  1. Havent been down there yet. I plan on getting down there sometime in Apirl or May. I want one of those Shearon Harris Lunkers. Hopefully i can make it over there when they are on the bed. We have a few members in the Raleigh/ wake county area. Maybe somone can be more helpful.
  2. Theres a G.Loomis Mossyback in the Flea Market. 7'1"Heavy. For $120.00
  3. Sweet!! Good job man!
  4. Powell Endurance 795 Umbrella rig rod 169.00. Rated for 1/2 -3oz. I own several powell rods but i dont have a swimbait/ a rig rod. Im in same boat as you. Ive been using a Powell flipping stick for a rigs and bbZ1's Im actually going to order this rod in a couple weeks. Ive been satisfied with every powell i own. They are terrific rods.
  5. Whats your budget and are you set on getting a Shimano or Loomis? Or are you open to other rods that may not be on sale?
  6. Veritas, mojo bass, compre. For the budget u have, you cant really go wrong. Besides, if your veritas does break. Abu/ pure fishing will take good care of you. I had one break, but i must have gotten a lemon. The replacement has been a back up jerkbait rod over the winter and has hauled several fish with no prob.
  7. Tthe first one that bent on me, i counted it as a fluke. Then i had two more on another trip. One bent out and one broke. I was using a 7M/mod and 14lbthe floro so its not like i over powered the hook.
  8. Are you planning on makkng the trip with us
  9. II meant that 4 of 5 out of every one ive used doesnt run true..or straight.. they got good action,, but i can see what you mean. Once i change out the hooks, the 2.5 in perch is a killer. I dont mind if it runs left/right when im in open water, but i want more control when im casting around the stuff thats gonna gett them hung up. Having a lure that runs true helps /maintain that control.
  10. Hope you feel better soon.
  11. My wife saw that coming too. I wanted to buy one when the NRX came out. I was even willing to sell some gear to do it. My wife said NO. I said why not, she said because if you buy one 500 dollar Loomis, you will want more. ....i still dont have a Loomis. Lol
  12. Franco, i dont doubt it one bit. I said it yesterday that if the weather/front is a factor IKE and A MART are the guys to watch! Ott is a rising star and will be a threat for a long time. Ive seen a couple videos of Pete, he seems like a likeable guy. For that sake, i hope he does well too.
  13. Haha. Ive seen the photo of your gear. THE VAMPIRE BAIT MONKEY BIT YOU A LONG TIME AGO!! I can see how you have taken a rest!! Have fun at the Expo. Im am so jealous of yyou guys!!
  14. Our local tackle shop actaully sells alot of Veritas and Villians. I have heard too many horror stories about the guides. I have a veritas that i actually broke the tip on durring its first out and abu replaced it. But the guides issue and breakages is what scared me away from ever looking at the villains. Im too scared to buy them but a buddy of mine loves them. They actually fish well, but but im not try to chase ghosts.
  15. x2 on the yum dinger. 3bucks at walmart. Good lures.
  16. Will someone change this one to a poll? Id like to see the exact numbers..it would be interesting.
  17. We told you so! Im excited for you! Now go take the lame rod to be repaired and you will have an extra rod for Flippin, football jigs, or c rigs, ect.. good stuff man. Now whatcha gonna do for a reel for the extra rod?
  18. I voted Lews. Thats is purely based on value of what I get for MY dollars. The build one heck of a reel at an incredible price. I feel that the Lews TP and the Lews Team Speed Spool are the best values or "bang for your buck" Does this mean i dont own or wont use other reels. Absolutely not. Its probably because ive owned most of the major brands. There are some other reels that i LOVE. Daiwa and Shimano make darn good reels. If i was made out of money im sure I would have a few tricked out Calcuttas, Cores, Pixys, and Zillions. But im not so im going for the best reel (IMO) for my money...Lews.

My wife hates the smell of jjs on my hands. She will literally hand me some Dawn soap and make me wash my hands at the water hose outside when i come in the house. My wife is SUPER laid back, but not when in comes to that stuff. The crazy thing is, its not like i get it on my hands when i dip baits. It just comes from handling the bait and re rigging the bait after a snag or a fish.
  20. If you can afford it, grab it! I would.
  21. Dinky, you lucky dawg. Man i am so jealous. Even tho it is miserable weather and conditions, i bet you are learning alot. Wish I was there.
  22. All of them look good. I like the darker one.
