What Is Your One Weakness....
Hand poured straight tail 4 inch worms, I have a whole Plano box devoted to one specific color and probably a good 400 worms in it, then two other Plano 3700s with some misc colored hand pours, I probably have easily over 800 worms right now stockpiled in my boxes, and had to special order that many since I bought the whole stock at the local tackle shop, sadly I like using them that much it cost me a tournament win since there were three teams that caught six lbers on senkos and I refused to put away the finesse worm, but I ended up catching a good 20+ bass instead of one 6lber with a few dinks, at least I was culling fish non stop, too add to that I can't stop buying hand tied jigs and dobyns rods, I bought my first in December and now I own 4 of them

Reapers?
If you're from Cali have you ever heard of keeper custom worms or pro worms, they make the best hand pours on the market IMO, I use their reapers along with iovino ones and occasionally the vibragrub, as for jig trailers spotted bass seem to love them more than pork trailers for me.

Anyone Use Firetiger Color Much?
Pre spawn in muddy water a few days ago was the ticket to me winning a tournament on fire tiger
-
Reapers?
May I ask what brand reapers you bought, where you bought them
-
Reapers?
I absolutely love them on a Texas rig, darter head or the best way for me is the split shot rig/Carolina, I fish them pretty often and I also flip with the 4-6 inch reapers

Which Phenix?
I've felt both m1 and recon 2and go with the recon all the way, btw it floats in the water if you drop it.

What G Loomis Rod For Me?

New Spinning Rod
Ha I just realized that as well that he's looking at bps, IMO try tw, they're amazing at packing rods to prevent damage and sometimes cheaper than other places
-
New Spinning Rod
I'm not trying to get him to buy a champ unless its on sale then jump on that deal but why not spend an extra 20-30 for a quality phenix rod
-
New Spinning Rod
IMO I dislike my crucial and mojo bass but I love my dobyns champion, if I were you look id into a phenix recon 2 or a m1, they are the best bang for your buck, I use my friends all the time and love them and would be my main choice of rod if I weren't stuck on dobyns rods, also look into a dobyns savvy and powells aren't bad either

Zara Super Spook

Critique My Resume
I'm in a similar situation as you but ill be fishing the ca state championship and im winning the local hs tournaments often, I'm not looking for sponsors but I do always promote my dobyns rods since IMO they're the best, I even like them more than all the loomis rods besides their nrx

Beginner On Making Spooks, Need Some Help
I like it to sit lower in the rear so would a 1/8 work or should I do 3/16, I prefer to try to get right the first time and not have to experiment with weights, I'm probably going to use white pine pre turned bodies to see if I like even using home made ones first, the are 5.5 inches long

Beginner On Making Spooks, Need Some Help
I'm going to try to make 5-7 inch spooks on a lathe just like the heddon Zara spook, what wood is good to use and also what is a good size weight to add to the rear of the bait, I'm open to any tips and advise thanks.

Zara Super Spook
Definitely not too big, I wish they actually made a bigger one, I went to a private club one time full of Florida strains and caught 8 bass over 5 lbs and probably 10+ that were under 5lbs all on the super spook my largest that day was 7lbs and DON'T remove any trebles, if anything replace them with sharper better quality ones.

Using Swimbaits
When I throw one its either a huddleston or a top shelf magnum in any water clarity during the fall and winter coming into early spring when they stock trout in the local lakes. As for a place to fish them I throw them on points and river mouths where I find lots of rainbows breaking the surface jumping but I slow roll it on the bottom. By the way you may want to specify what type of swimbaits and the size and weight. the kind I throw such as hudds are a bit different than say 3-5 inch soft hollow bodies and hard bodied swimbaits like Roman mades and mattlures.

Help With A Good Rod
for that range I'd definitely look into a dobyns champion on sale or the phenix recon, they're both amazing rods

Pflueger Templar
