  1. I made my own with some mend-it. 8-)
  2. I bought a Daiwa Megaforce a few weeks ago and it casts beautifully. Other than the Daiwa Viento, it is my best reel... I recently discovered, while taking it apart, that it's most plastic, and I don't like that at all... I still have the receipt and plan on taking it back this weekend. I have my eye on a Quantum Code CD860CX Reel, basically the same gear ratio as the megaforce, but it's made out of metal parts... How do the reels stack up, anybody had any problems with the Quantum at all?
  3. I've heard about the stuff, but thought it was just a scent... It is a dye too?
  4. Just bought a boatload of Rage Shads for $3 a pack at walmart on clearance, they only had the white ones for that price... Other than spike it, what are some coloring or dying options I can use. I don't see myself going through 35 white shads anytime soon, so figure I can stand to experiment a little.
  5. Didn't know if this was inappropriate to post or not, and I don't want to get political, but this is unbelievable... http://sports.espn.go.com/outdoors/saltwater/news/story?id=4975762.
  6. If you put a piece of chalk in your tacklebox, it will absorb the water and dampness and help cut down on rust.
  7. I have a bag that I won with a lot of stuff from Ebay... I haven't gotten around to trying them yet, but they're in my soft plastic frogs this year. I would snap up a few from the bargain bin if I had a chance... I really like Bass Assassin baits, I think overall they are an under-rated company.
  8. Somebody got ripped off. That isn't much different than the chrome sexy shad pattern. It looks like they just added a clear coat with gold glitter mixed in. Oh, and they changed the eye color... BFD.
  9. They were 6-8 bucks a pack last year when they debuted... That's what I would call a hint. I wouldn't bother trying them out. In the Off chance that you do like them, they won't be available anymore since just about everyone from Gander to Dicks and Walmart have discontinued them...
  10. It will be like a Banjo Minnow, and a Senko. And you can only rig it on a wiggle rig with a Flying Lure hook. IBTL
  11. I do well with firetiger around NoVa and the muddy streams in the spring. The color I can't buy a bite on is that doggone black/blue combo... One of the most popular color schemes nationwide and I can't get a nibble on it... I'm a glutton for punishment though, and bought three more black/blue jigs at Gander the other day...
  12. There is a line of baits, I think discontinued, called Rattlesnake Plastics. I only find them in KMart bargain bins. They have a finesse style plastic worm that flat out floats... The texture is a little odd (cheap?), but they stand up straight as a pin on a shaky head...
  13. I'll put my black w/white herringbone PopR up against any other.
  14. I just put them on a hook and fish them t-rigged, weightless usually, but sometimes with a 1/16oz weight...If you are going to buy Flappin' Hogs, I would invest in some Mend-it. It will save you in the long run...
  15. Chatterbaits, Dancin' Eels, King Shad, Helicopter Lure... And... Gulp! Sucks!
  16. Stingjam..........Absolutely Amazing.
  17. x3. I've kept every single type of worm I own (except gulp and elaztech) in ziplock freezer bags.
  18. I refuse to buy the thought that lead, in sinker form, is bad from the environment. I mean, don't we get lead from the the environment???
  19. I use them when I'm getting small fish on the baby brush hogs. The slightly heftier profile seems to put off some of the dinks. I wish they would come out with more colors for them...
  20. I caught my PB Snapping turtle on a black berkley beast.
  21. Some of my favorite baits... I like doing Ebay searches on Bagleys and using the pulldown to sort by 'Highest First'... Seems like every week there's a single lure selling for hundreds... I have baits from the 70s 80s, and the recent ones... Out of all the baits, there was a series of recent ones that are my favorites. B1, 2, and 3s, square bills with two separate line ties so each lure can have a different swimming action... They don't command the high $$$ like the old ones, but these work the best for me.
  22. That is one of the prettiest crankbaits I've ever seen. When I finally start making mine, I hope it's at least half as nice as yours. Nice, nice work.
  23. Bandit 700 series. Or Norman DD22s.
  24. A good started kit could be gotten at walmart. Grab a couple of Bandit 100s (I prefer the rootbeer and white/chartreuse colors), a couple of Rapala DT 10s (I like the perch color and baby bass color), two bags of Zoom flukes (green pumpkin and albino colors), two bags of Kinami Flashes (green pumpkin and black colors), a couple of bags of culprit worms (pumpkinseed and green pumpkin colors), a Terminator spinnerbait in white and green, a Booyah buzzbait in black, a Mepps fury #3 with red dots, some lazer-sharp hooks, and some bullet weights. This should only be about $70. Then fish them all like crazy. When you figure out what style of fishing you like, as well as what works, spend the rest of the hundred on those types of baits.
  25. Bagley Small Fry - final answer...
