MegaStrike. Used it for the 1st time this week and I am convinced it got me some tough bites.
  2. How do you guys handle deeply hooked bass? Do you change hooks, leave the hook in, anything else?
  3. No but if worked right it will work. One of my favorite shaky baits.
  4. You will love the SilverMax. I own 3!
  5. I would fish the banks which get sun the earliest.
  6. I thrive on the challenge to catch fish in cold water. I don't think of getting skunked but go to the lake looking to practice finesse techniques. IMO the best stuff when it's cold is finesse. Drop shot, split shot and slow dragged jigs and shakey heads. I fished the past 3 days and caught only 1 fish each day. They were ghostly white and put up no fight. Good luck.
  7. I will try that. Thanks.
  8. I got a chance to see them in action this weekend and I must say that I am extremely disappointed in them. The tail had no action at slow retrieves. I found I needed to retrieve it pretty fast to get action out of the lure. I bought them under the pretenses that it would be an effective slow roll swimbait. I'm sure when the faster bite is on it will work well but for slow presentations this is NOT your bait.
  9. Soft plastics. I am a sucker for unique soft plastics.
  10. I just tried it this weekend for the first time. Used a 2/0 EWG and texas rigged a finesse worm over a 1/4 oz weight. Caught me a 3+ pounder!
  11. X2 on the Zoom Magnum Shakey.
  12. A grenade... Seriously. Right now it's the shakey head
  13. I just fished the past few days using MegaStrike for the 1st time. Lets just say its staying in my tacklebox from now on.
  14. Keeper = senko Kicker = Magnum Shakey Head
  15. You are correct. I got it confused with the neko rig. I also got stuff for the Jika. EWG hooks, split rings and bell sinkers to make my own. Lol

I have too many hooks. Was trying to list them but gave up. Lol
  17. Discovered it over the winter. Bought some weights and wacky hooks. Can't wait to try it myself!
  18. Abu Garcia @ walmart rocks. I use it for tournaments i liked it so much.
  19. I have been in Dallas fishing the banks the past 2 days. The temp has been in the mid 50's, rainy and windy (20 mph winds). I was able to muster only one fish per day. Needless to say that sometimes the bite is tough. My 2 fish were both on finesse lures. The first on a 1/8oz VMC rugby jig and a finesse worm. The second was on a drop shot/finesse worm. In both cases it was a cast and soak method. They wanted it ultra ultra slow. When all else fails go slow or go home. I know... easier said than done. Good luck
  20. X2. That yo-yo technique is my primary way to fish them. Cast, let it sink to the bottom (or desired depth). And then begin yo-yoing.

There are also dummy weights which you can tie on as well. Weight and no hook.
  22. Thank you ... I will report back on my results. Flying out tonight. Fishing tomorrow. :-)
  23. IMO both is the best. I use 10lb Power Pro braid with a Seaguar Invizx Leader 8lb. Great combination and it has caught me some good size fish. The key is trusting in your knot (Albright, Alberto or Double Uni). I'm partial to the Double Uni. Have used it with great success.
  24. Here's the video. Thank You UpstateNYBass for posting it online. http://youtu.be/KZ44_iSW-Co
  25. I will be in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. I am so excited to be in warmer climates. Hope I catch a lunker to post online!
