  1. You should have seen him play in high school....dude was a beast which is pretty understandable given his career in the NBA.
  2. The sox played well for sure. Even though they bought their team pretty much in the offseason they still came together as a team nicely and it was hard to tell that last year was their first spring training together. The Cardinals are going to be good for a good long time and I am really glad they did well after dealing off the over rated, crybaby Pujols so he could watch from his couch this year. I think I am going to have to try and make it down to FL for spring training this year.
  3. So is this a cryptic way to say no since he is out now?
  4. I think they won because it was a back to back for miami and wade was out....as far as sheed goes i saw him play in high school too and he is often regarded as one of the smartest players in the game and used that to his advantage. Yeah he had a crazy temper and got tons of technicals but he was a true coach on the floor. Watching the wizards makes me think back to the weber, howard and sheed days and why break up those three.....oh yeah it was for money And i have no doubt that Lebron is the greatest player ever to touch an NBA floor. I would put the big O in there too but i have never watched him play other than on NBA classic.
  5. That is an awesome reid impersonation. I saw one where they had a newborn dressed as a subway sandwich....thought that was pretty original.
  6. Sue them for what? They are replacing a product that was deemed faulty and not charging anything to do it either. Seems like it is pretty good service to me and while ti sucks something happened they are doing everything they can to make it right. Everyone just wants to sue or complain without giving people an opportunity to fix their mistake...
  7. Anyone else out there an NBA fan? I am not as big a fan as I am of baseball and football but i still enjoy watching both the pros and college. As anyone who has read any of my posts can probably guess, I am a Sixers fan which is pretty tough here lately but the future could be good. We went to probably one game a year as a kid and it was always against the hated celtics. I was also lucky as i got older to be able to see pretty much every superstar play in person like Olajuwon, Shaq, Barkley, Malone, Magic, Bird, Iverson, Moses Malone, Kareem, Kobe (actually saw him play in high school), Rasheed Wallace and I am sure a few more that I am not remembering. Only baseball is a better game to see in person in m opinion. And before anyone starts off how they are over paid, thugs blah blah blah keep it to yourself as all athletes are paid what the market will bare and every one of us would probably do the same thing if we could. Anyways as i watch the sixes play the wizards and am hoping the carter-williams kid turns out as good as his historic debut the other night I figured i would post.
  8. I agree about the cost aspect. I have the p90x and p90x 2 and neither were cheap up front but i have the DVD's and can dop them whenever i want and it can provide some motivation to keep with it not to mention it is still cheaper than joining a gym.. I am planning on starting up this weekend as i tried last week and my shoulder was still giving me trouble which for the p90x workouts is not a good thing.
  9. I wonder how many times a person has been up with the bases loaded not once but twice in a single post season game and three times in one postseason.....seems pretty crazy just like Victorino's attempt at growing a beard.
  10. I'll go against the grain here. Give it up for a little while. Go back and find another hobby that you used to enjoy and try it again, you might be surprised at all the fun you were missing. After a few months you will want to fish again and when you do, it will be like it is new and exciting again. You won't be stuck in all the minutia you have been troubled with as of late. I have a highly obsessive personality and want to excel in any hobby I pick up. Over the years i have tried many things and had a ton of fun in every one. There are a few i continue to do and others i look back and still think about the fun times i had but I have no desire to go back to them again. I haven't been out fishing since mid August as my schedule won't allow it but I have picked up road biking again and i almost forgot how much fun it was Have i given up on fishing, not even close but the time it takes to go fishing is considerably more than what it takes to jump on my bike and go for an hour or so ride. Bottom line is have fun with whatever you are doing and taking a break from anything for a while is never a bad thing.
  11. I am not as concerned about the strike zone being consistently correct as i am it being consistent with what is called. I mean when was the last time you saw a strike called above the waist by more than an inch when by the rules i believe it is basically from right below the letters to the knees. The schedule worked out perfect too.....game 6 with no other competing sports.
