  1. So many reels i cant buy cause there RH only
  2. Many others including myself are probably wondering where the best places are to take advantage of cyber monday. There's the obvious big name places doing specials, but wanted to hear from others about where they shop. Lots of choices....
  3. One of my honey holes is extremely shallow.. If i go wizzing around with the troller motor and pass any quality fish i probably should pack up and leave.. Not saying there uncatchable , but VERY hard to get a bite.. Usually means coming back to the same spot two hours later.. Just like the above post the big ones would dive themselves into cover or dart away quickly to a safe zone. Shallow water= Little to no trollermotor use.
  4. Another north-east beast! All the way up in Maine too. Congrats!!
  5. As for hudds they defiantly work.. Even know there two different lures heres some pics of some dinks caught on the large MS Slammer caught on the first couple times chucking it. Really took the fear outta using these big baits. Don't matter where you live.. Only things that matters is finding the BOWs worth fishing big baits. If there's 4-5lbs+ bass in a puddle I'll throw a swimbait.
  6. My honey hole has them, but haven't seen any this year? Weird things they are...They look soft and gross even though there hard as a rock.
  7. Im curious cause i got plenty of places to fish where there's 5-7lbs and a few places that's been know for 8-11lbs... Obviously most people throwing big baits are after trophy's and there's no denying that some places in the NE hold big bass. Question is how big for are northern bass...? Should we think no different than the guys out west or down south for targeting these 8,9,10s??
  8. After catching a good number of quality largies on swimbaits I'll probably be dedicating most of my time chucking them.. So my main question to us north-easters(although a bass is a bass so any info from anybody is greatly appreciated ) how much is too much? Is throwing a 12" bait for 7,8,9lb+ bass an overkill? I got a 12" MS Slammer, it's really just 10.5" still a BIG bait... I dont want to waste my fall throwing a bait that intimidates fish under DDs Would love to hear first hand experiences with the 12" Slammer, but anyone who throws baits bigger than 8in is good help.. Tight lines bassresource
  9. Sank a abu garcia vendetta/black max twice and saved it both times... One time took me around a hour to get back and the other time i caught it on the fall.. almost fell outta the boat.. luckily both in shallow water.... Other than that i had a BPS carbonlite with a JM carbonlite baitcaster. Fell off the back of my canoe in over 20ft of water. Once i heard the sound of the splash my heart sank... I turned around and the rod was floating ontop of the water... THANK YOU FOAM!!!!
  10. Go to the pond like you normally would except close your eyes
  11. Hmmmmmm?? lol just trying to get idea whats going on where. I haven't been out enough to exactly know, still haven't seen much change from summer patterns....
  12. Almost a silly question, but why not ask anyways... Whats the combinations that you've tried? Considering whats legal in your state. Has anyone tried throwing on spinners, chatterbaits, soft plastic worms or craw etc...or just anything that isn't your usually swimbait?
  13. Whos seeing them and whos not?
  14. Foolish a bass is a bass. Sure the challenge of going out some huge lake and finding a big one is good, but you still need to hook up with that bass and land it. So IMO a 1 acre pond too a 500,000acre lake etc is no different... Although hooking up with a beast on BOWs that can pounded is a great feeling.
  15. Honestly i rarely ever weigh my fish let alone measure them so i guess it's just a bad habit. Stupid me always overlooks this until im out on the water. Usually due to me rushing around not paying attention. Not sure when the next time i'll be going out, but I WILL BE PREPARED. Still got plenty of time to get some good fishing . Tight lines everyone!
  16. AHHHHH keep getting screwed! Went on a impulse quick trip yesterday with little to no gear(INCLUDING MY MEASURING TAPE LOL!) Wasn't honestly excepting much with the small window of time i had. Guess i was wrong.... I wonder how many times im gonna keep doing this Good results so far... Congrats to everyone
  17. I had both the carbonlite reels and both of them had problems I cant remember my reel doing the issue yours is, but i also haven't had that reel for over a year. I would defiantly keep up with the maintenance. Mine became very noises after a decent amount of use. A quick clean@lube every month should keep your reel in order. BTW which carbonlite reel? The regular or JM series? I found the original to be better IMO. You should be able to upgrade parts in the reel? Not sure though...
  18. I fish alot of shallow water. Some places that reach a max depth of maybe 6ft. Great info above.. and my two cents...... Finding bait in shallow water is easy especially if it's clear water. Find the bait and they'll be bass hanging around somewhere near by. My fav shallow water baits in no order. Swimabaits Swim Jigs Bladed vibrating jigs(chatterbait) Almost any big topwater plug, weedless if there's lots of emergent cover Shallow jerkbait buzzbaits probably a few more, but those baits have caught me many quality fish outta my shallow waters Good luck
  19. LOL i gotta be the dumbest person on this site... I KEEP FORGETTING TO BRING ANYTHING TO MEASURE! Oh well heres some nice fish from yesterday anyways.... Im going back out today prepared Good luck everyone!
  20. Even know i said i was in last time and didn't enter a single fish. Im in I caught a bunch of quality fish in august, but stupid me never brings out anything to measure em.
  21. Thanks.. It was a exciting moment watching two bass just appear outta nowhere. I was using some stretchy mono so it was a bit difficult to have a full feeling of the fish, honestly didn't even know i had two fish just thought it was one of those moments where a follower was just tailing the hooked bass. Heres the video. As you can tell i was pretty excited lol just was really bizarre to me. Never really thought it would happen with a lure like that. After the video i quickly unhooked them and released. No harm done thankfully, enjoy
  22. If anyone can fill me in on posting videos on the forums I'll upload the video showing the two bass still in the water.
  23. Completely forgot to mention that... That cool thing was it wasn't caught on a bama rig or any other rig with 2 lures + The two bass were hooked on a 6in R2S S-Waver. Bass were crushing it today!
  24. Heard about it from others and seen a few random videos on youtube, but finally I've got to experience catching 2 for the price of 1 I have a video also, but not entirely sure on how to post on the forum? Despite the cold-front in south shore MA the fishing was on FIRE today. Caught enough 3-4lb for the next month lol. No giants unfortunately ... Tight lines BASSRESOURCE
  25. Agree with above i don't believe this goes true to everyone. If you fish were there's 1-2 LMB over 10lb then yes, your chances are probably slim especially if it's a big BOW getting pounded. On the other hand some of us are spoiled with beautiful hog factory's where hearing about a 8,9,10+lb bass isn't a huge deal.
