Fish Finder In A Kayak
I have used the arm method for my kayak and went to the plumbers putty installation for a thru hull and can't complain. the picture is just as good as it was before and i don't have to worry about banging it or pulling it up. Now once i spring for a SI model, al that will change as it has to be in the water to function properly, at which point i will rig something up as far forward as i can.

Football Moves
It is probably good for the skins to not make a big splash in FA like they have in year's past. On the offensive side of the ball there really is no excuse not to put up points. Defensively they need some work and their special teams needs some work but the stability of the team is going to be key if they are going to move forward. As far as my Eagles go, the only position they didn't upgrade was WR but everywhere else they are the same or better. I have no idea what Kelly has up his sleeve but i have feeling that Bradford will never play in Philly and there will be a Mariota led team in Philly next year. I just wish i was more of a college football fan and knew if he was going to be a stud or not but there is something to be said about a guy who was recruited in college, won a heisman, and now has the opportunity to be drafted in the NFL by the same guy who recruited him and runs the same offense in the NFL and done so in a way that has set team records..

Respect For Chip Kelly
I think he is a classy guy and isn't just a coach. As far as gutting the team goes, he has got rid of good players and still manages to produce so i am cool with it all and he has earned the right to try and get his guys.

Got Out To A New Pond Today...
Got back into it kayak fishing about 5 years ago and still enjoy it a lot. Around here there are so many HP restricted or electric only lakes that a kayak is a great option. Of course i am getting the itch for a new one though since it has been over a year since i bought one lol

Got Out To A New Pond Today...
I busted my butt grading the past two weeks so no grading for me this weekend I do need to do up my last week of lesson plans though and get prepared for my last formal evaluation on Wednesday though.....oh and do some other stuff for my last class but i am still gonna try and sneak out either this afternoon/evening or tomorrow afternoon after my kid's soccer game, if it doesn't get cancelled.

Got Out To A New Pond Today...
And that is the reason no picture was taken I did measure him though cause she was pretty big and looked to be full of either eggs or lunch

First Big Bass Of The Year - Battling The Wind!
i have caught bass in water temperatures down to 38 on the same style of bait and in every month of the year here in Virginia. Oh and nice catch too

Got Out To A New Pond Today...
here in Virginia they have trophy sized bass as defined by either weight or length (for release purposes). The length measurement is 22" for the LM and the pickerel is 24". I could even submit the catch to DGIF and pay $5 and get some certificate or some junk too if i really wanted to.

Rod / Reel For Weightless Fluke Fishing
I use spinning gear for all my fluke throwing duties. 6'9" MXF St. Croix rage paired up with a stradic Ci4 2500 with 6lb diameter power pro super slick. It does the job for all different types of flukes except the huge 7"+ deals

The Deep Diving Crankbait And The Jon Boat
nothing you can do but get a bigger, heavier boat. In my kayak if i know i will be throwing a crank i anchor so that the pull of the crank is against the anchor so i dont move too much or if i can, i lock it in with my stakeout pole.

Got Out To A New Pond Today...
The weather has not been too cooperative this week which sucks since it is my spring break. I made up my mind that i was going to go out today no matter what the weather had in store for me. It was overcast all day long and drizzling with temps never getting above about 50 or so. Anyways, ended up catching about 12 total with about half being pickerel including one that was citation sized but the prize of the day was this beauty She measured just over 22" so i have my first citation LM and pickerel of the year. I should have gotten a girth measurement so i could guesstimate the weight but it's all good.... I will definitely be heading back to this place again.

It's Time To Plant My Garden....
You probably still have 2 feet of snow on the ground too I don't live in a very rural area so rabbits are about the only thing that can get into my back yard. I would like to believe that our three dogs who have free reign back there would prevent them from doing anything but the two older ones couldn't care less and the puppy, well let's just say he is a good dog but not terribly bright lol

It's Time To Plant My Garden....
I tried the container tomatoes and have never had much success. We are trying some corn that was developed to grow in a container so we will see how that goes.... On a related note, i finished all my planting this morning so hopefully in a week or two i will see some plants pushing through and hopefully the rabbits stay away.

Could I Get Sponsored?
sure you could say that or anything else you wanted to but that doesn't mean it is the same thing. If you can take the averages of all the people who visit vegas and it turns out that the customer makes 1M over the course of their life then you are right. I would say that the casinos aren't in the business of losing, and as can be seen by the opulence present on the strip, they aren't. Maybe a college business or statistics class would help lol

It's Time To Plant My Garden....
Yeah i learned about it last season and it is basically taking off all the buds that form in the crooks of main stems and removing any smaller stems. It is a decent amount of work but the results were good for me. The theory is the energy of the plant is diverted to the stronger stems so the production is higher. Worked for me last year so i'll do it again this year. I am trying one new tomato called a super sauce hybrid. It is supposedly huge gets to about 2lbs, and bred for making sauce so very minimal seeds and non fleshy stuff. http://www.burpee.com/vegetables/tomatoes/paste/tomato-supersauce-hybrid-prod003154.html;jsessionid=7748B226883346803F85FCCE21B0C7D8.node2?cid=PPC&gclid=CJLmqsCS5MQCFUgkgQod6ZQAfg

It's Time To Plant My Garden....
I have had real good success with all direct sow. I don't have the room in my house right now to start anything indoors and replant otherwise i would. It would be pretty cool to be a month ahead of the curve and start harvesting early. Maybe in my next house i will have the room to do that but for now, direct sow is where it's at for me.

It's Time To Plant My Garden....
Now that's a garden!! I was thinking of getting a set of the drip lines but my puppy, a 9 month old,100+lb rottie and still growing, likes to chew on hoses so i figured i would wait.

Dogwoods!!!!
I am hoping the dogwood predictor is true because i am hoping to get out a few days this week as it is spring break

Baseball Picks
Beating the phillies is like picking on an elementary school kid when you are in high school.....i thought it was a home run derby and not a baseball game....this is gonna be a long and painful season.
-
It's Time To Plant My Garden....
yeah i didn't do that my first year but i learned about doing it last year and i was shocked at how much that helped increase the production on the plants. It is a PITA though...

Problems Setting Hook While Using 7" Zoombait Flukes
set the hook harder, use braid or skin hook the bait. You can also create a groove through the plastic by working the hook through it a few times so there is not as much plastic to go through. If the areas you are fishing are not that weedy, you can also rig it with the hook exposed.
-
Officially Hooked
doesn't take much...and you live in incredible trout fishing country. I would probably sell all my bass gear if i lived near water like you have in colorado.

Could I Get Sponsored?
Not sure it is a debt scam when on average those with a college degree amass about 1M more in salary over the course of their career. I would say even at a 75k investment that a 14x return on your money is a pretty good deal.
