I'm late to the Keitech party -- can someone catch me up?
The 3.8 I would use on the a-rig. The 4.8 I like to use a 4/0 owner weighted swimbait hook. Both of these setups are thrown on a BC.

Berkley havoc devil spear
I like them on a good flipping hook! Good lure for the thick grass mats and into timber.

Curado vs. BB1
How is Lew's a model of consistency? Please explain, because my experience is that they change and introduce so many new models that it's hard to keep up with them. The two Lew's reels I bought 2 years ago are no longer even available! The basic $99 Speed Spool, and the $149 Tournament Speed Spool. I know they have "equivalents" available in their lineup, but I don't see how this is any different than what Shimano does!?!? For the record, I am not a Shimano guy either. I ended up going down the road of Daiwa, but if presented with the option of having to pick between a Lew's and Shimano I would take the Shimano 100% of the time.

Suggestions for a frog/pitching rod n reel set up
For several years I got by just fine with a 7' Veritas (first generation) MH/F rod. Since this rod was closer to a H action it worked just fine. The reel I had on it is a Lew's Tournament speed spool with 65# braid. I have since "retired" this combo for a 7'4" St. Croix LTB Slop and Frog rod. This rod is the perfect length and action for me as I can easily use it for double duty work.

Braided line smallies
No, Kanzen is a braid. Tatsu is their high end fluoro.

Braided line smallies
I starting using the Seaguar Smackdown braid this year, and love it. I did spool up my dropshot setup with Seaguar Kanzen to see how that works since it is so cheap - so far, so good.

Star Wars **spolier, don't enter
This family tree is no longer part of the Star Wars Canon. Once Disney bought LucasFilm they essentially hit a reset button on what is officially part of the Star Wars canon. Much of the source material used for the graphic above includes books and other materials from the "expanded universe". As of now this is what is being considered as "official": http://www.slashfilm.com/new-star-wars-canon-timeline/

Star Wars **spolier, don't enter
I seriously hope they don't do that. It will all be too cliched. I think that she may have been trained by Luke at the same time he was training Ben Solo/Kylo Ren, and after he lost his marbles Luke sent her off to Jakku to protect her. With Star Wars being a "space opera" they don't need to bring her in as a direct descendant of the Skywalker clan since Kylo is already filling that role. It will be nice to have an outsider come in to help clean up the family mess.

TFO Tactical swimbait rod
I would take a look at the Lucky Craft rods on sale right now on TW. They are $49, and I believe far surpass the quality of the TFO rod you are looking at for $75. Just my $0.02.

Daiwa Alpha sv 105
It's a fantastic reel, and I would go with the higher gear ratio for what you are looking to do with it. I also recommend buying the JDM Alphas SV from any of the reputable Japanese online vendors. You'll save yourself about $75 over the USDM version.

A Changing Of The Guard
I'm currently self medicating with a Scorpion with the 4x4 svs brakes. So far I've not had any allergic reactions.

TW lucky craft and powell rods
It was designed for the Lucky Craft BDS crankbaits, but it will be fine for squarebills and lipless cranks.

Good to see a Daiwa man got the job!

You said that a black trick worm texas rigged has worked for you. Why not continue using that?

TW lucky craft and powell rods
Yes, they are really nice rods. Cork is excellent. Finish is really good for a $100 rod, but make sure you get a Fuji hook keeper as there isn't one on the rod.

On A Budget?
I believe in layering regardless of the outdoor activity. A waterproof shell, a warm mid layer, and a wool or synthetic base layer (never cotton). As far as brands are concerned I really believe that you will get better quality out of more expensive brands, but you also DO NOT have to pay a lot for them. For example: I purchased a Patagonia ultralight down jacket for only $70 on eBay. This jacket retails for $299 at places like REI, Moosejaw, and Campmor. The more you are willing to search for a deal the more likely you will be at finding one. I also can't stress the importance of good wool socks - preferably Merino wool. Once your feet get cold you are pretty much screwed.

Best Lipless Crankbait
I'm in the Bill Lewis Rat-l-trap camp, but the SPRO Aruku shad is slowly finding it's way into the regular rotation.

Fd's 7Th Annual Fishmas Loot Thread
So, I'll be the first to open up their fishmas package - forever being known as Mr. Impatient. Felix77 did a great job! I am really impressed with his research, and selection! Of course some worms. Excellent choices for some beaver/creature baits. Some finesse tubes, and my dearly beloved GYCB Flappin Hogs! This box full of jigs, terminal tackle, Livingston Lures (super excited about these!) lipless crankbaits, reel grips, hair jigs, and a spinnerbait! Last, but not least. A River2Sea spittin wa frog, rod wraps, and a Livingston Lures hat to cover my bald head when fishing! Thank you again! I hope you enjoy your fishmas package as much as I enjoy mine! Merry Christmas to you and your family, Felix! Oh, and I am rooting for the Dolphins to win tonight so you can open yours!

Well then you better be prepared to open the package this evening! I told my girlfriend to find something to do tonight because I was going to watch some of the Star Wars movies to prepare for seeing The Force Awakens on Thursday, and open the package you sent me.
