  1. Just ordedred 280 6 inch jelly worms from Amazon for 17 dollars.100 tequilla green , 100 pumpkin chartreuse and 80 watermelon chartreuse . I had to spend 25 dollars to get them at that price so I ordered a Sanrenmu 710 pocet knife for $11.
  2. Have any of you have the same experience as me. A Red Eyed Shad will wiggle when falling. I can hear it going tick, tick, tick when I fish in a john boat . I bought a whole bunch of them because of it .A Rattle Trap ,on the other hand , just flops over and I catch a lot more fish on it. Again ,if Im in the john boat I can hear the fish smack the Trap .
  3. Me to. LOL , I catch crappie in my backyard .
  4. Once a long time ago ,I won a 500 boat tournament and anchored both days. It was windy , I was throwing Texas rigs in 15 to 20 foot of water and I needed to pick that point apart. I would not have won if I didnt anchor. I havent anchored in awhile but am prepared to do so .
  5. Never heard of this. Do you mean a metal lipped Mudbug ? They are great lures. I accidentally bought a Bomber Long A Minnow with a propeller on the back called the Prop A. I went to fish it one day , saw the propeller and thought "What the heck ? " Anyway it has become one of my most productive Big Bass lures. I bought a dozen of them when they were discontinued . A lot of folks say they struggle with post spawn fish . The BomberProp A excels at catching the Post spawners .
  6. Your from central illinois. Im from Hannibal Mo. Ill give lead if you decide to make them. I have lots of lead ,lots .
  7. Interesting idea. Make your lure act like its trying to hide from the predators .
  8. How do I say this ? Fishing is easy. Even techniques Ive never used I can do them competently . But , Im not a bass fisherman . I fish for whatever and wherever , One thing I can say for sure , Bass fishing has made me a lot better catfish angler .
  9. The water between the two dams is narrow like a river but usually with little or no current like a lake. I think its ten to twelve miles long. If you can get there in the autumn when the leaves change , its stunning.
  10. Thats a nice photo.. Id have it framed .
  11. I sometimes fish with my uncle , who uses zebco spincasters. Hes a horrible fisherman and a horrid caster except , He can pitch farther than me using a baitcast reel .
  12. I fish alone most of the time. I just dont worry about what could happen. I even anchor on the Mississippi river above dikes by myself. I do wear the pfd .
  13. I troll for channel cats. I will find them on flats with sonar and troll a crankbait through them. They hit like hammer .
  14. A Texas rigged 6 inch Jelly worm has to be one of the top producers maybe the top producing worm in history .
  15. If Ive been fishing hard that day , when I close my eyes at night I can still see the water and me casting at it .
  16. I call my panic box , terminal tackle . Lots of jigheads different styles and wights ,sinkers, toothpicks , wire , bobber stops, suspend dots , barrel swivels, keepers , DOA pinch weights... If Im not catching fish , I try to figure out what I want a lure to do then make it happen. I dont think I've been skunked in ten years . But I usually fish on good days in good spots.
  17. Floro stretches .Its been proven in testing. It just lays straighter in the water than mono , not a big bow in the line. A more direct connection from lure to rod.
  18. I use 6.5 foot medium action rods for a lot situations.
  19. I love spoon fishing , its just not real effective in the lowlwand reservoirs I fish. I went to Table Rock one year and simply stopped by a tackle store picked up some spoons recommenced there. Found some deep points on a topo map. Went to deep points and caught spotted bass. I didnt catch anything big but it was a blast .
  20. I use mono just because Im use to it and I fish mainly lowland reservoirs . I rarely crank deeper than 10 foot. If I was going for maximum depth I'd give floro a good go at it . I just dont get as technical as a lot of fisherman ans stick with what works and what I'm comfortable with . Trilene XL to be specific .
  21. Ive been wanting to try some double hooks on cranks.
  22. Im not superstitious at all but I hate catching a fish on the first cast. I did that once and didnt catch another fish .
  23. I have fished Texas rigs for forty years now. I have caught thousands , tens of thousands ? Never have tried to figure it up. I have lost more than my share of bass by every way possible. Rod to wimpy , rod to short, late on the hookset , line stretching , baits balling up.... Its called learning LOL
