  1. Sup LMG lol #teamshimano Anyhow ran to cabelas to pick up the new Cumara for my Spinnerbait set up. They do not plan on getting the Cumaras. So I'm checking out the 3 other ones and decided on the Clarus. Me personally coulnt justify the extra $ for d**n near identical rods even though they sport stronger blanks. Wish me luck! Btw: Paired it with another Chronarch.
  2. Sup guys! Hope everyone had a good winter. Me and my buddy just picked up a couple of these rods at Cabelas today. Reg price I think was $70, they were on sale for $20. Figured what the hell, always wanted to try out Quantums stuff. Have any of you used these rods before? How do you like them? For $20 I dont think you can go wrong lol Ironic coming from a guy who has $300 rods.
  3. I own a old Sienna prob 8 years old and still works, current models the Sonora is hard to beat for the price.
  4. Merry Christmas everyone! My fiance got me another reel a Ci4 and a dozen or so lures(cranks and spinners) surprisingly on the money with all the colors for CT waters! Have a great day everyone!
  5. I also just got AbrazX and InvisX can't wait to try em out.
  6. Had Yozuri on Stadric 2500, Symetre 2500 and Sonora 2500 at same time at beginning of the year. Line memory was terrible, casting distance on all 3 setups was no more than 25ft, couldn't hold a knot, and 6# test was more like 0.0000001# strength, also line was as stiff as 25# fluoro I use for my saltwater leaders. Only reason I got it was because the rave reviews. Terrible experience I stripped the reels down after that first trip. The Sufix yea that's on the Chronarch, I think its 'Siege' very very very brittle the slightest nick or abrupt pressure line would snap. Pretty sure it was 12#. But like I said 1 day I'll try a fresh spool of that. As far as the Yozuri, they make great lures but the line is not my cup of tea.
  7. I have explained myself on other threads. Line is horrendous. Also not a fan of Sufix but that's from one spool that was used on a pre owned reel I tried. May try a fresh spool one day.
  8. Well it was more of the initial work which I've done countless times and never a prob that caused the problem. Lol so yea ur right!
  9. Yea its def a cool budget reel.
  10. Drumroll please dadadadadadadadadad SHIMANO by a landslide! Lmao
  11. Btw Yozuri's line is garbage
  12. Mono - Spider Wire Fluoro - Seaguar Braid - Spider Wire SW FTW!!!!
  13. 1 piece will have better sensitivity then a multi piece rod.
  14. So swapped out for the new reel today, my buddy said he's heard that the hot sauce works best when the reel desperately needs oil and that he doesn't have any experience with it of his own. So I was thinking about a old Shimano Sienna I have, $30 reel. This reel was bought for scenerio a buddy who doesn't have gear tags along. Any how so I get home reel was pretty rough, all I oiled was the right and left bearings of where the handle goes. Reeled a few times let it sit 10 mins or so later spinned it for idk maybe 200 cranks. Night and day difference. Still not smooth but much much better. Think I'll keep this stuff and try it out on some of my saltwater gear mid season next year.
  15. Strange Shimano hasn't announced what reel they recommend to be paired to this rod. They usually have a match in mind for all their rods/reels.
  16. My buddy owns the shop I could swap out something I bought at Walmart if I wanted too And it was like 300 times not just 3. Lmaooo
  17. Don't have the exp.under my belt yet on BC reels to know what's good for under 150. As far as spinning goes, $100 for a Shimano Symetre or even a little cheaper for a Sahara. Both are very good before jumping up to a Stradic.
  18. Swapping it out tomorrow, never again will I dissassemble a new reel, or any reel for that matter. Lmaooo 3 nights fiddling with this thing and I know its the 2 main gears are not aligning properly regardless of the stupid arrows on them. I give up. Also I looked into Hot Sauce a little bit more seems like quantum recommends you use their grease with the oil rather then just oiling alone on bearings. ??? Also the reviews of the stuff is really mixed so many people love it hate it or feel its same as regular oil. I prefer to have a quiet smooth reel over loud and fast.
  19. Own the 201E5 not that much time on the water with it but love it! Surprised you didn't opt for the 5 for crank baits.
  20. Fixed the anti reverse was a dumb mistake I had a washer upside down. Other than that I repositioned the the 2 main gears instead of having the arrows aligned diagnoly I put them horizontal all clunking is gone and spins fast as hell but its not smooth at all and its loud..?? Used to be very quiet
  21. I could just return it to my buddies shop and swap it out no problem, but I would like to fix it if I could.
  22. Thanks everyone for advise! Yes I went by the schematics I mustve broke something on it, gonna try the acetone on the bearings.
  23. @Iabass8 just re read ur post I took apart the roller bearing to check all the springs, just realized u mentioned different springs smh. There aren't any other springs except the switch on the front and that one is fine. I think it has something to do with the gear that has the little notch on it that goes against the grove part at the end of the shaft. If I purposely don't line it up its fine but doesn't spin more than 4 or so revolutions. @RyneB Bad experience with it??
  24. Just re did it again. Sealed bearings I don't know how to flush them.. But I did have it where it was silky smooth again but would only turn 4 times then stop. Got it working again but its back to grinding and anti reverse isn't working. Yes spinning reel
  25. So I get my black Friday order in today, trying Quantum Hot sauce for the first time. Grab one of my babies, I mean Shimanos, take spool off, handle off, bail assembly off oil everything clean it nice. Put it back together just as I've done all my reels a million times over. And I spin the retrieve, sure enough there's a knocking every revolution. I'm thinking at this point how could this be? Could the 2 oils F something up?? Nahhh. So I take off just what I took off and look. Seems like the shaft was loose for whatever reason. Now I've only fully disassembled one of my reels before and I didn't have a problem with that, (baitrunner 6500). So I say let's do it! Full dissassemlbe remove all parts clean, re grease, reassemble. Ok retrieve won't turn. Dissassemble again reassemble 12 or so times, knocking almost gone but now anti reverse doesn't work. I don't know what to do? But further more can 2 oils damage a reel before I screw something on another reel up.??
