  1. I love them on drop shot. I haven't rigged them any other way though. Pretty much any fish will hit them. I've even used the 3" for crappie with a lot of success. The 3" may be a lot smaller than you thought, well that's what happened to me at least... They are very durable and I'm still on my second one, which has been through many fishes.
  2. I just use one of my old backpacks and its been fine for me so far. I have been looking at the shimano blackmoon, but its a bit pricey.
  3. 4 1/2 in straight tail roboworm and 3 in *** bento minnow.
  4. I also fish from the bank the majority of the time and have run into many similar situations. I don't mind sharing the spot, however there have been times when people will see me catch a fish and come on over and stay over the exact spot I cast at. Most of the places I fish are big reservoirs and there are plenty of other places I know contain lots of fish that is easily accessed by boat. There's also some that will cruise parallel to the bank and ruin all the fishing for us bank fishers. I'm not saying this to all boaters, most of them understand and try to avoid ruining someone else's fishing... it just those few that don't...
  5. I've been using the owner twist lock hooks and the senkos seem to stay on a bit longer... Those are probably the best that I've tried so far.

Not sure if its what you're talking about, but there are some night crawlers that are fed some kind of food(don't remember what it is exactly) which turns them green. And I think they glow also.... I've never used them, but imo theres no need for them. If i'm using bait then a regular night crawler will catch fish as good, if not better, than those.
  7. I usually hook them through the back. A little bit under their dorsal fin. I find that even when they're dead the fish don't seem to mind much...
  8. Thanks for all the input guys. I am considering going with two combos, but then that would mean I'd either have to carry more rods, or leave some behind when I'm fishing from the shore which is about 90% of the time. I've never used any of the higher end daiwa reels, but how do they compare to shimanos? I'm definitely going to look into the steez though.

I've been using it a lot and its been doing pretty well for me. Been throwing rage craws and d bombs, although I get more bites on the rage craw. I'm not sure what i changed, but my hook up wasn't that great when i first started using it, but now I feel that my hook up ratio is pretty good.
  10. Haha and luckily for me its free overnight shipping
  11. Okay I will have to get some and try it out on my current set ups. Thanks.
  12. Okay thanks. I've been using invizx, and really like it, but is there any other floro you'd recommend?
  13. Well I fish from the bank most of the time so I try to make my equipment versatile. Right now I have two casting set ups, A curado 51e paired with a recon2 715, and a chronarch 201e6 paired with a compre 6'10 med hvy. I also have one spinning combo, a symetre 2500 paired on a med 7' compre. I feel like I can use these rods and do well on most presentations. I want this combo to be used for what I fish most, which is senkos and 1/4oz jigs, that's why I'm willing to spend the money for a high end combo, plus i Just thought It'd be nice to have something like that in my little collection.
  14. I've heard a lot of positive reviews on the tournament pro. I may have to look into that a little more. As for the rod, I've heard plenty of positive review on it too. Just kind of curious how it will actually feel in my hands compared to my current rods. But thanks.
  15. This might be a long and bit confusing post so bear with it please... So I decided its about time I got a high end combo(which i keep telling myself will be my last rod/reel purchase, but I really doubt it). Well being a college student and part time worker, its hard enough as it is to find time for fishing. However, since summer break has begun I've been trying to get more hours at work to buy myself a really nice combo. I've looked through some stuff and would like some of your guys opinions. Performance is what matters most, but I also like my combos to match since I think they look a lot nicer. I'm looking for something that will be good for soft plastics, but okay for smaller jigs also. For reels I'm thinking a core51 or aldebaran(they're the same reel right?), or Metanium XG. For rods I'm looking at the newer cumara 7'2" med hvy, Phenix ultra mbx 7' med hvy, or nrx blue 893(I know the price gap is pretty big but I don't mind getting a rep sample which I've seen go for around 400). Reel wise I've also been checking out some daiwa jdm reels and wouldn't mind one of those either. Any other recommendations not listed are welcome. Willing to spend 400 on rod and reel each.
  16. I use the 8 and 12 and haven't had any problems. I think it is a little more stuff than other lines but for the price I thinks it's a really good line.
  17. Thanks guys. I didn't get it since i did think the price was a little too high, but I am keeping a look out on ebay and other places in case one pops up for a good price. Will probably be my first daiwa reel.
  18. Alright. Thanks guys I guess I'll pass on that then.
  19. I found a local craigslist listing on a daiwa fuego baitcasting reel. The reel looks pretty new still, and the guy wants $175. My question is, is it worth it? I've been looking for a new reel too, but i don't know anything about this reel so i thought I'd ask here first.
  20. Like the posts above it really depends but I use 20 or 30 on mine.
  21. Cabela's has their xml rods and they have a 2 piece hvy action rod. That's the only one I know of.
  22. Yeah I'll give it a try some time this week... And I don't think the blade gets in the way of a hook set. From what I saw when the bait hits the bottom, the rig stands up while the blade lays down on the bottom. But I guess I'll have to see how it goes when I'm actually fishing it.
  23. Just wondering if anyone has tried adding on a willlow blade onto their jika rig? Do the fish like it and does it work for you? I tried it earlier today in a tank and I think it looks pretty nice. The blade spins on its way down which I think can mimic dying baitfish. Not sure if it makes any sense but I'll add this picture to clarify what I'm talking about.
  24. IMO it depends if he mainly fishes from the bank or a boat. But from my experience I'd go with a 2 piece first. That way it will be more convenient even if he fishes from the bank. I have 2 2 piece rods for when I fish from the bank(which is most of the time) and i never have any problems with the second piece flying off.
  25. Thanks for the info. Never gone there, first time hearing about it actually. Do you think all the spots would be filled up by noon? I want to make a trip there this Saturday but have work until 11. By the way is it just catch and release? Or are there limits?
