Retrieve Speed/technique
Thanks guys. Finding the depth shouldn't be too hard since the lake I fish is only 7ft max. Sounds like Ill just have to expieriment with different speeds.

Question: Should I Tip Delivery Drivers?
I sometimes get tips when Im handling carryout customers. Usually they're written in on credit card slips. Dont get too much cash on the inside. Were not allowed to do a tip jar either. I wish I still made 6.10 on the road. I used to when I lived in Baltimore and worked for a coorporate store. Then I moved and all the stores around here are franchise so the standards are a little different. Your right about insiders working extra hard when its busy. I enjoy helping out on the makeline and all but when its a crazy busy weekend, Im usually pretty relieved when my delivery is ready. Its kind of like I get to take 20 minute breaks all night long. If I had to stay in the store all the time, I'd go crazy.

Retrieve Speed/technique
How fast should I be retrieving my t-rigged worms? I was under the impression that slower was better. I was out tonight not having any luck and this family of 4 shows up. In about 45 minutes, they caught 2 pickerel and a 15 inch LM. They were all using orange worms with a yellow tail. I have some orange with a chartruese tail so I figured it was close enough and tied one on but I didn't get anything. The only difference I could see was they were retrieving pretty steadily and I was going slow. Eventually I got fed up and was planning on leaving so I reeled my worm in as fast as I could and something hit it right near the shore. Missed the fish cuz I wasn't expecting it. So is slower really better? And what about cranks/spinnerbaits? They're supposed to be fished faster right? Also I recently bought a Rebel Pop'n Image. What is the proper way to retrieve this lure? Ive tried reeling it in with a stop/start cadence and I've tried walking the dog but no matter what I do it seems like it keeps rolling over on its back. It always rights itself afterwards but I don't think its supposed to roll like that.

Question: Should I Tip Delivery Drivers?
I wouldn't make it as a paintball ref. I'd end up shooting the 12 year olds.

Question: Should I Tip Delivery Drivers?
Thats very true. And for the record, Ive given movers and and people delviering furniture 15-20 dollar tips. They're destroying their bodies hauling a heck of a lot of weight that I definitly don't want to. Im glad to hear that so many of you give good tips. I kinda assumed that most here would because its a good group of people here on the forums. In this business you learn to read people pretty well. Like 9 out of 10 times, if i take someones order over the phone, I can tell whether or not they're going to tip.

Walkin The Dog
Well since Im broke as a joke right now, Ill try it horizontally and see how that goes. I'd like to try and get a couple more rods for different types of baits and techniques but I guess I'll just have to make do for now.

So What Kind Are You?
Lol! That was me all morning long. Lost 4 hooks/worms and a crankbait in about an hour and a half. Would have been nice if I could have at least caught a fish for all my troubles.

Walkin The Dog
Finally got around to trying this technique today. I think I got the lure action right. Had it darting from side to side. The only thing is that the way im holding and moving the rod seems kind of awkward. In the video he's kind of tapping the rod down and reeling at the same time. Most of the time when Im tapping, Im tapping into the water or holding the rod really high to avoid that. Im standing at about the same level as the water and hes on a boat, a few feet higher. Im also using a 6'6'' rod. Is this better done with a shorter rod or from a slightly higher elevation? Sorry if these are dumb questions. Im just trying to get this technique down.

Caught My First Crankbait Fish Today
Grrr....Went out this morning and lost 1 of my 2 crankbaits. Kind of hard to build a respectable lure collection when i keep losing them. Oh well. Christmas is on the way. Ill probably just tell everyone to get me BPS gift certificates.

Question: Should I Tip Delivery Drivers?
I do prefer cash tips. Like others have said, you dont have to claim them. I do keep track of them and I claim a good portion but Uncle Sam has no way of knowing how much cash I made. I would be very surprised if many people who make cash tips claim all of them. Im pretty sure its legal. In most restoraunts minimum for servers is around 2 or 3 bucks. As far as delivery drivers, most make less on the road. I make minimum in the store but only like 3.50 on the road. Ups and FexEx guys, no. I guess I propbably would but I can't remember the last time I was home or awake when they dropped a package off. As for tip jars, yes. Dunkin Donuts or Subway or whatever. Usually only a dollar and the coin change. I tip delivery people more because gas is really expensive and waitstaff more because I know they're only making 2 something an hour.

Question: Should I Tip Delivery Drivers?
Amen brother. I feel the same way. Believe me, I'd love to say something like that. But if it got back to the manager, I could end up without a job. Asking for tips is a big no-no. Your telling me man. Just put a new fuel pump on my car. 500 dollar repair. Thats often very true. Looks can be decieving. Theres this one house I go to. Huge piece of property, 4 car garage, giant house, bmw always parked in the driveway. You know they got money. Dude never tips. Theres this other guy that lives in a rundown trailerpark. Always 5 bucks. Had myself a better night tonight. Took less deliveries but made more money cuz every gave a nice tip.
