  1. Most memorable would have to be Bay Lake in Disney World. It was a guided tour on a Nitro - Fantastic fishing, fantastic views. You can see people queued up in the Magic Kingdom while you haul in bass from a boat, there is nothing like it.
  2. I believe that is called a Gordian Knot.
  3. My lake feeds a stream via it's water level control structure. The wash pipe has carved a pretty nice hole at the head of the stream, it can't be more than 15 feet across and four feet deep. That spot is full of huge bluegill and fat bass gorging themselves on bugs and minnows. There are tons of turtles and snakes. It is where I take my kids so they will catch the 'fishing fever'. We can pull sunnies out of that hole all day long on just a tiny little grub on a jighead.
  4. What is the bait? There might be an equivilent from another company that might have a silent version...
  5. You can't go wrong with Chartreuse with a black back. I have caught more on that color than just about any other.
  6. Don't limit your thinking to a bass being only directly underneath your lure. Fish might be viewing from directly underneath, but it is much more likely they would be looking at the lure from an angle, with the sides totally visible. So the sides do matter. It's the tops of the topwater baits that don't matter.
  7. Didn't see this before I posted. But yeah, what he said. :)
  8. Havoc has some great baits. Gander Mountain's line of baits is excellent and made by Big Bite Bait Co I believe... Something that I have resorted to in order to save money on plastics is to buy Mend It. It costs are $14 for a bottle, but saves me literally dozens of bags of plastics a year. At around $4 a pop for a bag, the expenditure on the Mend it makes perfect sense.
  9. Usually a spinnerbait, green/white with willow leaf blades. Sometimes I start with a squarebill crank or a topwater frog depending on times of day/conditions.
  10. I am a fan of the Cane Toad.
  11. I love that walmart regularly cleans house on their tackle. I cleaned up on hooks and a few cranks a few weeks ago, hoping to see my local store drop the prices on their war eagles... Will clean them out!
  12. I fish from shore mostly and love fishing cranks. My most productive (and easily found and cheap) are KVD1.5s and Bandits (100 and 200 series).
  13. I had a vixen, never threw it. When I saw folks were getting $80 for some on ebay a year or so ago, I sold it. I don't miss it, I like the Cultiva Tango Dancer more than any other walking bait...
  14. Last few years I've been doing good with Yo Zuri Vibes and KVD Red Eye Shads, right off the ice.
  15. Bang-Os are hard to find, ebay will be your best bet. I currently see 370 smithwick rogues on there too... Walmart should have rogues, if not order some from BPS or Cabela's. Or one of this site's sponsors. Should be easy as pie to find, they are a common lure.
  16. Man, I gotta step it up. I've only fished in 14% of the states. Virginia West VA Maryland Pennsylvania New Jersey North Carolina Florida
  17. Me too. I cannot fish with a normal baitcaster, must have one that reels left.
  18. They look very similar to Tornado Snakes by Optimum Baits, but I haven't seen any with the bumps all over them.
  19. I've caught bass that have been gut hooked with line hanging out of their mouths. Twice I've gotten one that must have swallowed the hooks and had a few inches of braid hanging out of its rear vent...
  20. I've had it before, and not just powerbait. My basement flooded, and white powerdery mold (maybe mildew) grew on the outsides of my tackleboxes and got in a few bags of soft plastics (not to mention the basement walls, floor and everything else down there... ). Anyhow, it wipes right off. I haven't noticed it having any effect on the bites.
  21. I had red/vermillion lenses on a pair of glasses that were superb. Sharp, excellent in all light conditions. Sadly, they are sitting at the bottom of a lake. *sniff*
  22. Sorry for the wrong forum again, (see what I mean about my inevitable idiocy?).
  23. I have had the Jig/Worm rod for several years and could not have been happier with it, until I broke the tip off at the end of last season. My Fault... I just replaced it and bought two others, the price was right. I saved enough to buy the 13month insurance in case my inevitable idiocy rears its ugly head and I step on another rod.... Now to find two good new reels...
