Best Way To Get Rid Of Line Twist?
Use braid. I like 20# Power Pro. Good to use from shore as you can cast further and you wont lose as many lures that snag up. You wont need a leader unless your water is very clear. Also always shut the bail by hand and not by cranking the reel. Never reel if your drag is pulling.

Homemade Chatterbaits
Nice. And notice how he bent the lip down. You get alot more vibration like that.

Trolling Motor Tray Help Needed!
Want me to measure the depth of my comfort troll? Or I would think that info is on their site.

Hook Help!
Since you really will want to fish them slow and around docks, bruch, etc, I reccomend the weedless Gammy hooks in 2/0 for a 5" Senko or 1/0 for a 4". Dont be afraid to throw or skip back where other people wont.

Are Hard Baits Right For Me?
I would definitely try shallow squarebill cranks as well as spinnerbaits and Chatterbiats.

Homemade Chatterbaits
If you use a split ring, you must use an Arkie jig with the flat (horizontal) eye. I use the heads with the open eye that you crimp shut with pliers. I think they were from Barlows. They blade clacks on the head better with these.

Senko
Fish it wacky and shallow in the spring around brush, docks, overhanging trees, rip rap etc. You will kill them and it will give you confidence in it.

Weird Jighead I Found
Oh yeah. I remember the one with the plastig cap that snapped on. I'm thinking those were Blue Fox maybe?

Weird Jighead I Found
Was there any advantage to this or just something different. I guess it might fall a lil flatter with the rear weighting.

Rapala Scatter Raps
Its not a gimick. It is proven (especially in open water) that an erratic "hunting" action in a crank triggers strikes. Thats why people pay $20+ for the old Pre-Rapala Wiggle Warts.

Rapala Scatter Raps
I also like them ALOT. Caught alot of fish for me last year. I am hard on cranks and constantly crash them into docks. Never had a lip fail. I like the crank model in Bluegill. Dont troll or reel to fast.

Livingston Lures...
Touch both hooks at same time to activate. The chirps are VERY faint. I could barely hear them when held to my ear. The traditional rattles inside totally drown them out. I think they should have put stationary weights and not rattles along with the electronic chirp. Maybe they tried that and it was not as effective. It is a solid quality made bait. But for $12 you can get two or three of a similar lure without the electronics. I belive a DT10 would have caught the same fish the Livingston did.

I had this one and was wondering what it was. Looks just like yours. Has a weight ball in lip.

Lipless Cranks In Deeper Water
I fish it deep like a blade bait. Cast, let it sink to bottom. Lift rod and follow lure back to bottom on semi slack line. A slow lift where you can just feel the lure vibrate is good in cool water. A sharp snap get them in warmer water. I prefer straight braid as I feel the bait better, has no stretch, amd I can free up a snagged lure easier.

What To Throw In 40-45 Degree Water?
Water has come up to that temp in Va. Bass were in a bout 15' water still. Rattle trap and Blade bait worked, as well as Carolina rig.

Feeling The Bottom Finesse Tube Fishing
Hard to get a 1/8 oz bait down with floating braid. Try a heavier weight as said.

Kvd Square Bills Versus Rapala Crankin Raps (Crr-5)
All the major brands have squarebills that are fairly similar and catch fish. When the squarebill discussion comes I I always reccomend a unique one. The Baker Lure Suspending Squarebill. No other company that I know of makes one that suspends. I started using them last summer and got viscious hits on the pause. We all know how well suspending jerks work in the early spring so I cant wait to try the Bakers this year.
