Houston: The Natural has a problem ....
That makes me feel so much better about my addiction.

Worst tackle investment you have made...
Reel Magic, Helicopter Lure, Gulp, Yo-Zuri FC line, Mann's Hardbaits, Mann's softbaits, and Matzuo crankbaits. I'm sure there are a ton more, but can't remember them right now.

NoVA - Round Hill VA, Hill High Orchard Pond
Round hill is about 10 miles west of Leesburg on Rt7. Wading the river is fun, but watch out for drunken bubbas and his 14 drunken cousins as well as loads of illegal immigrants at the public access places. Lately, wanting to avoid the human trash, I have my wife drop me off at a secluded spot upstream from Harper's Ferry. She then goes into town and shops while I proceed downstream and fish. There are tons of spots to jump in, but ask a landowner first, or they get mad and chase you... A great spot, though busy with river rafters, is the spot where the Shenandoah collides with the Potomac. Park on the side of the road on Rt340 (1 mile stretch of road in VA). Go down the hill and rock hop and catch smallmouth all day long. Got a 4 pounder there last year, and plenty of 1s and 2s.

NoVA - Round Hill VA, Hill High Orchard Pond
I never see people fishing this pond right off of Rt 7 in Round Hill. I called and asked the orchard if I could fish it, and they said OK, the owner lets anyone fish there. Anyone try this place out? Should I not bother, and just procede to wading the Shenandoah 5 minutes up the road?

Randall's hollow swimbait mods and hooks
Cool, I'm headed to Gander to pick up some hooks. Maybe with the modifications and the right hooks these stupid things will get me a nibble.

Daiwa DB Minnow and Shad Master
I just picked up 4 DB minnows and 2 Shad Masters at Dicks for $3 each, and think I got a pretty good deal. I've never fished with these lures, but they seem to be comparable with other nice japanese baits. The hooks on the Shadmasters sucked, already traded them out for VMC barbarians, but the hooks on the DB Minnows were very nice. Anybody used either of these two baits? The DB Minnow reminds me or a slender LC Pointer, and the Shadmaster reminds me of an X-Rap Shad without the feather dressing... Will be trying them out tonight.

Am I missing anything?
Lunker City (maker of the Sluggo) makes a soft plastic lure called the Salad Spoon that comes across the top of that slop better than anything else I've fished. Bass crush it. It is called a spoon, but is not anything like what you think a spoon is... It is soft plastic, and a cross between a mouse bait and a giant grub. Check out their website for what it looks like: http://www.lunkercity.com/

Aquarium Bass
I searched... I get 9 hits on the word aquarium (one of them being this thread), and none of them deal with keeping bass in one. The closest is the swimming pool turned into a pond...this is a little different IMO... Any other suggestions that would be at all helpful? Slomoe - Is one of those topics that becomes heated... which I guess is what you mean with the popcorn emoticons?

Aquarium Bass
I want to have a bass so there is something cool to look at in the winter when I'm snowed in and can't go fishing. I was thinking about putting a turtle in there too...

Aquarium Bass
I used to have lizards snakes, and so have a bunch of aquariums laying around doing nothing. One is very large, I forget the gallons, but was pretty big - enough to house a boa... I have been toying with the idea of throwing a bass and some bluegill in there, some crawfish and leeches and making my own little ecosystem. Any thoughts/advice about what I need to keep in mind?

Topwater
I fish mainly at three lakes in Winchester VA, and buzzbaits, cane toads, and bronze eye frogs have all produced majorly for me for the last 3 years. Just got 4 on a Cavitron this weekend.

Question about trick worms
I started putting these on a shaky head jig, but wanted them to stand straight up in the water, so I took one of my grandmother's hypodermic needles that she used for diabetes, and inject a bubble into the tail. It might be my new favorite way of fishing.

SNEAK PEAK from Berkley
I don't like gulp either, because it pulls in the sunfish. It looks like those little curlies would get nipped off by a sunny in a minute. Interesting though.

Night Fishing???
They will. I use a black with white herringbone Bagley DB3 and Bagley Killer B2, and both work very well at night. I also have a Rapala floating minnow that I painted black for night fishing.

Culprit
I got the 7.5 inchers.

Culprit
Haven't bought any culprit worms for a long time, so grabbed some packs at Gander... Got some neat colors (blueberry, redberry, firetiger, and some normal ones), but all of them had a pinch/pucker in the midsection, every single one. I don't have any others to compare these to, is this a defect or how culprit is doing things these days?

Whats the strangest way you've seen people fishing?
Funny Thread! I also see a ton of people fishing a spinning rig upside down. I saw a guy at a pond in Winchester fishing without his reel. It broke some how, and he unscrewed the spool and was using just it to worm fish. He caught a dink, and it took him forever to bring it in. He had absolute control over the drag system (his hand) though.

red hooks by mistake
I don't believe there's any significant difference. I dunno what depths you plan to use them at, but the deeper they go, the more that the red will just look gray to the fish due to red light not penetrating as deep as other colors of light... I do not believe that they trigger more strikes as some sort of aggressive response to the color of blood like some people claim... I think that at best it accentuates a lure, at worst, in gin clear water it might look more unnatural to the fish.
