Just racked up on my MegaStrike stuff at the Suffern NY show. That included another Cavitron.

Funny because if you YouTube this you will see that both have their idiot delivery guys. I would suspect both are generally responsible with their packages and have their bad seeds. Upstate NY is the same way. I will start venturing out to explore the lake in early March to see if the ice is going. Once I see the ice is gone I will be out there trying something anything. I set my expectations though. I treat it as practice ... getting my casting arm, my skipping arm, my flipping and pitching arm etc. in tune for the season. That way if I get skunked then it's no big deal. Oh ... and as everyone else has said already the name of the game is slow ... slow jigs, slow worms, slow everything.

My 2013 goals are Finesse - The Drop Shot. All stocked up on hooks and lures. I will use this each and every tournament. Power - Chatterbait. I rely heavily on the Spinnerbait. I want to expand my horizon and get some more experience using this toy.

I was 37 when I fished my first tournament. It was a pike partner tournament and we won. I ended up with 2nd lunker as well. I was hooked ever since.

The Alligator Gar episode just aired. It has to be one of the funniest I have ever seen. I get a kick out of the Strike King Sexy Dead Carp Head. Kills me! My #2 funny moment was Randy Moss and his "I'm gonna sign this fish" comment.

I'm a huge fan of the Max line. Own the Pro and 3 Silvers. I use mine for flipping, pitching, frogs, bigger jigs etc. I have it paired up with a 7' mh rod and 20lb fluoro. Be careful with eBay. You will find the old model pro. You need to make sure it's the Pro Max 2.

I can't speak for the rod but I sent a reel in which wasn't working and back came a new reel in the newer model. Their customer service rocks!

I used Smelly Jelly exclusively with no major success. I know I didn't catch fish because of it. Looking towards JJ's and MegaStrike in 2013 as soon as the ice is gone. All this great BassResource feedback can't be wrong.

What about his notion on sticking with a particular spot for a 1/2 day or more. Seems so contradicting to the run and gun approach to tournament angling. If you don't know a lake then this would be really challenging and time consuming.

Have to keep an eye out for them. Normally the prizes are scarf'd up before you even have a chance to see them posted. There are some lure hungry people on this forum. I just posted an answer for a Rat-L-Trap giveaway.

I haven't seen anything on this forum per-se but I have read of those concerns in the past on other sites. This is a great article and I am happy to see BASS putting this much effort into conservation.

Imagine ... you are a co-angler and want to be as versatile as possible on the water. Of course you talked to your boater but you still want to be ready for as many situations as possible ... You buy one of these to fill with soft plastics to compliment your tacklebag. It has 10 9x9 sheets in it. What do you fill it with?

Neko rig a trick worm. I was searching for a picture and came across this video which is WAY better. This kid stole my idea though ... down to my favorite color Zoom Trick worm. So much for secrets ... LMAO! 2 variations I do to manage it over the muck 1 - I rig the hook towards the middle. No higher than the middle. You will lose action the higher up you go. 2 - When you rig it through you can expose it like he demonstrated. The other way is to hook it through deeper and on the way back you rig it so the tip of the hook is barely exposed. More weedless that way. By the way ... if you don't have a Neko sinker you can always use a finishing nail or a small screw. Sometimes that works better. Good luck.

I just finished the book and I must say it opened my eyes to a different world of fishing. It's a different ball game going for the beasts of the lake. I don't know if I have the patience to learn stitching. That will be a challenge!

Big fat flippin tubes. Can't get a good hook set and would rather flip/pitch anything else. Namely a beaver-ish type bait.

Update: I have added 3 in-line spinners (gold, silver, firetiger), some 3/0 EWG hooks and a pack of Super Fluke Jr's I am SO ready to hit the bank!
