  1. Dudley would be interesting. Stop by the introduction page and introduce yourself when you get a chance.
  2. Ah man. I didn't mean anything by that comment. That was an interesting read. I like what Felix said best. Learn to control your backlash and Flouro is awesome. I like flouro for cranking. Other than that it is a braid to flouro leader. Straight braid on my heavy flipping stick, unless I'm around a lot of wood. Then it's 25lb flouro. Braid catches on wood and I lost a huge fish in a tourney last year. It wrapped me around a branch and shook off. Sickening!
  3. On a more serious note, I am new to it also. WRB, and Speedbead have excellent advice on swim baits. I'd search their topics and their thread posts by clicking on their profile. Endless amounts of info. If your lucky, they'll comment!
  4. I don't know if "color" matters. But based on my observance, diameter or type of line does.
  5. I just came across this interesting little article. I'm buying one for sure now! http://insideline.net/index.php/blog-pete/1404-a-classic-prediction-that-no-one-will-fess-up-to-if-it-comes-true
  6. Based on this article you going to lose!!!! LOL http://insideline.net/index.php/blog-pete/1404-a-classic-prediction-that-no-one-will-fess-up-to-if-it-comes-true
  7. Sometimes people don't understand because they are "complacent" I am never complacent. I'm always looking to make more money at what I do. I will always have dreams. Also, for some reason this country has gotten lazy. They don't want to put their big panties on and work for what they want or love. "Brow beaten" per say. Now don't get me wrong. I am not saying anyone on here is like that. I'm saying our country as a whole is leaning that way. When it is pounded in your head, what else are you going to do? Free this! Free that! Hold your hand out and we'll give it to you! Not me. I'll gladly drag my fat carcass out of bed and pound away! Why? Because I like to think my parents raised me rite and taught me well. To do otherwise, IMO would be spitting in their faces.
  8. Personally I don't give a crap what KVD or any other successful angler throws. Or who sponsors them. I pay attention to the type of lure or color. Not the brand. I listen to guys in my club or other local anglers. I also hit up guys at work. The biggest improvement in my fishing has come from the great guys on here. Answering my questions, even tho some of them have been eye rollers! So, what I'm saying is, don't worry about being famous. Show them your willing. If you get the gig, push it at the tournaments you fish. Put your heart and soul in explaining their product. When I played ball in high school, our coached was frustrated with our being lazy and lack of enthusiasm in practice. When we went in the locker room, he wanted us to write the definition of "enthusiasm" on a piece of paper. Put our name on it and turn it into his office. I gave an example of "enthusiasm" I used a guy on the team that was always pumped. He was never tired, always being the cheerleader. My paper was read aloud in the locker room. I was told in front of the team that was a great example. And he said if we were all like said player, we'd be a better team. Now to why I told you that story. Be "ENTHUSIASM" and it will work!
  9. A great episode for sure. How I missed this thread? Oh it's been a while since I've been on! I have recently gotten back on within the last week. I will do my best to contribute to this thread. I am going to be on 2nd shift for 12 weeks starting next Monday. Soooooo I will be getting out a bunch over that time frame....... My goal is to catch my first on some big swimbaits. Maybe even top my PB! I'll be throwing other baits as well. Darin
  10. One??? What a shame.
  11. Whoop there it is! The Dredge brush jig! He also is coming out with the football style Dredge. I absolutely love the Owner hook he uses!
  12. I'm going with Brandon or KVD. I think Hank Cherry is in the top 5 again. Oh and if Brandon gets a quick limit, I bet he slow rolls a Hudd some!
  13. I can't help you with watching them on the water. I do know however when fishing, keeping about 100 yards between boats is good. Now on to the Expo. YES it is worth going! If you get there when they open it, some of the vendors will be handing out free goodies. I would suggest taking a bag to carry the free stuff. It is basically a big tackle show. Take plenty of money to purchase tackle. When I bought tackle or rods, I'd hit them up for hats and stickers. It was a total blast!
  14. Siebert or Northstar has great swim jigs. Northstar has been out of commission for a while tho. He posted on Facebook that he is fixing to be up and running again!
  15. Honestly, I'd put my 14 year old up against both of you!
  16. Let us know what you think!
  17. No man I sure don't. I've only fished it 2 times. I was a co-angler in my club tournaments. I can tell you a 1/4 scrounger with green pumpkin trailer works wonders there! Don't forget to dip the tail in chartreuse!
  18. Gotta love Oklahoma! The only place I know of that it'll be 70 one minute and 35 the next with about 40mph wind gusts.
  19. I seen these jigs at the mid-south tackle show yesterday. I'm impressed. Although I don't need another style of jig in my box to confuse. So when I need some jigs, I'll give them some love and see what I think.
  20. Either would work. A bulkier bait has a slower fall rate. The thicker bait creates more drag in the water. Small bait will sink faster. Slow roll the jig. Then kill it. Count to 5 pop it a few times. Count to 5. Slow roll. Or yo-yo it as you slow roll it. Mix it up. If you get bit, remember the cadence. Develop a pattern.
  21. Awesome. I never would have thought of that one. Spending that kind of money on some of them and if I decided to have a custom, the bonnets make total sense! Thanks.
  22. I seem to have seen a pic of this at one time. Posted by J Francho maybe? It rings a bell.
  23. Hey all! I was wondering how all you BIG swim bait fellas store your baits. Hudds, Slammers, Hardgills, Bull shads, etc..... I am getting into tossing some of these baits and I just wondered if anyone had any tips or suggestions. Thanks. Darin
