  1. Honestly, the only thing i'd switch is that god awful T shirt you're wearing.... GO HEELS!!
  2. i read Wayne's article from another bass fishing site on his method and using the heat shrink tubing. I much prefer his method over the perpendicular, especially if fishing around any type of cover and MOST especially if skipping the worms under the docks.
  3. very nice fish! get your pocketbook ready if you get bit with the swimbait bug!!!
  4. Thinking about getting a new spool for one of my curado 51e's, but i'm a bit clueless on the whole thing. Would a Yumeya 32MM fit my 51e and if so, are any other parts or tools required to swap them out? If not, can you tell me what size I need to look at? Thanks for any help you can offer!
  5. i'm always holding them vertically when holding the jaw. I only imagine it's less stress on them than holding them more horizontally by the jaw.
  6. that is a VERY nice bass there man!!
  7. nicely done there, old dog with new tricks!
  8. that's crazy all those dead fish! welcome aboard though, plenty of us out there in a kayak chasing the mean greens!
  9. very nice, that one fish absolutely choked it!!!
  10. completely understand that, it cost more than any of my rods so i too would want it as an every day rod! I'm sure it will all work out in the end!
  11. i would imagine this argument right here negates their ability to sell access to it in the future: "The landowners contend the waterway is too small and remote to fall under the common-law right of navigation."
  12. They have one of, if not the best Customer Service teams in terms of rod companies that i've dealt with. I think they offered you a pretty fair deal considering they did not have to do anything at all. I've bought a number of rods sight unseen and have sold quite a few of them (Megabass casting rod on here this morning as a matter of fact, just too heavy for my style of fishing). It sucks to do it, but you have to accept the depreciation as part of the game if you buy them without holding them first. Some days you really have to take a step back, put it all in perspective, and be grateful that these first world problems are what you are dealing with!
  13. haven't fished the X, but did pick it up in the store. I had an avid and traded it with a guy here on the boards. after i had that X in hand, i almost gave them another chance. it felt SOOOOOOOOOOO much more balanced in hand than the regular.
  14. this is a great suggestion and will help you "keep it simple stupid"!
  15. i can, but i much prefer using left handed reels. i started out right handed and then once i tried a lefty i didn't want to go back. i sold off all my RH reels and transitioned over to LH over time. the real question is can you effectively cast the rod with both hands? my answer was no. i always had to switch the rod over to my other hand after making the cast when using RH reels.
  16. i tried them both and quickly, very quickly, went back to the braid + leader. the zero line memory is perfect for me, and the light rod i use could use the no stretch help from the braid on the hooksets. with line, i stick to the thought of "if ain't broke, don't fix it" so i'd stick with braid.
  17. I'd fish with whatever the minimum requirements are for the tournament, who cares what somebody might think.... Then I'd grin the whole ride home if i cashed a check!
  18. Someone has got to figure out how in the world you stop these ridiculous frivolous lawsuits in the first place, let alone allow them to appeal the court's decision!
  19. congrats for both of you to get out there and give it a try! anybody in a kayak knows that too much wind just flat out sucks! i'd say the experience was one you'll remember and if you enjoyed it enough, you'll do it again!
  20. do you really need a Raider selfie?
  21. oh wow very nice! i picked with my heart, not head. i'm too much of a heels fan to pick anybody else to win it!
  22. that's a solid method.... i'm going to change the PB number on my profile right now!
  23. one thing that really helped on my old kayak was i had a small triangular piece of outdoor carpet i would slide up under my bungees. Really helped him get a good grip which kept his balance, without the carpet he was in the water more than he was out! You can actually see that carpet in the one pic with that hog! Really wish i had a setup like you or Jeff's boat, my dog wouldn't know what to do with himself if he had that much room to roam around!
