  1. Hello, I have a bow mounted depthfinder with the transducer built into the trolling motor. I have another depthfinder at the console using a transom mounted transducer. Both are 20' transducers. Can I use both at the same time? Will they interfere with each other? Will they "conflict" with each other at deeper depths? Please note both are "basic" depthfinders; no GPS. Thanks very much Larry
  2. I have tried to send an email to Bobby, but they have been returned. The error message says it was returned due to "possible spam". I promise, I am not spam. Can anyone suggest how I can foward my reviews of the products? thanks Larry
  3. For those considering the Motorguide Wireless with built in Transducer- WAIT!!! I have had one for about 6 months. The performance is excellent. However, I have had 2 cracked nose cones for no apparent reason (no impact). Motorguide has acknowledged a design flaw having to do with the nose cone and transducer and they and lowrance are working on the fix. Currently, they are not selling or replacing the nose cones with the transducer. If yours fails, they will temporarily replace with a non transducer model until a new design is released. They have also acknowledged a few problems like mine (cracked nose cones). The cracked nose cone may or may not be related to the other issue. In either case, they have agreed to exchange my unit for a Tour Edition if they don't release a new design in the next 4 weeks. It is a great unit, but maybe they released it a little early. I think they have a few issues to work out. Larry
  4. I had my local Cabelas order it for me and paid no S&H. Since they offered it online but not in the store, they ordered it in with no shipping cost. lb
  5. I do have the hand held remote; however I don't use it myself. The way we use it, if I am at the bow with trouble with my line or changing lures, my partner in the back can take temporary control of the boat so the boat can stay in position. It has worked out very well. I have found the TM to be vey responsive but everyone has different expectations. lb
  6. I have had one for about 6 months with no problems. The wireless foot control works very well. You can make small adjustments easily. I bought it because the front deck on my boat is pretty small. Its nice not having a cable taking up space. I have the 75 lbs and have not had any issue with vibration. I heard there was an issue with the transducer coming lose but I have not had that problem. If you do get the wireless, I strongly suggest getting one with a built in transducer as there is not a good way to run the cable down the shaft due to the way the unit deploys. good luck larry
  7. Does anyone have any experience with Guest Chargers? They seem to be small and inexpensive. I wonder if this would be a good alternative to the Pro Mariner chargers. thanks lb
  8. Thanks for all of the replies. I guess I should have added my TM is one of the new Digital Wireless models from Motorguide. So the foot control is not connected to the unit. Not sure how this effects the "set screw" some referred to. thanks Larry
  9. I have a bow monted TM on a 97 Lowe Alum Bass Boat. Last weekend, I noticed the TM was not tracking straight. I was continually having to adjust L or R. What might cause this? thanks Larry
  10. Hello, First,, I am aware that Pro Mariner makes the XPS charger. I have now gone through 2 of the XPS 5/5/5 chargers in 7 months with very light use. Bass Pro has agreed to replace it with a Pro Mariner Pro Sport 20 Plus charger. They appear to be very similar chargers except the Pro Mariner has a total output of 20 amps; vs 15 for the XPS. My question is, do you think there is any quality difference between the units? The manager at BPS said the internal hardware is better on the Pro Mariner, but not sure if that is true. Your thoughts are appreciated. thanks Larry
  11. Hello, The title pretty much says it all. Do most of you travel with your seats on? We have been taking the posts out and just mounting the seats until we get to the lake. What are your thoughths? thanks Larry
  12. Hello, What are the best conditions/situations to throw a suspending jerk bait? thanks Larry
  13. Hello, Used some Flukes over the weekend for the first time. Wow, what a cool lure. Caught 3 fish. What great action. Does anyone C Rig Fluke type baits? thanks Larry
  14. Hello, For those that wacky rig their Senkos, do you use a 2 or 2/0 hook? Would be nice if I could use the same hook for wacky as T rig. thanks Larry
  15. Hello, Do you keep your bow mounted graph on the boat during travel? We typically remove ours during storage and put it in the bracket at the lake. Was wondering if I could just keep it mounted on the bow. Thanks for your replies. Larry
  16. Hello, I have a trailer with typical bunks. My question is should the bunks be stationary, or should they be able to move a little to self adjust their angle? One of my bunks won't move, the other moves a little. It seems to me they should be able move a little to find the right angle to fit the hull. thanks Larry
  17. I love my Shimano Crucial. Very light and sensitive and a no questions asked over the counter lifetime warranty. I think it is about $120.00. Larry
  18. Hello, Does anyone use a weight when fishing a fluke type bait? I would like to fish it a few feet deep. thanks Larry
  19. Hello, Often when I need some more line out of my reel (spinning reel), I loosen the drag a bit and pull some line out. Please note I don't loosen the drag much, just enough so I can pull line out. Does this cause line twist? Does the looseness of the drag effect if there is line twist? thanks Larry
  20. Hello, I have a 1997 50 HP Evinrude. Sometimes it is a little tough to start first thing in the morning after sitting for a week or 2. Is it OK to start in high throttle position? Or do I need to start in neutral, then once running put in high throttle? thanks Larry
  21. I have the wireless Motorguide which I think has a similar stow/deploy system. On mine, I "pop" the other end of the shaft for a little leverage and it seems to release the business end. Rather than using a steady push, try a quick pop. good luck Larry
  22. Roadwarrior, My buddies and I start talking about our Fall fishing trip 6 months out. It is now April. In the mean time, i'll just have to use the rod/reel for bass fishing. thanks Larry
  23. Thanks for your replies. HPPB, Your comment about using the stuff my wife uses confuses me. Why would I put Bons Bons on my trailer? thanks Larry
  24. Hello, Recently spooled some Yozuri on my spinning reel. Does cold weather effect this line? I plan on using this on my walleye gear I take to MN in the fall. It can get a bit chilly. Will it act like mono in the cold weather? thanks Larry
  25. Hello, Looking to buy a Tierra. The best price I can find is $114. Does anyone know where I can find it cheaper? thanks Larry Nevermind, I couldn't wait so I bit the bullet and bought one from Cabellas.
