Super Spook Jr question
i wanna say size 4 hooks. and i don't quite know how to explain the walk the dog technique, but i will say that the spook and spook jr are the easiest to do it on in my opinion. one thing that does make it harder for me is using too big of line. the spook jr seems to walk much better for me on the lightest line i can get away with. Edit: added link to heddon. Definitely #4 hooks http://www.heddonlures.com/product/super-spook-jr-3/

Plug knocker storage
i used the same orange extension cord holder, but that could be a pain at times. i bought a cheapo kite string holder that i now use for my anchor line (550 paracord) and it works surprisingly well. it spins freely from the handle so that you can essentially "crank" it back up. cannot for the life of me remember where i found it though. looks about like this:

The new Strike King Swimbait
yeah in that pic it looks like the ribs are facing "forward" or towards the head of the bait. Perhaps that gives it a little more vibration or water disturbance or whatever the term would be.

beginner trout
lot of varying opinions on the topic.... i grew up trout fishing in western NC and the laurel bushes don't allow for much of anything over 5 feet long. but now out on the hooch, you might want a longer rod if you're wading or jumping out on the rocks. that longer rod would let you sling some casts out further than the shorty will. any idea what kind of lures or bait you're thinking about fishing with? i swear that's probably the same one i bought at BPS way back when and I loved that rod.... until one day i didn't put my tailgate up after fishing and the rod wasn't there when i got home.... luckily i had taken the reel off when i was packing it out from the campsite so i still have that reel, which is now on a 5' berkley amp UL (awful looking hideous green colors on the rod, but it's got some good action on it!)

What's your favorite spinning reel line?
maybe try out a good copolymer like yo zuri hybrid. I've never used the ultra soft that is marketed for spinning reels, but have heard great things about it. I've used 6# yozuri on my ultralight reel with success. it's very strong for it's # rating too.

i will give them credit though, there's a lot of good info on GA's page.... i think somehow this particular stretch of the chattahoochee is governed under the national park service.

Drop Shot Reel
if my wife only cried once..... i hear it about every time she comes into the garage!!! i have a 30 size pflueger supreme on my rod i use for drop shot and ned rig, but it could be smaller. i think the 25 size would be a better option honestly, but work with what you got right?

Plug knocker storage
i'm sure it depends on which one you get, but i had some fancy pants Irwin tools ones that i got for free that would let out with the pressure. basically same principle as this one, which is the one i have (although i admit i hardly ever use the thing) http://www.amazon.com/dp/B007R8UJIQ/?tag=googhydr-20&hvadid=78731029399&hvpos=1o1&hvexid=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=11670422182870992829&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=b&hvdev=c&ref=pd_sl_6vqxkun3ue_b

Which kayak to buy?
i'll be honest, i don't think you'll regret getting either of them.... but man that ATAK looks so sweet with the electronics console. i love my ride 135 and they have pretty solid customer service as well.

New to kayaks help
i'd take J Francho's advice and spend some time to find out what you like first. $600 or $900 or $1200 are all big purchases to me, i'd by taking the time to research and buy it once... craigslist is a good place, but they seem to go quick so check there often. BPS Ascend kayaks are in your range and are pretty solid kayaks for the money.

Plug knocker storage
dog leash is a good idea.... i would also suggest a chalk line box, heavy enough cord on it and often times they're available in 100' and you can reel it back....

Game-plan Commitment?
i've fished horton a couple times and only seemed to catch stragglers there... never got on a good bite at all. i usually start with a plan based on water temps, time of year, etc. once i get a bite or two i stick with that bait and start to vary retrieves and such until it either works better or worse... the changing baits all the time is really counterproductive for me.

Saltwater Roll Call!
i'll tell you what man, hooking that first mahi and then seeing the school just flock to it is something i will NEVER forget! i'm a saltwater idiot, just never fished the salt growing up so that was just a sight i'd never seen. and the color on those fish is otherworldly! i'd have had to change my underwear if i hooked that one in your pic!
