  1. The only people Imus needed to apologize to for his idiot comment were the girls on that basketball team!
  2. I didn't know if we were allowed to use BassResource.com url on the shirt... if we can that's great. What is the font, and should it be placed where located below? Also, should it be "www.BassResource.com" or "BassResource.com?"
  3. Ditto here. I received a baitcaster, hat and lures from the guy... he's mookamazing.
  4. Nice smallies... was it a brown Bitsy Jig before or after you ran it through that "practice tank" of yours?

Shoulder problems reek when it comes to fishing, I know. Here's something to think about till August. After years of abuse as a youngin, my right shoulder is gone. It partially dislocates whenever I do something that involves a follow through like fishing. I won't have surgery, and I can't cast worth crap with my left arm. Last year I fished for a month with wide ace bandages binding my upper arm to my body. All casting was done with the forearm and wrist. You lose some distance but it's worth it not to have the pain. After a month you don't need the bandages anymore, and it gets to feel normal casting with your upper arm tight against the body, although it looks a little mooky.
  6. No need for alcohol in the boat, you guys must have hit the bottle plenty ahead of time to go out in that stuff especially without wearing a lifejacket. You're all nutz in New England! I cancelled our trip Saturday because my hands got numb just getting the boat ready (I know wimp).
  7. I'm mook definately in, size Large for me.

Another idea for a Mook Fishing Team T-Shirt came to mind as I chuckled when looking at Muddy's very own bouncing smilies in another post.

Should the Mook's have a creed, and what should it be? (some ideas) ---------------------------------- If you can't laugh at yourself, life will be boring. If everyone laughs at you, but says they're laughing with you, you may be a Mook. Glory is fleeting, but Mooks are forever. Live.....Laugh.....FISH! Never interrupt a Mook in action
  12. Remember when the goby was discovered in the great lakes it was going to destroy the bass fishery or when zebra mussels were predicted to do the same? Yes, native fish like mottled sculpin, logperch and darters will be negatively impacted by the goby, but bass seem to thrive on them. And the zebra mussels have impacted the ecosystem, just look at the clarity of those massive polluted lakes... but they still remain a great concern. Neither has lived up to the dire forecasts that were made early on. It just might be my misguided opinion, but there seems to be a natural balancing act in motion. I do admit global warming currently exists, just as global cooling existed in the 1970's when popular scientists were crying that another ice age was going to hit, and pollution seemed to be at an all time high. But the earth seems to go through cycles, even within a person's lifetime. I really doubt the doom and gloom the Gore glorifiers predict, although I do believe it would be a good thing to do what we can to minimize our harmful effects on the earth, without destroying our economy. And America can't do it all! So what does that mean for bass fishing? At least for us up north, bass will get bigger in the warming cycle and smaller in the cooling cycle. From recent reports it appears that the warming cycle is nearing an end and a cooling cycle is again about to begin. I just wish I could catch some bigger bass before all the talk about global cooling begins again. I need to get a new Personal Best while there's still a hole shot. And I understand Mars is also experiencing global warming If that's not a natural occurrence then I don't know what is.
  13. Can't wait till Gary Yamamoto Custom Baits comes out with a salt impregnated version of the Cane Toad and RW starts bashing all the cane toad knock-offs
  14. I might be wrong, but I think the International Gamefish Association Species Identification Guide indicates that all smallmouth have either red or orangish eyes. But taking some license with George Orwell's Animal Farm All smallmouth have red eyes, but some are more red than others.

I'm in... but does one get Mookified, Mookivated, Mookitized, or what?
  18. Since it appears the footage of the Mooks didn't make it here's a photoshopped artist rendition of the event.
  19. Thanks for the story muddy, I really needed a good laugh today. So are the Mooks taking up flying next?
  20. An interesting test. http://www.military.com/LeaderShipTest/1,16183,main.htm,,00.html As it came out mine was William Tecumseh Sherman probably the least likely of military leaders that I think I would compare myself to. Hmmmm, I never pictured myself so ruthless.
  21. Glad he's okay, I was afraid he got castrated (you know ex-member ahhh... oh just forget itI digress)
  22. My most productive lure on NJ lakes in early cold water is a suspending jerkbait. Around docks, edges of weed lines, rocks, breaklines, open water it seems to work everywhere. Crank it down and then work it slow (I believe the key to its success is long pauses between jerks). Vary the number of jerks between pauses, and be sure to let it pause from 3 to 10 seconds between jerks (the bass will let you know how long to let it pause). They will usually hit on the pause, or right after you begin to work it after the pause. Oh yeah, don't even think of using the Clown color
  23. Don't let the don't fish for bedding bass guys get you down. Lets face it, if you go fishing for bass in the months of February through May, then YOU ARE FISHING FOR SPAWNERS. The spawning activity consumes their entire life during that period. If a fish is eating during those months, it is doing so to support itself for the spawning cycle. Pre spawn is for gaining the energy it will take to go through the ordeal, spawn is the actual bedding phase, and post spawn is where the bass tries to regain it's energy after the dropping of four pounds worth of eggs or fighting off enemy Blue Gill, round the clock for several weeks. Therefore it is all part of spawning process! So for those who say you should not fish for spawning bass, I say you shouldn't be fishing for bass February through May PERIOD. (I just read some of this info at Keith Nighswonger's site, and though to myself... it is so true, whether you want to believe it or not) Tube Baits, 3" Senkos, and 4" hand poured worms are my best bedding fish lures. Key is to keep working the lure in the bed for as long as you can.
  24. Does this fit the bill? http://www.mercurydockstore.com/cgi-mercd/shopper.exe?preadd=action&key=470570&reference=/cgi-mercd/shopper.exe%3Fsearch%3Daction%26keywords%3Dgearshirt%26searchstart%3D0%26template%3DTemplates\search.html
  25. Thanks for the update Alpster. I'll try and stop that screaming mob, loaded with pitch forks and torches, from going to LBH's house, and divert them over to yours. Have sandwiches ready.
