  1. 5.89lb Smallmouth 10lb Braid/ 8lb Fluoro leader Shakey Head - Magnum Shakey Head worm.
  2. Well played Scorcher214! His short list is perfect! I also thank you for your service.
  3. I will be in Dallas every other week for the next 6 weeks starting on the 29th of this month. I will be relatively close to the western end of Grapevine Lake. Google earth shows a ton of smaller ponds in that area but it's unclear if they are truly fishable. I was hoping to find some spots where I can fish from the bank after work. With the limited time I have I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction? Thanks
  4. I am a big fan of PowerPro. Not their super slick but their regular.
  5. Just caught the last 6 episondes on demand. It's definitely entertaining and forces them to think out of the box. My interest diminished when the ladies were all gone though.
  6. LOL ... I understand. I had my years with the Giants where it was just a joke to watch! I can't complain though. Even with the ups and downs the team always seems to squeeze out a championship every 5 years or so. I have friends who have never seen their team in the SuperBowl let alone win one.
  7. Depends on the size craw. I use a 4/0 EWG for Rage Craws and 3/0 for Baby Rage Craws. As for weight I usually start at 3/16 - 1/4 oz.
  8. LOL ... Panthers kill ME because on paper they should be more competitive. Let's see what the next season has to bring. I just hope Cam stops crying! As for the murderer comment ... I essentially ignored it and moved away from the spot. I didn't want to get into a confrontation or debate about fishing with someone hanging out on her deck. I just wanted to fish.
  9. Only if they are Carolina Panther fans.
  10. I read that ... just making sure.
  11. Just posted my comment 2 seconds ago. I do. Zoom finesse and trick worms wacky style are deadly.
  12. Is it just for Largemouth bass?
  13. I went through about 4 different setups before committing to this one. My setup is a bit different in that I use the braid but avoid the swivel altogether.. I start with 10lb braid. I add a 8lb test leader using a double uni knot. From there I add the VMC swivelshot. about 9 inches below that is the 3/16oz weight up to about 15-18 feet. After that I go up to 1/4 oz. My new favorite bait is the Yamamoto shad shape worm. I also love wacky style finesse worms. As someone else mentioned don't over work the bait. These finesse worms don't need much working on a drop shot.
  14. No but I had a woman call me a murderer. I happened to catch and release a smallmouth not to far from her.
  15. What is your rod measured for? I have a MH which is measured for at least 3/8th. When I throw anything less than that in total weight it won't cast well for me. Probably because there is not enough "whip" in the rod to project it out. I'm with some of the others. A baby brush hog and 1/8 oz weight should be good. If it's not working for you upgrade it to a 3/16 and see if it makes a difference.
  16. Thanks for the vid's. Bait monkey already making a list.
  17. Here's why it's addicting to me. 1 - It's peaceful. I love my 4 girls and my wife but when I am away fishing I can throw all my commitments out the window and just relax! 2 - it's challenging. There are just too many variables to consider on any given day fishing. Deciphering the code of the day stimulates by brain. I hear brain exercises are good. 3 - it's rewarding. Once you decipher the code and catch fish on a complimentary lure there is a "high"; a sense of accomplishment which is unmatched. 4 - it's fun. Even if 1,2,3 are NOT there and I am mindlessly fishing a hook/bobber with my family/friends we can have a blast catching fish. As for the spending too much money on it ... I guess to do #2 and #3 consistently you need to try new stuff. I like trying new stuff.
  18. I started with a spinning rod so moving to a baitcaster was odd to me. It got easier with time but I notice that when things get tough I revert to my spinning gear 1st (Worms, Finesse tubes etc.)
  19. I catch and release 95+% of the time. The only time I have kept my bass is if it happens to die in the livewell during a tournament. If that happens I suck it up, bring it home and make a yummy bass meal for myself. I keep things simple ... A little cajun seasoning, some butter, olive oil and garlic. Fry it, plate it and eat it. Yum!
  20. I love the new Max reels. The older ones were terrible. I now one 3
  21. This is one video which is making my Bait-Monkey dance the Salsa!!! I am a huge fan of strike king stuff. Time and time again I catch things on Strike King stuff.
  22. I have 3 spinnerbaits models which I use 1 - Megastrike Strikeback 1/2oz Chartreuse/White. My all purpose spinnerbait. Usually the one I start the day with on "good spinnerbait" mornings. 2 - War Eagle finesse spinnerbaits. a clear/white skirt and a translucent chartreuse/white skirt I custom made. 3 - Strike King painted blade series. Ch/White, White and all all chartreuse
  23. Another vote for crocks.
  24. 33 feet with a magnum Shakey head worm and Gama alien head.
