Best Braided Line
I use Sufix 832 and I like it a lot. I would love to try Smackdown but I only buy line in bulk spools so I will wait until I can get it in at least 600 yard spools.

Best fishing gloves for cold weather?
I want to add just a little bit to this thread. I recently purchased the Glacier Glove Alaska River to give them a shot. I only bought them because I found them for $11 on ebay and thought I would give them a shot. Today was the first day I got to try them. It was 36 degrees when I got on the water and a slight breeze. These gloves were way better than I thought they would be. They were warm and when the wind did start blowing it appears as if these are going to be pretty well windproof. The palm is a neoprene material that I was worried about getting wet and being slick but it is not that way at all. They feel great and dry very quickly after handling a fish. I will have to put these through the paces more, but after one outing, I would give these a slight edge over the FM.

First day of Thanksgiving break and it might be the only day where the weather would cooperate enough for me to go so I took full advantage of it. Started out cold, 36 degrees with a light wind. By about 10 it was blowing about 10-20 at times and made the fishing tough. I did manage to get a couple good ones though so all was not lost. Not bad for a couple late November fish. First one was 3-9 and the second was 3-14. Sure thought it was 4, but needed a couple more shad. LOL

Lucky Craft Wander
Anyone have any experience with the Lucky Craft wander? I have been looking at them and I would like to try them out but there is no sense in shelling out the money for them if I am just going to grab a Vision 110 instead. LOL From what I can tell is they can run pretty shallow and have a pretty tight action if you slow roll it and it will "hunt" if you fish it like a JB. Trying to decide between a few of those or a few more 110's. I figured you guys might have tried them out.

Best fishing gloves for cold weather?
Sorry, I just saw this. I wear M/L hunting gloves but I went with the S/M in the FM because I figured I would much rather them be too snug as opposed to too loose. I made the right choice as I don't find them to be too tight at all.

These people are unbelievable
Same thing here, except mine was here yesterday, they must know I am a Sooner fan and need something to do during football season. I have been VERY happy with every reel (20 +) that I have bought from them.

I found this one on the auction site and I am thinking about trying it out.

MEGA Live has been "officially" announced
I like my M360 and it really fits my style of fishing. I'm not sure the LIVE would help me much at all. I look for structure more than I do actual fish. I will probably get it just to try it, but I am new to all this "imaging" so I need all the advantages I can get. LOL

$1,499 is what it says it will be. I was expecting more, but with no "black box" and just plug and play I guess it could be that low.

Firetiger bladed jigs...
I have thought about this subject. I love to throw a SPRO lil john in Old Firetiger and I was wondering why no one makes a chart/black or yellow/black skirt. I think they would work well.

- Oklahoma Lake Suggestion
If it were me, I would find a lake that you like and learn it. I have a lake (Longmire) that is about 7 miles from my house. I started fishing it back in May pretty hard and have been fairly successful there. It doesn't have a ton of fish, but it has quality fish in it. It is only about 955 acres so it is pretty small but it doesn't see a lot of pressure. I fished Konawa a lot back in March and April and had a lot of success there. This spring I plan to stay close and try to figure this lake out.- Oklahoma Lake Suggestion
Okemah or Eufaula would be my choices. While Eufaula is not a smaller lake there are plenty of places to put in and stay out of the big water. Okemah is a small lake and the fishing can be good there. Last time I was there was in the Spring and there was a LOT of grass already on the surface back then. I don't know what it is like now. You can go to the dam and put the TM down and fish that entire west bank going back south and you are bound to catch a few there. I might be heading that way next week if the weather cooperates.- spinning rod for bigger baits
Sorry, that's my fault. I always assume people are talking about Bass Fishing since this is Bass Resource and in the Bass Fishing section. I don't have to deal with those "other species" so I don't really think about them when choosing Bass Fishing gear. If I were targeting salmon or steelhead then I guess I could see the need for a much larger rod and reel, but for the average 2 lb Bass I failed to see the need.- Non Sponsored Jersey Logos?
I haven't done it, but I am thinking I could make some extra money by doing so. I would guess Megabass, Spro, Costa, Minn Kota, etc. would throw money at me after watching me fish. Please sir, how much will it cost us to have our names removed from your jersey.- Latest Catch Pics Thread
Snuck out for about 2 hours at lunch today. After a 25 min idle to the back part of the creek I was able to fish about an hour. Only one to show for it, 3-02- Don't let the bait monkey get ya, 2020 edition
Close, the Pampas grass is all mine- How often to retie braid
I retie often, and more than likely, not often enough. I would bet that of all the fish I have ever lost from a line failure, 99% would be because of a bad knot or the line near the knot was bad. I still struggle to this day with not taking the time to retie more often.- Don't let the bait monkey get ya, 2020 edition
- Mega 360
I was able to get out on the water today for a couple hours and here are my first impressions. First with the Mega 360. I launched and pulled over to some timber and power poled down to play with the settings and get a feel for how things looked with different color palettes, range, sensitivity, etc. After messing around with it for a bit I figured I would try to fish till dark. I had took note of some structure back when the lake was low so I wanted to pull up on it and see if I could cast to it by seeing it on my 360. As soon as I saw it I put the power poles down and grabbed a squarebill. I threw where I thought the brush was based off the image on the 360 and second cast I caught one. I thought "no freaking way", this can't be this easy. Well, I can tell you, IT'S NOT!!! I fished another hour or so and didn't get a bite, LOL. I spent a lot of time looking at the screen and trying to figure out what different objects were and exactly where they were in relation to the boat. I think this is a tool that I will get a lot of use out of but it will take some time to learn how to use it to make it worth having. I will say, it isn't near as easy as most of these You Tube videos make it seem. Overall, very happy my first trip out with it. Now the Ultrex. I had no idea what I was missing out on by using that Terrova this whole time. Don't get me wrong, it did the job and I probably wouldn't have caught any more fish had I had an Ultrex, but this is a whole different ballgame. The responsiveness is not even close. I only had it on 5 or 6 and the first time I put my foot on the pedal to turn it I almost threw myself out of the boat. You literally can just touch the pedal and it moves. The Terrova was a stiff press to get it to move. The only thing I can tell will take some getting used to is the buttons for the constant on and the auto pilot are sort of hard to reach in the tray, but it is just something different. I was VERY happy with the way it handled and look forward to using it. I think these two items are going to make fishing a lot more enjoyable for me. I don't know one way or the other if they will help me catch more fish, but they can't hurt.- spinning rod for bigger baits
