  1. This is true, they have the best video equipment in the league!!!
  2. That would have been youtube gold if you caught it on a gopro.
  3. At least you have an early monday night game to watch I am liking this giants cowboys game so far....if they can hold on and win, Thursday's game against Dallas could be the nail in the coffin, if the Eagles can pull off a win.
  4. Stocked fish seem to end up in strange places all the time. I have heard of people catching them in the James in the winter after they made their way out of the hardware river delayed harvest section and to the James.
  5. The only native trout in the mid atlantic, well char actually, are brookies. I am not sure where there are in MD but if they are there, it would be in smaller mountain streams that maintain lower temperatures during the summer.
  6. They don't clip fins here in VA unless it is for the steelhead they were trying to stock there for a while. I am guessing this fish was caught on the Robinson since that is what the picture is titled . That stream would get way too warm to have fish carry over in the summer. Depending on where you caught the fish, it would be highly unlikely for a fish to be wild but anything is possible. From what i understand in talking to the DGIF rangers, the only sustainable reproducing population of rainbows is in the mount rogers area. And even if they don't stock fingerlings, it is very common for fish of varying sizes to be stocked at the same time as other fish. Not trying to take away from your catch at all as it is a pretty fish
  7. Looks like a stocker to me...could have been stocked as a fingerling too. Either way it has been in the river for a while and is still a good looking fish.
  8. I take 301 when i go up there now. It takes a little longer if there is no traffic on 95 (rare to never happens), has less tolls and is a nicer drive. You get on 95 right in Delaware too so it you miss all the DC/Baltimore traffic. Also easier to stop when you have a 4 year old and 5 month old puppy along for the ride
  9. Saw the alert earlier too....of course this is the first year in a long time we will be making the trip up to philly to visit my family. Seems that the earlier we can leave on wednesday the better we will be.
  10. It wasn't 12 years it was 2004-2005 but those were from a team that cheated and before that it was denver in the late 90's. I don't mind having different teams in it every year myself.
  11. Two key penalties that weren't called really hurt them. They missed two helmet to helmet hits on Sanchez that would have extended drives. And to say the birds are horrible is hardly true....Green Bay this year has been unbeatable at home here are their wins: 31-24 42-10 38-17 55-14 53-20
  12. The Eagles look like a pop warner team out there today....Time to worry about Tennessee now
  13. Mine was more out of self preservation as i had a stupid lady in a minivan make a left turn in front of me as i was going straight. I locked up my brakes, slide sideways and had my foot stuck out and hit her van with it to keep me from blasting into it. I thought "pipe fitters" are the only ones who wore chaps?
  14. I have done the same thing only i was on a bike of the pedal variety.
  15. Cotton is the absolute worst thing to wear in the cold and especially as a base layer. It can retain 3-5 times its weight in water which in cold weather is the exact opposite of what you want. Sweat is the enemy as i learned through my years of climbing in the cold weather. there were plenty of times i would be hiking into an area in freezing temperatures and i would strip down to my base layer just so i would prevent sweating. Of course i was working pretty hard and hypothermia was not a a concern but the principles are the same, get any moisture away from your skins as quickly as possible. Another important thing to remember is when choosing socks and footwear make sure neither are too tight as that restricts blood flow and will make you cold and once your feet are cold, it is hard to bring them back to being warm again
  16. 2 rod brands and 1 reel brand for conventional 2 rod brands and 4 reel brands for fly fishing gear
  17. I swap out hooks on almost all my baits anyways so that isn't a concern for me. I have probably a dozen of them myself and they all run true for me. I do agree though that tuning a crankbait isn't as easy as people make it out to be...i always seem to do more damage lol I also have not had good success at all with KVD baits and while i still have a few, i rarely chuck them.
  18. the exact opposite....bombers are some of my favorite baits and never had an issue with any of them
  19. #9 is a good brew for sure.
  20. I use 8lb diameter braid tied directly to a snap for my cranking needs. I also have a moderate action crank bait rod which adds shock absorption to the equation. I tried a leader for a bit and didn't see any difference in catching or landing fish so i went straight braid and haven't had any issues.
  21. I wouldn't change what you have either. I have a 7' kistler helium cranking rod with a bass pro PQ and cast those same baits. I don't think yo are gonna get much more distance but yo an always get your reel super tuned or turn off the brakes on the reel and see if that gets you more distance.
  22. You notice there are quite a few meteorologists coming out now with a winter forecast hat is supposed to be colder and snowier than normal? I miss the snow and i hope we get a lot, much to the chagrin of the Louisiana transplant lol
  23. I just started throwing them this fall and have been using my 6'8" MHF rod with braid and have no complaints. Caught this guy on one yesterday actually
  24. If you are going to get wool, get the good stuff from icebreaker, smart wool, patagonia etc....it will last a lot longer. That being said, i am not a fan of wool. Yes it does retain warmth when wet but so do modern day synthetics and wool takes forever to dry out if you do get it wet. When i am in the kayak i go full synthetic all the time because you will get wet and when you do, you want it to dry faster and wick away moisture from the body which synthetic beats wool on that every time. I do like wool though but not as a base layer, more as mid weight layer but not in my kayak.
