Thats kind of interesting. I never knew that. Guess I never really thought about it either. Very true. If I take a double run and I know one address has never tipped me and I know the other one has, the guys who's tipped me before is getting his food first. I don't know about other places but here the delivery charge is not paid to the driver. We even print that on the front of all our pizza boxes. Dude, thats insane! It that were the case around here, I would never have it delivered. As far as waiters/waitresses go, I always tip something and its ususlly 15-20% of the bill. However, me and my girlfriend have both waited tables before and we know what good service should be so if the service is sub-par, the tip definitly suffers. They still get something but not nearly as much. If the service is either exceptionally good or exceptionally bad, we make it a point to say something to the manager.

Im still learning too and kinda have the same problem you do. However, I will say that it seems like the topwater bite is usually pretty good in the early morning. Try frogs, poppers, or some other topwater bait around sunrise.

I'd say Im probably 'the journalist'. Maybe a little of 'the newbie' too except Im gonna keep at it. Not planning on quitting anytime soon. I can't help it if I just started fishing this summer. Trying to get away from 'the newbie'.

So I got this crankbait and it keeps wanting to pull off to the right when I retrieve it. Anything I can do to correct this?

Definitly a beast of a fish

Lost my only spinnerbait 2 trips ago. Gonna pick up another one when i get some money. I have a couple jigs but dont quite know how to fish them properly. I should probably read up on some of the topics about jigs. Carolina rig sounds like it would have been a good option. Why didn't I think of that? Thanks for the tips guys.

Answer: YES YOU SHOULD! Ok. Here comes my rant about work. So as you might guess from the title, I deliver pizzas. Had a horrible night tonight. Don't get me wrong. I like my job. But I also like making money to pay my bills and as a delivery driver, most of that money comes from tips. Took 10 deliveries and out of those 10, 6 of them stiffed me and the other 4 only gave me a dollar or 2 each. Now I understand that Im not gonna make 50 bucks every single night but sometimes its just ridiculous. I mean, its one thing if your food takes way too long to get there or if your order is really messed up or if the driver is rude to you, but Im good at what I do and tonight I was on point with it. Every order I took was at the house within 25 minutes and Im always polite and respectful to the customers. One ladys total was 17.99. Most people would give me the 20 and if they werent going to tip, they'd get theyre 2 bucks back and be good with it. This lady actually went back inside to find 99 cents so she could get 3 back. For real? You can't even let that penny slide? Went to another house and knocked on the door. This guy who sounds really angry about something yells "who is it?" What do you mean who is it? You just ordered pizza! Who do you think is knocking on your door 20 minutes later? And what are you so angry about? Im bring you your dinner. Piping hot and fresh. You should be happy to see me! No tip there. Big surprise. I tell ya, I just don't get people. Ive always taken care of my delivery drivers. Ever since I was old enough to have my own job/money. 5 dollars is my standard tip. It doesn't matter if I only order 8 dollars worth of food. Dudes getting 5 bucks. Ill give more if its a big order or if the guy has to drive far to get to me. I've driven 10 miles to someones house to take an 85 dollar order. They paid with a hundred dollar bill and didn't give me a dime. Seriously? You have 85 dollars to drop on pizza but you can't kick me 4 or 5 bucks to cover the gas I used to get to your house? ARGH! It's so frustrating sometimes. You don't have to give 5 dollars everytime if you dont want to but at least give something. Theres been times Ive wanted to order food but decided not to because I didn't have enough money to give the driver a decent tip. Most delivery people only make minimum wage and when they're on the road they make less than that. Thanks for taking the time to read this. Needed to get it off my chest. So remember to tip your delivery drivers and if you have kids, make sure you encourage them to tip too because in my expierience, teenagers are really bad about not tipping.

It seemed like a lot of activitiy to me too. It's usually not like this. Think there was some kind of party or something. They had balloons tied to the park gate. Usually if i see anyone else, there might be 1 or 2 fishing from shore and then maybe 2 or 3 boats on the water at a time.

I was just wondering if too much traffic on the lake could affect fish behavior. I usually at least get a couple bites but nothing at all today. Not even little nibbles from the bluegill. Im usually there around sunrise and Im the only one there. No one on the lake and no one on the shore. Today I didn't get there til about 1130 and probably saw half a dozen bass boats, a whole bunch of people in rental kayaks, and like 10-15 people fishing from the shore. The lakes not that big (maybe 20 acres). Could all this possibly affect whether or not I catch fish or do you think they just weren't biting today?

OMG! I hate the wind! Think I had the most frustrating day ever fishing today. Aside from the fact that I didn't catch anything, the wind just wouldn't let up. Not gale force winds or anything. Just a steady 10mph wind. Whenever I'd cast, the wind would carry my lure a good 20-30 feet away from where I wanted it and then once I'd start my retrieve the wind would keep putting ridiculous amounts of slack in my line. I tried to move around a bit and kinda fish the way the wind was blowing but at the lake I was at, there's only so many spots you can fish from the shore. My weighted texas rigged worms seemed like they weren't sinking properly and fishing weightless senkos was completly futile since the wind blowing the line just kept them on the surface. Didn't have too much of a problem with crankbaits but nothing was hitting on them. Anyone else have any of these problems? Im still kinda new to fishing so it might just be me. Any tips?

Really enjoyed reading everyones replys. Like I said, Im not really into mounting and all that. Just curious about the sizes. Sounds like I've got a ways to go for my trophy bass. Everything Ive caught so far has only been between 1 and 3 pounds or so.

Just curious. How big would a fish have to be for you to consider it a trophy fish? Like, if you wanted a fish to mount and put on the wall (not that im into that), how big would you want it to be?

Thats beat man. Hope you find out who did it. My dad had a 69 Impala that he restored himself. Didn't have a garage at the time so it was parked on the street and a couple of 8 year olds took a metal spoon to both sides. When he confronted their parents they were like "They're just kids". How does that make it ok? Whats the world coming to? I swear I hate people more and more every day.

Went out earlier today and got another one on a crank. This ones a little better. 2 trips and 2 fish on cranks. Think Im starting to get the hang of this. This is probably the worst picture ever taken of me but at least the fish looks good.

I like to get to the lake right around sunrise and the topwater bite is usually pretty good so most of the time I throw a frog. Started fishing crankbaits recently and been having a lot of luck so I might try them the next morning I go out and see how I do.
