Got Snow?
Well down here in Virginia they are calling for up to 10" of snow or so and if my past experience here repeats itself, everything will be shut down for most of the week. I used to always keep a tow strap in my Jeep just for pulling people out of the snow and mud but haven't gotten one yet for my current Jeep. I am looking forward to the snow and hopefully we get enough so i can take my son sledding since he hasn't gone yet in his nearly 5 years of life.....

How To Verify A Record And Keep It Alive?
That is interesting, i have never heard of anything like that but i guess that proves the point that you need to learn your state's regulations

How To Verify A Record And Keep It Alive?
If i catch a potential state record fish I will do what i can to keep it alive but i am not going to beat myself up about it if it does die. I have released plenty of citation size fish here in virginia so if i happen to catch the record, maybe it was one i released before. No worries and i will sleep good at night

A Little Something I Call The Maylar Minnow.
I have been tying pretty much the same thing as a fly for about 10 years I don't use the jig head but instead wrap the hook shank with lead. Another option is to tie a zonker which is a rabbit strip all along the back of the fly extending out to the tail, one of my favorite flies of all time by far.

Weightless Fluke
I go with a 6'8" MXF spinning setup with either 20 or 30lb braid, with no leader, depending on which rod I use. I haven't noticed a huge issue with line twist but the advice to do a few long casts every once in a while is a good one that can save some headaches down the road. I tried throwing them on a bait caster but i just wasn't a fan.

New Power Pro Braid
Comparing standard power pro with suffix yo are right but it is also not a fair comparison. When comparing super slick with suffix i don't see a difference from a smoothness standpoint. The wind knot issue, haven't experienced it with either brand. I generally use suffix or power pro super slick, whichever is cheaper when i pick up a spool.

Why Do They Do That? !!
maybe it is a question they are also wondering about and by responding, it bumps it to the top of the forum.

Topwater Popper, Spooks Require This Line
I use braid for my topwater fishing but tend to use a softer rod. I don't fish topwater that often other than frogs so i have yet to dedicate a set up for this technique. The only thing about braid that I do not like for topwater is they seem to get tangled on the front hook more often when using walk the dog techniques. Other than that minor inconvenience, i'll take the advantages any day.

First Day Of Student Teaching On Monday...
Quick update on my student teaching experience thus far....i am a little over two weeks in and have picked up a 2 full subjects to teach, math and word study aka spelling, and will be picking up an additional class each week until i have the entire school day. The plan is by the end of the month, I will be the teacher of all subjects. So what i can say so far is I have never had a day go by as fast as the days in the classroom. The teaching part is great and I am enjoying every minute of it. The logistical piece is going to be the challenge to learn as i don't really think you can get a full grasp of that until you are the only one teaching the class. I have already written more lesson plans in this short time than i have in all my schooling so far, i am not that good at it though. There are so many things that come up and you have to adjust on the fly and i think that is what i like the most. Anyways, just thought i would share an update...

Bad Experience With Bps Pro Qualifier
I have found that on my PQ the smallest braid i can go with is the 8lb diameter which i think is around 30b maybe. I will also add that it can be tricky reel to set up initially but after you do, it is good reel even if it is a bit on the heavy side.

Va Winter Smallie
well i went up to the spot i am thinking of last summer and did quite well....the fish are there for sure. And the fish kills aren't really winter related, they believe them to be related to agricultural runoff.

Bruce Jenner Becoming A Woman
I saw this the other day. I am guessing it is just another reality TV show angle Hard to believe a guy who won the decathlon now wants to be a gal? i wonder if they strip his gold medal from him....has to be some sort of violation lol

Virginia Bass License Plate
i used to have the one for bicycling but have yet to get a new one for my current Jeep. While i like that some of the money goes towards conservation efforts, i would rather donate the entire amount to my own preference of conservation efforts so i know it all gets there and some isn't skimmed off in the process.

Yum Money Hound?
I used them a few seasons ago and had a heck of a time hooking up with them after blowups. They are able to be cast into anything and they will cast a mile too. Yo can find them in the sale Walmart bins all the time....

Seibert Jig Order.....
It's been too long since i bought any baits so i decided it was time to get some more Seibert jigs. Let's just say i will be set for swim jigs and i also picked up a few of the Fogys, a few dredge jigs and a couple of the compact spinnerbaits. I really got into throwing a swim jig last season so i wanted to load up this year and commit to the various types of jig presentations out there. Now i have no excuses not to do so. Should be a good day when they get here

The Road To The Super Bowl
Did anyone get ejected, nope. They are threatening it because he has now been warned and if he does so then he will be tossed. People wear non sanctioned gear and get fined all the time. I think rg3 was fined for wearing different socks. If lynch gets tossed now it isn't for the cleats it is for not heeding the dictator's rules
