It depends on what youre going to use the S or the SX for, if ur gonna cast crankbaits or jerkbaits get the S because of the centrifugal braking. If ur going to Flip/Pitch/Punch get the SX for the Magnetic brakes.

When it comes to what type of lure/bait you buy? Myself... Its squarebills, I cant get enough of them. I probably have like 100+ in every color imaginable, but every time I go to BPS or whatever I just have to buy some kind of squarebill.
