Small lipless...
I have probably caught more fish on a Rayburn Red lipless than all other colors combined. Go figure LOL

Does color really matter?
I too, don't think color matters much at all. However, I seem to think I have to have one of every color made. The good ol, bait made to catch the fisherman gets me everytime.

Triton Deep Cycle Battery Connections
I can't tell for sure what all is going on there, but here is a simple way to wire it. The + TM plug wire to the circuit breaker and then on to the + post on battery A, then a jumper wire from battery A - to battery B +, then a jumper wire from battery B - to battery C +, then battery C - to TM plug -

The 5713's are black and that is what I put on all of mine. I even replaced all of my Bantams with them. The 5840 will be the chrome/silver knob seals, so that is just a personal preference. Also, While I am at it, I just go ahead and replace the bushing with a bearing (BNT 4187) which are also currently out of stock. However, you can get bearings from a lot of places that will work. Bearing size 4x7x2.5

New Rod Testing?
Well, let's see. From my observations in Bass Pro, Cabelas, etc. You can try the following. The good ol shake it like a fencing sword technique seems to be a favorite amongst many a fishermen. Of course there is also the bend in against the ground while trying to see just how far it will bend before you hear a cracking noise. One of my favorites to see is the one where one guy holds the tip while the other guy pulls up as if he is hoisting a fish. Aside from the "feel" of the reel seat and grip, there isn't much you can do in the store to get a feel for the action and power.

Another successful season
I feel like I have to share the news with you guys now days when my girls do good things. After a fairly successful summer campaign that saw us grow as a team and make strides in just about ever aspect of the game we were on to the fall. The league we played in this fall was the same one we played in last year during the fall except there were 2 new teams that joined in and both of them were supposed to be pretty good. We started off the season undefeated at 4-0 and then ran into one of the 2 new teams and lost to them 5-2 on what I would describe as a poor showing at best. We won our next 2 and then had to face off against the best team in the league who was undefeated. We could not get the bats going and they blew the game open in the top of the last inning and beat us 6-2. We won our next two and we went into the last night of league with a double header against the two teams that had beat us. We knew the best we could do at this point was second in the league, but we were going in to win. My girls played their butts off and we won 7-0 and 8-0 to end up second in the league. We still had the end of season tournament left and we practiced our butts off to make sure we were ready to go. I have no idea what my girls were doing but we lost the first game 2-1 and immediately hit the losers bracket. We won our next game and it was on to Sunday where we had a long way to go to make it back to the championship. I told my girls it was one game at a time and if we played up to our ability, we would be playing all day. I had a group of girls that stepped up and was ready for the challenge. We won five games in a row and came back from the losers back to win the championship. I am so proud of this group of girls and their ability to overcome adversity and battle all day to achieve a goal. I tell my girls all the time that as long as they are giving it all they have, that is all I will ever ask of them and when they are all giving it 100%, great things will happen.

Looking for a new pitchin rod...
The Expride will be a little north of $175, the only other rod I have used that would fall into that price range would be a 7'2 H Zodias, which was exactly what I used before I got my Expride.

Looking for a new pitchin rod...
I have a 70 Curado and a 70 Scorpion, both would work well for that technique. I prefer the looks of the Scorpion though. The 7'2 H would get my vote then.

Looking for a new pitchin rod...
Shimano Expride 7'2 H or Expride 7'3 XH depending on the cover.

Poison Adrena 1610M vs. 1610MGA
I think the 6'10 Poison Adrena is the glass rod.

Expride A vs 20 Zodias
I have the Expride in the following - 6'6 M, 6'8 MH, 7'2 MH, 7'2 H and 7'3 XH and I have 2 of the new Zodias rods, both in 7' MH. If I were to compare the 7'2 MH Expride to the new Zodias, I would give the Expride the nod in almost every category aside from maybe the butt section of the Zodias with the monocoque handle. The Expride feels far more sensitive in my hands. That being said, I prefer the new Zodias over my 6'8 MH Expride for moving baits. It may be that the Expride is not as powerful during the retrieve as the Zodias when throwing a 1/2 oz jackhammer, but the Zodias also feels better casting the lure. I am still trying to decide if I can remove the hook hanger on the new Zodias and make it look good. I absolutely hate where it is located.

Scorpion Reels
Sorry it has taken me so long to reply. I have not tried it down to that low, but I am guessing it would handle it well. I have used it for 3/16 and it did just fine.

Oklahoma Lake Suggestion
I've spent more than my fair share of time on Konawa and quite a bit on Arbuckle, although I have had a lot more success on Konawa. I like to fish skinny water and there just isn't a lot of fish-able structure on Arbuckle in shallow water. I have NEVER fished Thunderbird, mainly for the reasons that you mentioned, I have always heard it is tough. I might actually sneak down to Arbuckle tomorrow and see if I can't find a smallmouth or two.

Bradley Hallman might disagree with you about Dirtybird.

Scorpion Reels
I have the Scorpion 70 and the Scorpion MGL (150). The MGL is a fabulous reel and I love mine. I use the 70 for pitching jigs and soft plastics, and it is a great reel for that.
