george perrys Myth?
I find the story AMAZING. Even if Perry fudged the numbers or didn't have eye witnesses' to account for the catch. Even if there are no pics, or the story changed. The fact that he chose to use 22lb 4oz as a benchmark for anglers to chase for 80+ years is remarkable to me. We have people who have made it their life goal to surpass this feat. People who named a fish, knew where she was at all times, waited till the right time to try to catch her, yet still couldn't beat the mark. People trying to grow bass in a perfect environment by controlling their diet as much as possible to try to defeat the record, yet still didn't pull it off. While this may indeed be a "fish tale", it is one that bass anglers all around the world have been aware of, and amazed by for many years. I hope Mr. Perry's catch was legit and I hope it is indeed broke one day by someone out fishing for the heck of it, because they love to bass fish.

App developer
Thank you RoLo, that's what I was afraid of. That's why I was wondering if there was a way to have someone do it for you so that the process would be faster and it may be the first of its kind available. It would need GPS capabilities and probably some extensive leg work to find images if they are not available on Google Street View. I think I could get users to submit images for approval to make it easier and much more useful as the app grows.

App developer
Slowly learning, but with 20 days of school left I will have plenty of time on my hands to learn even more. This would be a mobile app, not really intended for a PC. I do not have a Mac, so IOS may be out of the question.

App developer
Has anyone ever developed an app or know of how or who to get in contact with about doing so? I have come up with something that I cannot find any sort of similar app and I would like to move forward with my ideas but I want to make sure I don't just give away my idea to someone who will run with it and leave me in the cold. I didn't know if it was like a legal deal or what......Any help would be appreciated.

Who Uses Braid for Their Top Waters and What Test?
I only use braid for topwater in heavy cover. Open water it's mono for me. I have found that I can't wait long enough to set the hook and set it before they have it fully engulfed and miss way more fish than with mono. JMO though

Rod/reel/line for treble lures?
I too am going down to 3 this year. For the baits you are considering I am going with a 6'8" MH fast Crucial with a Caenan reel.

Underutilized bass lures
Another great answer. I remember catching a ton of bass on a zebco 33 and a Mepps

Underutilized bass lures
Great answer!!!!!! In the day of $20 baits it is tough to use a tried and true bass catching machine. But 25 years ago when I was 12 it was working well.

What's for dinner??
We had St Louis style ribs. Tried a new method. Smoked at 225 for 2 hours, oven at 225 for 2 hours, let rest for 30 min, then Broiled in the oven on high for 30 min, sliced the ribs, turned oven on hold and made the mashed potatoes and mac and cheese. Actually pretty good. Bark was great. May try it for 1 hour next time, got up to 165, a lil too done for my ribs,

Teacher of the Year
Thank you Glenn! I have said some stupid things here (been put in detention, lol) and I have learned that life is far too short to get worked up over an internet forum. I appreciate all the mods do here to make the place a great forum to talk about fishing and I also appreciate all the members. This was a very humbling experience for me as I never imagined I would be recognized like this and I just wanted to share. I don't do he whole facebook, twitter, instagram stuff so this is my outlet. Thank you!!!

Teacher of the Year
I have been away for a while, a long while actually. I haven't fished in over a year so I was out of the mood I suppose. That being said, I focused my energy on being a father, step-father, fiance, and most importantly a better teacher. I realized that there is a chance that I may be the only positive influence in my students lives. Therefore, it was my goal to not only teach about the physical features, economy, government, culture, etc, but it was my goal to build a relationship with everyone of my students and everyone of my colleagues. I was amazed at what you can learn from a kid if you will open your ears and listen. Once you get to know the kids you can read their eyes and know when they need a high five, or a fist bump. It is sad, but most of the kids I teach don't have anyone that cares anything about them. In fact, 85% of our students are on free or reduced lunches. I spent many hours learning about things that I had no interest in just so I could carry on a conversation with a student. I was also amazed at how much you can help your co-workers by sharing your ideas and thoughts with them. Sometimes we don't want to act like a "know it all" and tell each other our thoughts, but I found out it will be beneficial for the most part. I tell you this, to tell you this. I found out today that I was selected as our district teacher of the year by my colleagues. I suppose it isn't a huge deal as I teach in a district with only about 55 teachers, but to be noticed is always nice. I am not posting this to brag on myself, yet to prove that if you truly want to make a difference, you can. This is the only forum that I feel like the members are positive and supportive of other members and I just wanted to share this with you. I will leave you with something I tell my Son and step daughters every morning. Whatever you do, try your very best and know that you did all you can do.

Rare animal sigthings
When I was in HS I was going fishing in a big watershed that is pretty remote. My buddy was driving and we spotting something walking along the timber line. It was a mountain line with 2 cubs. When we told people about it, no one believed us. In fact, the ODWC has said there are NO mountain lions in Oklahoma for as long as I can remember. About 3 years ago one was hit in central Oklahoma and the ODWC changed it to "they aren't native to OK" LOL. I have spent MANY hours in the woods hunting and fishing and have never seen another one. Side note: I live about 300 miles from the closest place to hunt pheasant in OK, TX, or KS. However, I had one running along my driveway 2 weeks ago.

Favourite Texas rigged soft plastic
But it is NOT a true Texas rig without the weight. A soft plastic with a weight and hooked in a weedless fashion is a "Texas rig"

I'm looking for something similar to this. https://www.gungoddess.com/steering-wheel-column-holster-mount/ In all honesty, I am worried about a road rage incident where my gun may fall off my center console Edit***** Just making sure you notice that you can get that in an elegant pinstripe gift bag with sparkly tissue LOL

Urban Carry
Oh, I see. When I'm in my truck it sits on top of the console next to me lol

When do you think you are still going to be seated that you feel your life is in danger to actually draw your weapon on someone???? Is this the old West poker game cheating scenario????? I would think one would at least be engaged in a confrontation before deciding to shoot.

Urban Carry
As an American loving, red blooded, beer drinking, meat-eating, overweight man; I prefer to use an Uncle Mikes ankle holster anytime I wear jeans/pants. I will carry in my cargo pocket in my shorts during the Summer. I have never been in a SHTF situation (and hope not to) but I assume having a gun on you (no matter where) is better than no gun at all.

Hmm.
To each his own. I'm sure people think I'm an idiot for sitting in a tree stand in below freezing temps for hours on end to see nothing but squirrels. Just another example of "if I don't do it, it must be stupid"
