  1. Honestly, I would have lost my mind. But then again - my rods, are my rods.
  2. Braid: Suffix 832 Floro: Seaguar Invisx Mono: Suffix Siege
  3. You can use a small bilge pump
  4. Try Netbait T-Mac's, cheap and u get like 20 per pack
  5. Hooked into a deer carcass with a spoon fishing for pike.
  6. Does it almost feel like you have sand in your eyes? If so you mind have a sunburn on your eyes. Ie. Mild welders flash
  7. Just got an answer from Abu Garcia, Palm plate is 3x10x4 and spool is 5x11x4
  8. Both sizes, spool bearing and the palm plate/tension knob plate. Edit - Suppose to say Revo 3's, so the S, SX, STX and Winch all together
  9. Awesome deal!! You can always take the blade off and boom you gotta swim jig too!.
  10. Someone posted the Hedgehog studios webpage and I took a look around and found micro spools. What are the benefits of using them.
  11. $499, is a steep price tag for a reel, what kind of finesse applications would it excel at over a good spinning reel set up, and what kind of rod would be good for it.
  12. I'm boycotting Abu Garcia, i'm sticking to higher end Daiwa now
  13. Yep, put a little oil on those rubber parts that the spool ends sit in
  14. So I took the side plate bearing, Tension cap bearing and took the whole spool from one of my other winches and switched them into this one I'm having problems with, still no change
  15. Still nothing with copious amounts of oil, but like Aavery said the original sound was from me not engaging the thumb bar all the way, but the dampened "zzzz" from the reel started happening on the cast after the one where I didn't engage the thumb bar.
  16. So I just re oiled the bearings, 2 times still getting that wooshing, 3 times its still happening. The best way I can explain it is you know the "zzzzzzzz" sound you get when you cast, instead of that now its almost like a dampened "zzzzz"
  17. When you pressed the thumb lever to disengage the spool you did not get it completely depressed, the screeching you heard was the pinon gear bouncing and rubbing against the pin in the spool shaft until the spool slowed enough for the pinion to re engage. I think that's what exactly happened, I feel like a fool now lol - I went outside and did that and it had the exact same noise from last night.
  18. I noticed that I gained about 10 feet casting distance, would that be a result of no lube on the bearing restricting the bb's from moving?
  19. Ya, I'm honestly thinking about dumping these and switching to Daiwa, thanks for the lube advice, gonna try that now - I cleaned her all up yesterday but only added one drop and ya nothing changed.
  20. Like a cobalt blue
  21. Best color for a rod IMO are the St Croix LTBs
  22. So I went out today for 4 hours of fishing. Let say it was one of the best days I've ever had on the water, 16 SMB and 6 pike, not to mention the weather was a little hazy but the water was so calm it looked like it was made out of glass. That's the good part. Now the fun begins, I was casting with no problems getting a country mile with every cast and all of a sudden SKREEEECH and Grind, I quickly reel in and cast out again no Skreech but when I cast now instead of the zzzzzz sound you get its a mix of zzzz and a wooshing sound, I'm pretty sure I blew a bearing. I keep fishing and all of a sudden I come to a grinding halt I smashed into a huge boulder with my trolling motor and ripped the prop right off... I figure by this point I'm done and go back. I park my boat beside the dock so I can get my trailer. As I pull in I notice my boat is about 25 feet away from land (Ugh, I forgot to tie it off) I swim out and get my boat back to shore. As I'm walking out of the water I slice my foot open on a zebra muscle. I start fuming, cursing and yelling random gibberish (Thank god no one was around lol) I finally come to my senses get the boat on the trailer strap it up and drive away. As a final kick in the junk I go to have a smoke and realize I didn't take them out of my pocket and they are soaked... Anyone got similar stories? Lol I need a laugh right about now.
  23. On the spool shaft itself there is a bearing, but there is a small bar that goes through it. I cant figure out how to remove it to get the bearing off, any ideas?
  24. Just got home, gonna gut her and give her a detailed cleaning and lubing - More to follow.
  25. Its coming from the gear box side of the reel.
