  1. Wow, that is a heck of a find there. No doubt i would go back and see what else was there.
  2. Same can be said about ignorant ones as well....
  3. I did one of the kits on an old car that had all the steps mentioned above with the sanding, polishing and clear coat. Results were awesome and it did look good as new until i sold the vehicle a few years later .
  4. no matter how replaceable a guy is on the offensive line, that is not a plug and play position. It takes a few weeks for the players to begin to gel.....I am surprised that dallas is only giving 6.5 points. IF i was a betting man, I wouldn't touch this game with someone else's money.
  5. If the giants win it isn't a two team race anymore.....
  6. I think you are the first person i have seen who prefers braid for hard jerk baits.......i use braid for everything and no leaders. I have thought about trying out come co-poly or flouro though just for kicks
  7. I have caught 5 fish that were between 23"-26"....no idea on weight because i don't carry a scale. One was caught pre spawn, 2 were in the dog days of summer and the other 2 were dead of winter....
  8. I have a strange feeling that the Giants will either win a close one or put a big time scare into Dallas....
  9. i have heard good things about the nucanoe frontier but isn't that boat pretty pricey as in over 1k?
  10. Conventional set up is a shimano citica on a St Croix Rage.....Fly rod is a Sage Bass II paired up with a lamson litespeed that goes for about $900 total. I have other fly rods in the same range but i haven't bought any of them for near their MSRP....
  11. oh so true....it was like a new sport to me when i got my first sinking line and then shooting line lol
  12. Each rod is different too which throws another variable into the mix....i learned to cast on a medium to slow action Sage DS2 and when i got a faster action rod, I had to learn how that rod casted and adjust accordingly.
  13. Good explanation...the only other thing i will add is keeping the rod in the same plane throughout and the stop is the most important part of the cast and when watching a good caster, you may not even see it happen but it is there.
  14. As long as the water isn't frozen i get out there. I prepare for the cold weather and fish for bass or chase trout in a spring creek not far from me. I seem to go through my gear a few times a year when everything gets too out of whack but for the most part, i have no off season lol
  15. if you are having trouble determining when it hits bottom just watch your line. it will go slack when it hits the bottom and to validate further, when you think it hit the bottom, drop your rod tip a foot or so and you will see the line go slack or pile up which indicates it is no longer falling.
  16. i can't see financing anything other than a house for longer than 5-6 years...those 12 year loans on boats always baffle me because without a substantial downpayment you will be under water for a long long time....
  17. there are some good deals on quality boats right now for 2014 inventory as 2015 is coming in. In my opinion the jump from entry level to a higher level boat is pretty large and comes a lot in the form of a quality seat. One of the best boats for the money out there is the jackson Cruise 12. It isn't rigged up for fishing so you can do what you want but it comes with a good hull design and the super comfy Jackson seat....you can get one shipped from appomattox river company for under $900.
  18. When i bought mine i checked out the Avids and Rage side by side and didn't notice an difference. Ad after fishing with Avids previously and then the rage rods for over a year now i can't say the Avids are any better but much of that may have to do with the grips and my preference. Sensitivity is about the same to me and both are a big time jump up from the mojo or premier blanks. s far as the guides go, i haven't had any issues.
  19. A few less dollars gets you the same blank in their rage series and has more of a split grip design. I have three rage rods and they are great rods. I personally am not a fan of cork grips and especially not full ones so that is why i checked out the rage.
  20. true for the reel handle but not for the gear that the handle is attached to and subsequently drives the gear that turns the spool...
  21. you joke but i have seen guys tie up A rig type flies.....i have a rod that could handle it but doesn't equate well to a fly rod lol
  22. It was said tongue in cheek....i always laugh at those same posts.
  23. that is a good one right there.....
  24. i think you forgot to factor in the signing bonus lol
  25. Hope that set up was balanced or you might have carpal tunnel syndrome afterwards.....lol I am thinking of getting an A-rig to try out this year but we will see if i ever do and actually chuck one. it is a lot of hooks to have to manage in a kayak
