  1. It's all about what you like to spend your money on. As has already been mentioned, if yo are so concerned with having the latest and greatest then you need to have a career that can support it, if you don't then live within your means. I like to spend my money on my hobbies but it is never on credit and it is never at the expense of any other bills. I do admit that i like a nice fly reel though and that is something that isn't even needed for 95% of the fishing i do but hey, I like it. I would bet that all of us got started with cheap basic gear and had as much fun as we do now if not more. Just have fun and spend what you can and don't ridicule or look down on those who spend more or less than you do, remember we are all fisherman
  2. Even if it is not formal pay to fish if there is a pay box it is pay to fish and he is held liable....i only know because of a lot of access issues i worked on for rock climbing areas. Even if it is good old boy deal, laws still apply
  3. If you charge for someone to fish your pond then you are held liable...that is how it works and he should have known better other than trying to make a dollar off of people without doing the research first. He might have the IRS knocking too if he didn't claim the money as income too. For me if it isn't on the DGIF website then i know it is not public. If i want to fish a pond i cannot find on the DGIF website, i try and find the owner and get permission. It isn't that hard to find the owner of a pond as all property ownership is public record an some counties even have searchable maps that show the owners and property boundaries so you don't even have to go to the court house.
  4. The deflated balls, as much as i would love to say it, didn't impact the game as it was a blowout. I just have a problem with a team with a history of cheating having more allegations. I obviously am scorned more than the average fan because my team was beaten in the super bowl during the original spygate. It also doesn't help that the media really pushes this under the rug and still puts belicheat as a top coach...the integrity of the game means a lot to me in all sports and any time a team cheapens that i have an issue. If this was a basketball thread i could go off on my own team, the Sixers, for their tanking and intentionally losing to get better draft picks but i won't and even though i have never met A-jay i swear if the Eagles ever meet the Cheatriots in a super bowl it is gonna be road trip and i will watch the game with him yeah i know, it will never happen.....lol
  5. I was under the impression that each team brings their own balls to use on offense and special teams but that not be true.....even though i read it on the internet
  6. i thought pretty much every team was roided up though....i mean look at the raiders lol
  7. Was a process engineer in a bank for the past 10 years but am changing careers and will be completing my teaching certification here in the next 3 months with the intention of getting my own classroom next fall.
  8. Bradshaw and Noll was a pretty good run too in less years....and they won 4 superbowls and didn't have any cheating allegations either. And look, i didn't even post up the cheating stuff!! you should be proud of me lol
  9. Wouldn't even dream about doing that. if anything i root for any other team in the division to lose and lose badly.
  10. I would buy as many of them as they had if it was at a store location....
  11. never used the snake baits but their frogs are great and they are one of the only place that have floating solid body frogs......
  12. http://www.wildernessracks.com/index.php/jk/racks/adventure-racks/adventure-rack-jk-4-door.html I have owned wilderness systems racks now on two of my jeeps and never a complaint and wouldn't hesitate to get another one. I may actually be selling mine in the next 6 months too so i can get a trailer instead
  13. well since tourneys are never live to me it doesn't really matter. I still enjoy watching them every once in a while to earn some things but to me, tournament fishing isn't really that great for TV.
  14. sorry, autocorrect on my iMac....should say clamps not clan
  15. Here is my daily driver/kayak hauler/whatever else i need...I am just waiting for the tires to need replacing so i can go ahead and get new rims, tires, small lift, flat fenders and new bumpers front and rear... .
  16. I wouldn't look for anything until you know what you want. I always recommend people new to the kayak fishing world to not midday their boats at all until they get a few trips out on the boat. After one or two trips you will be telling yourself i wish i had this or i wish i could do that. Your style of fishing will be important as to how you set up your kayak. I do a lot of fly fishing out of mine and what i want or i have set up would be completely different than most as i need as clean a cockpit area as possible to prevent line snags. I keep my boat pretty simple...a crate, fish finder, a clan system to hold my stake out pole and a few flush mounts behind my seat and that's about it.
  17. I think the other piece that everyone is missing is that very few "warranty" programs are really warranty programs anymore. They are more rod replacement programs as people think a rod breaking is a warranty issue and 99% of the time it is not a warranty issue but rather operator error. OF al the rods i have broken i have had one fly rod that was truly a warranty issue in my mind as the location the rod broke was rare and it was done during a cast. It doesn't take that much to put a nick or a weak spot in graphite and when it breaks, it isn't the rods fault.
  18. The rule is pretty clear. If the receiver is on his way to the ground he must maintain control throughout the fall to the ground. If the ball hits the ground the ball cannot move after it touches the ground or it is not considered a catch. The refs made the right call but the outrage should be more towards the rule.
  19. you are calling Wilson and Luck HOF QBs after three seasons, interesting.....
  20. there are a lot of boats that will work for bigger guys so my advice is to find a local kayak place and see id they have a demo days and go test out as many boats as you can.
  21. Peyton is not a good playoff QB......he looked old out there the past month or so. Too bad you can't employ the same technique as Popovich and rest starters in the regular season to keep them fresh for the postseason.
  22. Yeah, it was a catch by the eye test but not by the rule book. Guess there is such a thing as karma......funniest thing i saw was what the lions tweeted out.... https://twitter.com/lions
  23. It's always fun for me A-Jay....i may be passionate but nothing in the sports is life or death.
  24. I like the stankxbaitco damzel and swankx baits. I figure if they are too long i can always trim them back like was mentioned above.
  25. before you start making blind accusations you might want to watch the game as i was not talking about your normal working the refs or complaining about a call like happens on almost every play. He was nose to nose and yelling in his face...that is completely different than what you described. I have been on the bench as player a coach and also as a ref for high school basketball so i know how it works. I never stated he wasn't good i have a problem with any player who thinks they are bigger than the game in any sport. When i see a guy like Brady get his leg brushed, no flag thrown then you see him ***** and moan about it and a flag is thrown, that is where I have an issue. And like i said, if you actually read what i posted before, it isn't all his fault because the league lets him get away with it. How he was yelling at the ref yesterday he should have been penalized and put into his place as a player.
