What’S A Good Budget Wide Spool Spinning Reel?
I'm looking around as well, have two Daiwa's I'm not wild about. Was looking at the wide spool concept, and although I usually will have braid on spinning with a leader, I may try a micro spinning rod and thus may not use a leader. Anyway for the money the JM looks decent, I haven't see a US Reel but will look for one along with the Arbor. The Carbonlite gets horrible reviews so I crossed that one off the list. I though I read that lews was going to get on the wide spool train but I haven't seen any evidence of it. Love my TP's, however so if I could find a Lews I'd probably pick it up. Oops maybe this is the Lews they were referring to... http://www.amazon.com/Lews-Tournament-Speed-Size-Spinning/dp/B004XDTCB8/ref=sr_1_4?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1353579552&sr=1-4&keywords=lews

Hello From Florida
It can be good at times, mostly have to travel south a bit, get down to Mid St. Johns river, around Glen Cove/Palatka and the surrounding lakes, and of course Rodman, Crescent area. Other than that it's pretty good drive to get down to central lakes. The curse of a seaside town, Salt rules. trout, redfish, flounder, etc are the big deals around here, and thus all the local shops, tackle, etc geared towards them. What's a bass fisherman to do lol.

Hello From Florida
Hello all from NE Florida, been reading for a while but joined recently. Fished a lot in my youth, kinda tapered off as college and job and family took over, but now in late 40's and getting back into it. . Fixing up an older Ranger hope to have it on the water early 2013.

World Series Of Bass
I've kept watching these, just not sure where it's going. Low production value, poor editing, it just looks off. The actual fishing segments are OK but the land segments are so bad it's comical. I don't know if Joe is just a guy with a little bit of money and wants to start his own tour or what. If so I applaud that, but he needs to get behind the scenes and find a "face" fast.

Spinnerbait, Reel Gear Ratio
I also prefer a lower ipt, anything above 25-26 is just a throb machine, unless burning low profile willow blades. 21-23 even better, something around 5.2-5.4 in a modern low profile reel.

Right Hand Fisherman: What Success In Reeling With Left?
Right Handed, Left eye dominant. I throw Right, Reel Left. Always have, just seems natural to me. Pitching, especially, which is what I do 80% of the time anyway. I tried to convert, since there are so many more RH options in reels, but just couldn't get used to it. Working the bait with my right hand is much more natural motion to me.

Johnny Morris Carbonlite
Really want to try one of these. I actually bought 4 of the previous model when they went on sale right before these new ones came out, but in a moment of stupidity I changed my mind and returned them. I have regretted that decision because you can't find the old one anywhere now . I had thought the new one would offer more ratio's in LH, but they never offered them. Still, would like to try the new one, just waiting on the next sale which I assume will be Black Friday maybe? Trouble is I have no local shop so will have to hope to get a decent one via mail order.

Team Daiwa Zillion Crazy Cranker Reel
Zillions CC is a great reel, 22" ipt as mentioned above. I have a few Zillions, but for my Deep Cranking reel I went with a lower cost option, the PQ 4.7:1 ratio which is 19" IPT. It's a reel I just will not use as much as my others, so didn't want to spend too much money.

Bps Pro Qualifier Bc Reel – 5-Year Challenge – Three Years In
I bought one, at the time it was one of the only super low ratio'd leftys I could find, pulling in 19". It doesn't get a lot of use, as it sits on a heavy crankin rod for Big Deep Divers like DD22's, DT20's, etc. which I don't throw that often. At that price point, it's a no brainer choice. It can seem top heavy if used on a lightweight rod, but on most rods it's not an issue.

World Series Of Bass
Is anybody watching these? The whole series has kind of a "will it be here tomorrow" vibe going on, imo. May turn out to be the next big thing but also could be the next "whatever happened to..." as well. Anybody know any history on Joe Habib?
