait idea but at the same time, I would rather have the cash to buy the baits I wanted so my vote goes for cash if we have to pick..

I prefer a M XF action for my weightless flukes and stickbaits. I currently am using a St. Croix Rage 6'8" MXF and have been very pleased with it's performance. They are a 140 rod but i believe in the st croix bargain room they have them for 100.

Good advice on the tungsten. I bought a bunch of it when bass pro had their house brand on sale and i can say that i have noticed a difference. It may also help to peg the weight when working through grass. I usually do and it helps me stay in contact with the bait more easily

check out sierra trading post and moose jaw they both have killer deals but the arxteryx stuff goes fast. If the sidewinder is that one with the zipper that goes of to the side definitely try it on first. When i worked at an outdoor store they had them in stock and i thought they would be cool, i hated it lol my latest jacket is the theta SL

I'll help, well worth the money and it will last you longer than nay other jacket you can buy. I had a rain jacket of theirs almost 10 years old before it disappeared and i immediately went out and bought another one....first one was the original paclite the last one is a combination of 2L& 3L paclite, best stuff out there.....oh and i have soft shell of theirs too