  12. I am with slonezp on this one too. You also hear many pros either on TV or in articles talking abotu firing up the school by catching one or two and then once he action slows going to a more subtle bait to get even more strikes.
  13. I think people are confusing customer service/warranty with happy with getting things for nothing. The majority of broken rods are user error and not due to a fault in the rod but companies are more than generous in giving you a deal on a new rod or replacement. In the above scenario about a chipped eyelet that was your own fault would you have such a glowing review if they said sure we wil lsend you out some but it will cost you $15-$20 shipped? I could be wrong but my guess is you wouldn't. This expectation of getting something for a lower price because you broke a rod to me seems silly. I just recently lent a rod to my brother and dad to use to go after stripers and it was a Penn bluewater something or other. Well he broke it by stepping on it and both of them said well try and warranty it. I read the warranty and it is pretty much the same for all rods as it covers manufacturers defects not accidental breakage, misuse etc...I didn't even bother to attempt to warranty the rod because i knew it was not the rod's fault it was broken. Could i have done it, probably but it isn't right. Now i know there are some rods that have unconditional warranties and i am fine with that because that is what they are but every rod i have broken on my own i either paid the upgraded cost because it was my fault and didn't attempt to say it was broken in a way that matches the warranty.
  14. Wow that seems really crappy to me. Act like you are his friend to get some info then take his spots on the days you know he is out there because you stalked him? Sorry but that is just bad regardless of your thoughts on C&R. If he is breaking the law tell the authorities and let them handle the situation.
  15. You are seriously going to fault a guy for not taking food stamps? wow that is the first i have heard of that one.... I would also venture a guess that if he is out there that often in the same spot then the he might be doing the lake a little bit of a favor by taking out some smaller fish so the lake can remain healthy. Not saying he should over harvest or take anything undersized but many lakes could benefit from a few fish being harvested, well at leaf that is what i have read and seen in a few lakes here in VA where they have encouraged people to take fish.
  16. People sink Christmas trees all the time so what you are doing is no different. It will most likely attract some fish and i would venture a guess that the bass are always there because it isn't like you put them in and they heard it a few miles away and swam over to check it out
  17. Report it and move on. I also find it hard to believe you are able to see from a distance that he keeps everything regardless of size or species unless you are paying more attention to him than you are fishing.
  18. Pitcher hitting a homer in the WS isn't that rare but it would be cool to see....unassidted triple play to end the game would be even better and keep in line with the rest of the end of game plays this series
  19. It has been entertaining and I like the weird factor with al lthe plays that you rarely see in the rgular season let alone the postseason and even less so in the WS.
  20. Yeah it should be Rogaine not romaine, new laptop auto corrects differently, and i was asking a question not necessarily correcting.
  21. Reels, yes as they serve multiple purposes. For rods i have but only if for the reasons mentioned above i want to have multiple rods that serve different purposes. When I am out smallmouth fishing I will very often take 2 6'8" MXF spinning rods, one for weightless soft plastics and one for lighter bottom contact presentations or jerk baits.
  22. I like Victorino being a Phillies fan but man, he needs some romaine for that "beard" of his.....
  23. I thought it was Big Papi.....
  24. Don't bring silly math and logic into this....lol I am curious on the story behind it too.
  25. This is a great question. I have never worn out a rod because i usually replace them or break them but in theory it is possible. Any material has a certain number of flexes that it can take before it will fail. In the case of modern graphite rods I imagine this flex number to be extremely high and would take decades to achieve. It also won't just break in two all of the sudden but it will tend to flex more as the material breaks down. One way to think about it is anytime something bends it is essentially rubbing against itself and friction causes heat and breaks down a material. As far as how often I replace a rod it seems like side i got back into fishing a few years ago i replaced all my rods every year but now after 4 years in I am pretty happy with my set ups and most likely will not replace them anytime soon.
