  1. Trying to decide on these two reels for frogging and occasional flipping. I'm leaning towards the daiwa since it has better line capacity and drag. On the other hand I'm familiar with the shimano core series and I love them. The reel is going to be filled with sunline fx2 50/60 lb(which one?)( what color blue or green line?) and paired on a dobyns 735c then later onto a megabass orochi x4 destruction f6 72. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated
  2. This is a really broad subject. You have to provide more info about where and what you want to fish
  3. For a bass then probably but anything else then prob not
  4. the problem is they don't make two of those reels anymore. If price isn't a problem I reccommend the shimano core 50mg7 or aldebaran bfs. But if I had to pick between the two reels you listed then go with the scorpion.
  5. If you consider a round reel, take look at the daiwa Luna series
  6. I have quite a few friends that fish and that's pretty much our lives haha.
  7. having working parents that support you fishing as well as saving birthday and Christmas money helps out a lot. I admit I'm spoiled but that's all I spend money on pretty much.
  8. My largest bait I throw is an 8" hudd and r2s s waver. Along with a lunker punker
  9. Good day on lakes with spotted bass for me such as nacimento is approx 30-40 spotted bass but they usually never exceed over 3lbs. They're typically in the 10-16 inch range. An unforgettable day though with my uncle and I was catching an easy 90+ bass in that same size range though. It happened only once in the fall. On the Cali delta a great day is 40+ fish with at least over one that exceeds 5lbs +
  10. I spent roughly $4000 in the last 10 months on tackle and 5 new dobyns champion and dx series rods along with lews reels and a shimano core. Since I'm 16 and a non boater my money pretty much goes towards fishing gear strictly. My biggest expense was my dobyns dx 744 with a shimano core 101mg. This is an addiction but at least the money is going towards something good and not towards drugs and alcohol.
  11. Hmm... I reccommend that you save $50 more and try an abu veritas, st croix mojo, or *** rod paired with a lews speed spool /shimano caenan/daiwa aird reel for about $200. I think you will be pleased with doing that instead. Ive owned the st croix mojo bass and used a friends veritas before I switched to all dobyns rods and theyre great for the money. along with all the positive comments about the *** rod. Btw I fish about 2 times a week and a highschool tournament once a month along with a few scattered pro/ams and open tournaments here and there. Just my opinion here but I think that would be a better option.
  12. Hi, I'm looking at possibly purchasing a megabass orochi x4 f4.5. I was curious to hear what you guys think about them and how do they compare to other high end rods such as the dobyns champion extreme series and loomis glx. How sensitive, strong, light and balanced are they. Thanks
  13. A 4" hand poured finesse worm. That's always my go to bait if nothing else works, but that's a rare occasion that nothing else will work
  14. I can try but the guys at my local shop know what they have and aren't dumb
  15. haha not for me. I'm glad it's a 51e.
  16. I probably can't talk the people at my local tackle shop down but I do have a members card to get 10% off so it works out. I'm probably going to pay around $160 for it
  17. I just realized my local tackle shop still has one curado 51e for sale for $179. Is this a good buy or should I pass on it. Also if I were to buy it whats the re sale value on it in good condition. Is it a desired reel?
  18. really? I love mine for cranking. It launches cranks with ease.
  19. haha I have all lews tp besides one core and I don't plan on selling that
  20. I'm looking to start airbrushing my crankbaits. Any good starter kits reccommended would help. I'm looking to spend max $60 on one. Thanks
  21. I'm very Interested in those. May I be able to see them
