Thanks for sharing the story and validating the need to wear a PFD. I am a kayak fisherman and pretty much always wear my PFD. I have been known to take it off while doing a paddle upstream on a river because of the heat factor but it feels weird whenever i do it, kind of like wearing a seatbelt. I am glad everything turned out ok and we can all share in your lesson learned.

Maybe you are watching different games but desean was dropping balls becasue he was trying to not get hurt before his contract was renewed and basically came out and said that...Vick was always outtehre when he was healthy so not sure where the Vick piece comes in to play. VInce Young came out and siad they were a "dream team" and should win it all so that seems pretty positive. I know for one, Vick loves Reid and other than the Akers thing nobody ever came out against him. I liked Reid and he will go down as the best coach philly ever had unless someone comes in and wins a superbowl or two but he lost control of the discipline on the team, much like Manuel for the phillies. He was used to a veteran team with more leeway and team leadership but with the younger guys that wasn't happening so they started losing. The downhill trend started when guys like McNabb and Dawkins were gone and nobody stepped up. The defensive coordinator mess was a comedy at best and there was nothing more they could do. And as far as being worse off....they have the same wins as they did last year after an entire season so they are progressing nicely, especially given an entire new coaching staff, offensive and defensive system.

I believe Rich Kotite and the Eagles went 7-2 only to end the season 7-9 in his last season as coach.

No, in Philly it was Reid. He was in control of the players and coaches and once JJ died the defense went downhill fast. Offense was his strength not defense and it showed. It was just time for him to move on....

I use braid in 8-12lb diameters.

Never owned the cabelas one but i own 4 citicas and for the money, they are one of the best reels out there. I also fish from a kayak so my gear has a tendency to get beat up a little bit but I have no complaints.

I like kielbasa when i am out and any type of kebab is always good. If i am car camping i cook the same things i would at home since storage isn't an issue.

I actually wouldn't recommend ratchet straps as it is real easy to apply to much force and damage the kayak or roof rack on a longer trip. I have used the standard cam lock straps on probably thousands of miles worth of trips with no issues.

Yeah i have all different size boxes in there depending on what i am taking out for the day. I have found that spinnerbait boxes that either have removable dividers taken out or ones where they have been cut out work really well to store soft plastics bags. I know quite a few people who also mount rod holders and the like on there too but for your application it might not be necessary.

The other thing to consider is a milk crate. Fishing out of a kayak myself i need to be cognizant of storage and portability as well and I have found using a crate is the best of both worlds. It allows easy transport between vehicle and boat and back to the house after a day of fishing.

I used to be a pretty active cyclist riding between 200-300 miles a week which included commuting to work which was about 15-18 miles one way. After my son was born a few years ago it took a back burner spot. Now that my time is limited with school and work i need something i can get out and do that is quick and doesn't take more than an hour or two so I figured i would go back to cycling. I have a trainer but i have a tough time riding inside...kind of like when i was a climber and people took me to a gym the first time. Not the real thing And yes, padded shorts are most definitely your friend and are one of those things that paying for a quality pair has huge benefits. Now i just have to see how low temperature wise i can go down to with my full finger mountain bike gloves. Have you ever used one of the rollers? They seem to be more like actual riding than a trainer and probably quieter too i would imagine but the idea of riding inside on rollers is kind of scary if something goes awry lol

Just picked up some cold weather cycling gear so i can get back in that groove....i know bad time to do it but i figure i will burn more calories since it will be cold out Not to mention it will toughen me up a little since i have gotten soft from working in corporate America for far to long.....

Chris Mullin had one of the smoothest jumpers ever. The heat are going to be tough to dethrone and i think they have the talent to literally slack and make the playoffs with whatever seed and turn it on and win it all....again. Lebron is a crazy special talent. He is like Magic johnson with athleticism and more strength.

yeah i think you are right. The cardinals have an incredibly bright future. I just wish i could say the same for the phillies even though i was pleased to see some of the young talent at the end of the season.
