  1. Roboworm on the dropshot for me.
  2. I use the weedless Eagle Claws and have no problems. Cheap, easy and effective. I have not seen them in red, will look for them next time at the store.
  3. Trim one of the legs to be shorter than the other. I heard it helps, though I haven't tried it myself.
  4. I like the round headed shaky head hook with a screw lock. Owner makes an expensive version, but I buy the cheap Vicious ones at Walmart and have been happy with them so far. I have some spot removers that I got on clearance from Gander, but they feel too heavy for most situations that I fish. As for worms, you can use just about anything on a shaky rig. I use BPS cut tails, Zoom Trick and Finesse worms, Rage Tail Thumpers, and others. I have tried flukes and brush hogs too, and while not conventional for a shaky head, they work very well.
  5. A true genius. Oh, and here: http://www.grammar.cl/english/there-their-they-are.htm
  6. Live Target has some 8-10 foot craw pattern Cranks, I bought a bunch from Dick's on clearance a few months ago. I haven't tried them out yet.
  7. Feel your pain, I am struggling with it too. I keep varying my presentation, line size, depth, weight size, and bait. Eventually I hope to stumble upon that magic combination or just have it 'click' into place. I have tried it several outings, so far 6 bites, 2 fish... I am down to 6lb mono and don't feel too comfortable going down to 4... I am trying floro this weekend, and hope this does the trick.
  8. I didn't think Virginia had any truly big fish left. I thought it was a catfish or a carp for about 90 seconds as it towed my kayak around the lake. When I got a good look at her, I knew this was the bass of my life... Last personal best (which might have been this very fish 2 years ago) I had a scale, but no camera. This time I have the proof... Best father's day gift I could have gotten (although the BPS gift cards from my kids are not too shabby either...)
  9. Good luck with them, I've always wondered about those lots they sell. I am curious to know how they work out, so great or not so great, please let us know.
  10. Yeah, right. It is only on a lull. It will come back twice as strong. Signed, A fellow addict.
  11. That bait is great. I have some and some giggy sticks left. I'm holding on to them though. Can't even find them on ebay...
  12. I switched from Terminators to War Eagles. Never looked back. Favorite spinnerbaits I have ever used. I don't have to fix them after every fish either. They stay in shape really well.
  13. Dude, you skipped over the entire context of my post. I acknowledged there were older baits. I gave my opinion on them. I also said 'MODERN froggin'... Context is key my friend.
  14. Top Water Frogs, both Soft Bodied and Soft Plastic. There have been floating frog baits for years but they were generally crap. Spro and Zoom created probably the most fun style of fishing I have ever had. (Maybe it wasn't spro and zoom, but they are the earliest versions of modern froggin' that I can think of.)
  15. I visit the Orlando area for a few weeks each year, I pack light, and have narrowed it down to my must haves when visiting. If I need a replacement or something that I see other guys catching on, I just go to BPS and grab it. Here is what I bring, it all fits in a pretty small tacklebag (aka Walmart Plastic Bag ) Zoom Magnum Trick Worms Green Pumpkin, Watermelon Red Fleck (Weightless, Wacky or Shaky head) Magnum Finesse Worms, Green Pumpkin, Watermelon Red Fleck (Weightless, Wacky or Shaky head) Senkos - Watermelon Pearl Laminate, Baby Bass, Watermelon seed, Green Pumpkin Culprit 10 and 7 inch worms, Red Shad, Junebug, Blueberry, Watermelon Seed (Gammy Jobee Hook) Rage Tail Thumper 7" (want to try the 10" this year) Ribbit Frogs Baby Bass or Watermelon/Red with Pearl Belly. Zoom Horny Toads Brown/white swirl (this year I am going to try them on the Yum Doubleup Rig) Koppers Live Target Frogs. Bullfrog or the dark version of bullfrog War Eagle Green White and Sexy Shad spinnerbaits.
  16. It looks like the lure version of those White Walkers on Game of Thrones...
  17. It is a fun lure. I usually have my son use them and he catches about a ton of sunfish on them. Every once in a while a bass.
  18. 100% Bandit 200 Series. Awesome little bait.
  19. Rage Tail Thumper=MONEY. There are some days when my 7" RT Thumper does not reach the bottom of the lake, the bass just inhale it and keep swimming. This is my favorite mid sized worm of all time. I have not tried the 10" yet, think it might be too big for most of the areas I fish, but I'm gonna give it a try this summer anyway.
  20. I love the 7" Thumper worm. It produces just about everywhere for me.
  21. The Strike King KVD1.5 is the best under $10. Heck, it's better than a bunch over $10 too...
  22. Get your hands on some Uncle Josh Sizmic Toad Jr. baits, you can still find them on overstock or eBay... They are topwater frog baits that are shorter (3.25inches) and slimmer than the usually bulkier baits. When the fish are just playing with the frogs instead of hitting them hard, I've found downsizing to this little frog will help a lot.
  23. Catching Concepts Crankbaits.
  24. No crank I have performs better than the LC RC1.5, but the KVD1.5 is right up there. Love these baits. Just bought some of the rattling version from BPS, but haven't gotten them wet yet... As for tuning, I have only ever had to tune Rapalas and a few Normans out of the box, never a KVD1.5. I think that the one you got was a fluke, not the norm at all. I have about a dozen of them, and each of them ran true right from the get-go.
  25. Very Interesting. I will experiment with this, I have noticed that lately that second hook seems to bury itself in the gills, eye or soft part... How much does it affect the action of the bait(s)?
