  1. strike king kvd 1.5-2.5 awesome in all conditions tight lines Andrew
  2. SENKO!!! There's your answer lol that a d bomb and a shaky head are my go to spawning baits Tight lines Andrew
  3. I would seriously consider that Croix I suggested then for 110 it really is an awesome stick and if your willing to buy used a whole other class of rods come into view you could definitely find an Avid in that price. Plus you don't want to get one of those loomis rods anyway a legend extreme would go nice lol just kidding lol. pm me if you like I'm in the same sort of situation as you Tight lines Andrew
  4. Another thing to remember on buying a rod is warranty I know from personal experience that St Croix has an excellent warranty program I can testify along with countless other members here. I don't know about *** so someone else will have to fit in here. What is your price range exactly? Tight lines Andrew
  5. Personal best size has nothing to do with the action of a rod I would go with a 7 mh-fast action rod. For brand I would go either St croix and their mojo bass series it's the spinnerbait stick and is the most versatile rod in my arsenal. I rip rattle traps through grass with them and fish all kinds of other baits on them. The other rod would be a *** black p. that rod has been getting mad reviews for sensitivity and power and may be the next new rod I get in the same action. The silver max will work good on the mojo. Tight lines Andrew
  6. Can't participate because I'm croix biased love them. Good luck the LTBs are an awesome stick Tight lines Andrew
  7. Don't be so quick to pass up those 1 dollar spinnerbaits for a buck they work just fine and I liked them. Plus they have some colors that I haven't seen before. Sure the skirts arnt the highest quality and the blades and swivels arnt the best but the hooks are ok and if they break just buy another that's what I used to fish a lot. Tight lines Andrew
  8. X2 I now hate any line for reaction baits but braid. And braid will definitely help drive the hook home Tight lines Andrew
  9. its close but hooking up with a big american shad in the river during the spring is awesome. They're not called the poor mans tarpon for nothing Tight lines Andrew
  10. Felt head shakes when I hooked up with this one and thought it was a bass until i saw it. Strike king KVD 1.5 was the bait of choice and on a medium moderate Avid it was an awesome fight Tight lines Andrew
  11. Throw a super realistic swimbait like a huddleston or hollow belly i would definitely throw the hudd weedless shad there or work a shaky head along the bottom tight lines Andrew
  12. ya you should be just fine with those i just like a big gap for the bait to go tight lines Andrew
  13. 225 sounds big for a 18'9 boat our old bee was 18'6 and only rated for a 150. Anyway our yamaha idles at 900 and then drops to about 600 when in gear try trimming your motor up when at idle. If ours is trimmed down it chunks real bad and will cut off if if left for a while.
  14. After trying to suggest rods for a friend and a little bit of discussion I realized this isn't my strong point. What would be a good two piece bait casting rod in the 7 foot medium heavy range open to any suggestions thanks in advance Tight lines Andrew
  15. My personal favorite after trying many different ones are the new missile baits shockwave for a smaller profile and either the money minnow or the shadalicious. I use a 5/0 ewg worm hook with a tungsten bullet weight for conditions and a 7/0 trokar mag swimbait hook on the 5 inch money minnow. I've found that the swiming flukes don't stay on the hook very well Tight lines Andrew
  16. Jethro baits, strike king missile baits, net bait, culprit zoom baits yum baits and many many more Tight line a Andrew
  17. I have that rod with a Lew's super duty and it makes an outstanding outfit. the super duty is a heavier duty reel designed for applications like this. it has a larger handle beefed up gears a deep spool and other things. yes the drag may be the same but that is generally it tight lines Andrew
  18. you will not be sorry i promise pm'ed you
  19. booyah pad crasher is the best walking forg i have followed by the field mouse tight lines Andrew
  20. DO NOT GET THE TOURNEY Special you will regret it i have a friend in a bass club who has had it replaced 3 times for the same problem go with the pro Qualifier I fish tournaments with them you will love it tight lines Andrew
  21. good deal thanks for the heads up Tight lines Andrew
  22. I use a Palomar knot for all my frog fishing. i have no problem walking the dog with the knot. Have you tried working it with a lot of slack and subtle rod twitches? Tight lines Andrew
  23. There is no fish to be caught there caffeine shad is my favorite bigger profile bait and the Lake Anna Bait Co CC Minnow is by far one of the best flukes I have ever used.
  24. I reach for a gold cotton cordell lipless everytime there is a slight stain and sun. it really throws the right amount of flash in the muddy water its a total confidence bait tight lines Andrew
