  1. I was going to make the same suggestion as iabass8. Here's the vid with his description on that tweak.
  2. You made my day! I have never seen those bloopers before. I am literally losing my breath laughing over here. The one with the battery makes me cry everytime I see it now. WOW.
  3. Don't underestimate the power of the drop shot <<Yoda voice>> I have experimented with various ways (on shore and boat) and found it to be an exceptional tool. Some out of the box ideas to consider ... 1) Power Shotting - Heavier line (10lb+ FC, 4/0 EWG Hook, 1/2 oz weight) Use it like a carolina rig. All the things about not moving the bait too much still applies. I T-Rig a senko on this and can cover a decent amount of water with it. I also can chuck it into grass and it is surprisingly weedless. 2) Experiment with the way you put the bait on the hook. Nose hooking and wacky are commonplace. Don't forget to try threading it on, t-rig, etc. Each has it's pros/cons 3) Try all Fluoro vs. Briad with a Fluoro leader. One will work for you in terms of sensitivity. Stick with the one which gives you better feel for the weight and for those sometimes subtle strikes. 4) Swimming a bait ... nose hook something like a Zoom Swimming super fluke Jr. and using the power shotting technique do a large drag and pause technique. Gives the swimming fluke a swim and pause presentation which rocks. Hope this helps
  4. I love the VMC hooks. Just recently walked into a WalMart and they had tme on sale for a $1 per pack. I snagged them all. LOL
  5. Welcome ... you will find this place to be the best for information and for sharing "some" secrets. LOL
  6. Congrats! I have a while to wait until my 1st of 2013. My lakes are frozen and not frozen enough to ice fish so I am in that bass fishermens hell!
  7. That's the basic rule I follow for everything ... jerkbaits, lipless crankbaits, spoons etc.
  8. It simply was not made for that OS. Windows 7 does have the ability to run XP software but you have to have some fun with your PC to do this. See below. Good luck. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/products/features/windows-xp-mode
  9. Does anyone know of an effective way to mount a transducer to a canoe? I have a small radisson canoe and was considering a permanent transducer to go with my fish finder. It's made of marine aluminum and I would not want to drill a hole in it. Below is a factory pic of my boat. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
  10. You may want to consider upgrading your fluorocarbon line too. I believe Seaguar Invisz X is the limpest line on the market. Add KVD line conditioner as you are spooling it on and you will have the most manageable line there is. My drop shot rod is always rigged with 100% of this stuff. My birds nests have all but disappeared. Another thing to consider is braid with a FC leader. 10# PowerPro with 8# FC leader. Any FC will work in this case. Hope at least one of those helps. Either way welcome to the world of FC. Once you master it you will never go back ... Felix
  11. The primary key is having the equipment to get out there far enough past the 50 yards to make the lures effective. After that all the advice above is sound. Lipless CB's, Crankbaits, Spinnerbaits etc. If they don't strike that then a weightless senko in the middle of the frey should get you a strike or two.
  12. Just PM'd you.
  13. I rarely use cash anymore. It's a rare thing for me to have cash on me anymore. Only when I take long trips or try to hide my Bass Pro purchases from the wife. LOL
  14. This is the exact same issue with left handed golf clubs. The right handed models come out first and after it's proven successful and enough demand/requests for the LH version comes through is when the manufacturer makes it available. When it came to reels I expected the same thing. Unfortunately it can set you back a whole season in some cases. I just took it as the norm being a lefty.
  15. I had the exact same experience. I had knots break, leaders slip etc. I went back to PowerPro and all of those problems disappeared. I really tried to like it. I love the casting distance on it.
  16. So you heat the scent and the plastic together?
  17. Which Silver Max did you get? The Silver Max original or the Silver Max 2? I had an original Silver Max and within a year the reel began acting up. I shipped it down to Abu and what they shipped back was a Silver Max 2. I was extremely happy. I love the Max2 series of reels. I have 3 Silver Max2's and 1Pro Max2. I'm a huge fan! Abu for Life! :-)
  18. If you can estimate the girth and length you can get a decent gauge by using http://www.bassresource.com/bassfishing/fishcalculator.html One I also use is a very basic formula just to give me a sense of the size. Length x Length x Length / 1600
  19. Listen to CPBassFishing. You need to stir and stir some more with baits which have salt. You can also add more salt.

  21. I just bought a bunch of stuff from lurecraft to get me started. I intend to melt some of my old plastics and use them in the molds. I am making senko type worms. I just need to know how much salt to add. Anyone have a clue?
  22. LMAO. This made my night. Very funny.
  23. I'll bite ... As a bank fisherman myself I try to go as light as possible. With that being said I also try mainly for bass or any other predator fish like pickeril, pike in the waters that I fish from shore. I go with no more than 2 rods. One baitcaster for power stuff (spinnerbaits, chatterbaits etc.) and a spinning outfit for weightless senkos, flukes, etc. Here's my take on your list. 1. 5'6" Light Spinning Combo - Panfish delight. 8lb mono or FC (can go lighter if you prefer) 2. 7' MH baitcasting Combo - Pitching jigs, T-Rig worms, Carolina rig etc 20lb FC 3. 6'6" ML Spinning Combo - 8lb FC. Drop shot. 4. 6' M baitcasting Combo - 10-12lb FC. Power Fishing spinnerbaits etc. 5. 6' M Spincasting Ugly Stik Combo - 10lb Braid, (8lb FC leader). All purpose rod. This is one of my setups from the bank. The Braid sends baits a mile if you get a good brand or superline. When I bring one rod to pound the bank this is it. Hope this helps.

Saw the highlights on SportsCenter this morning. He is a total A-Hole! You hit the nail right on the head with your assessment of the interview.
