  1. There great lures for the $$$ Besides the fins i don't have any complaints except for not making a 10 or 12 inch. When it comes to the hooks though I'd recommend swapping the them out for some better quality. I've lost more fish than landed and most of the ones i lose are the bigger fish. I've only been fishing the bbz for maybe 2 months and already caught a good number of 4s and 3s, but lost 4-6 LMB over 4lb and 1 of them being 6+ Everytime i've lost a big one it's been cause of a headshake. I probably just got a fluke... Yours will probably be fine especially if you dont have any toothy critters locking onto your baits. Good luck any defiantly post up something here if your fins are a problem
  2. Dang lol well my fins only fell of cause of some jumbo pickerel in some of my local waters... Toothy critters swallow half the bbz Thanks anyways everyone. Luckily i might of found a solution, hopefully it works.
  3. Thanks anyways Jeff Im just surprised that i haven't gotten anything on such an active forum. I'll give it sometime... i know somebody knows on the forum. Im assuming there just not looking here. It was a big problem at the start of the BBZ being mass-produced. The fins would fall off before even catching a fish. Years later I'd figure the problem was fixed, but i guess not.
  4. Favorite craw lures of all sort in no specific order River2Sea Supper yabbie River2Sea Clackin crawfish Wave Worm Tiki Craw Grande bass mega claws Culprit Incredicraw Berkly Havoc fatty craw Probably a few im missing... those are just a few
  5. REALLY? NO ONE HAS HAD THE SAME PROBLEM??!? ANYBODY??????? LOL My last desperate calling before i try the gorilla glue
  6. With such a cheap swimbait that catches quality fish i would think they'd be more input to this question... any input for that matter?? LIKE I SAID ANY AND ALL HELP IS REALLY APPRECIATED!
  7. I've did a good amount of research and still was wondering if anyone had a remedy for replacing the fins on the BBZ. I got the replacement, but don't want to order the two mixtures bill recommends UNLESS i have too. I'd like to go into my local store and find something. Any and all help is appreciated Tight lines BassResource
  8. Try fishing shallow ponds. The bite can be alot easier and quicker to find. Here's some nice fish from yesterday Random pics nothing in order, caught on spro bbz-6in and R2S S-Waver
  9. MAFF member here, although i can't answer your question i can tell you that if you quickly make a MAFF account (assuming you don't have one) someone will give you an answer somewhat quickly. Otherwise I'd imagine someone on BR can help you out...
  10. I also have had some troublesome moments with knot failures. This spring and summer I've snapped at least 5-8 good bass. All of them on a jig except the major disappointment with the jumbo strike on a swimbait in my hog waters( My luck it was probably the trophy I've been after ) Now i use the knot shown by shaw grigsby for any application over 15lb had haven't had any knot problems since. Still deciding on the best knot for finesse fishing.
  11. Wish i had something to post, but i waiting to hit the HH. I've just been fun fishing local ponds with friends... Haven't caught anything bigger than 20in.
  12. Fish heal from battle bruises, but only to a certain extent. Ex: Caught a 6lb bass a couple weeks ago, she was gorgeous except for the big hole right on the bottom lip just abut where you'd lip a bass. It made lipping the bass a effort and sorta felt bad because it defiantly was never going to heal. It honestly looked like a ignorant angler who tried RIPPING two two trebles right threw the fish This subject bringing up a friendly reminder to all ALWAYS HANDLE FISH WITH THE MOST POSSIBLE CARE FOR A HEALTHY FISH AND FISHERY! If there's one thing that any angler can appreciate and love is catching a pond lunker twice or more! Once you catch the same big bass and notice it's healthy condition you'll feel great that you were careful in the first place. P.S FUN FACT: The bass in my main pic was C@R THREE TIMES! and hooked a fourth. C@R AND FISH CARE MATTERS!!!!!!
  13. Im a believer in the wind. On shallow clear water lakes it can really pay off. Last fall i caught two back 2 back LMB on a super windy point that were both 5+! The rest of the day was just a frenzy of big bass, pickerel, jumbo perch. I think it honestly makes those clear water fish less finicky. As others say some of the best fishing on my local lakes has been on some intense windy fall days.
  14. Im in the same boat...Cant stand the taste of fish unless it's fried and at that point you shouldn't even call it fish lol.
  15. Yes, but it depends on what BOW your fishing. If it's a shallow clear water lake then you cant go wrong! As doug hannon said himself night time is wonderful because it covers up some of the mistakes us anglers unintentionally make. If your allowed to fish at night give it a go. Night fishing can produce some of the best bass fishing of your life.
  16. Sweet congrats on the PB that's a nice NH LMB
  17. The great thing about the bbz 6in jr is it's capable of being thrown even on MH. Even if it's not leaning towards a more H action. Im throwing mine on a cheap 7'6 MH Powell Diesel and works great.
  18. As always thanks everyone. The sensation of throwing a bait like that and not to mention getting a big one to bite in a spot people already pounded was a gamechanger for me! After catching that bass i know swimbaits truly do require patience, patience, patience in order to get quality bites. It's dang worth it though! As for the Spro... For $20 there good in my book! I've seen some intense baits in person and they look, feel, fish awesome, but IMO the BBZ is a wonderful answer to the poor angler in need of a SB that will catch big fish. The only con is the hooks may need to be changed. They get a good amount of bites! This happens just to be the best largie yet. Im definitely gonna keep thowing them!!
  19. Thanks everyone. Was indeed caught on a spro bbz jr. I didn't weight her seeings how she wasn't a true Goliath, but probably all of 5lbs
  20. Well just wanted to post this as more of a thank you to BR and all it's participating members. After studying the valuable information found MOSTLY HERE and putting some time on the water i've finally starting to understand the fine art of swimbaits! It's taken a bit, but i can confidently go out to any given BOW and use a 6in bait or bigger. Here's what time and effort can do! THANK YOU BASS RESOURCE!!!
  21. Yes especially if im on a boat with the whole BOW available to me. As silly as it can be to others it will bother me... Even fun fishing. Only certain days when NOBODY can get bit i will let it go. It's kinda funny too cause as said above some actually hate getting a bite and losing it. Ovb no ones gonna like loosing a fish, but to me as long as it wasn't a 6lb+ bass i don't mind... IMO it means im at least doing something right.
  22. With the thousands and thousands of bass I've caught never have i seen any kind of gross leech/lamprey etc before. I always assumed they live in dirty water with lots of muck an other nasty crap ?? If thats true then it makes perfect sense since all the body's of water around me are very clean.
