Daiwa Lexa 100 Input Needed
I said it once and I also said I'd pick one up if I find a used one for around $70. It's not a $200 reel imo. That'd be a used zillion. I'm not going to pay $109 for it when for $24 more I can get another TP. Which is certainly a $200 reel and personally it out shines some $300 reels. Gathered from everything I've read and heard plus I personally own a handful of them. The daiwa is heavier, larger, lacks spool bearings amongst other things mentioned here. I'm not throwing the idea of getting one out but I'm not going to buy it at full price. To me it honestly seems like a glorified bps pq. I could be wrong too. I plan on purchasing some Daiwa reels and was hoping the lexa would fit the bill but it seems like I'll have to get into their jdm stuff to be able to get what I'm looking for. Money doesn't concern me when it comes to good equipment. I'll spend extra all day long to get twice the product. From what's been said by other members. You have a few that only handled the reel. A few that fish them and like it but can't compare it to a TP. A few that say it doesn't compare to a TP at all. One said it out performs TP. I'm not seeing anything that stands out here except the one person who owns both. Which is what I asked in my initial post. Reviews from people with experience with both. I can get a lexa for $95 shipped so if you're a lefty PayPal me $100. I'll order one and spool it with #14 fluoro and fish it a few times. If I like it I'll send you a refund. If I don't you'll receive a new lexa spooled with fluoro for $100.

Very possible about the line. I'm not interested in anything but the 6:3:1 or 7:1:1 but that is a nice feature.

Wow Lews Bb1
Bare 3/8 jig head. 2 blue and 2 white on. Spool set so the bait falls smoothly and spool makes a 1/2 turn when it hits the floor. Thumb it.

Wow Lews Bb1
I think the only technology is the 6 pin smart plus brake system. It's a very nice reel but just a tad under their higher level stuff. I'd but more Tp's if the price was the same but it's about $40-50 more so for a $110-130 reel it'll be hard to beat. I can launch a bare 3/8 jig head with no hook.

Wow Lews Bb1
I now own 3 along with all my Tp's and regular tournament models. At $110 I keep finding reasons to buy another

I watched a comparison video on there. It was the bb1z vs the Lexa. The Lews beat it 3/4 categories including weightless senko. He said it would of been 4/4 if he'd had a little more time probably. I'm still eying it up but now only if I find a used one around $70. It seems like a good $100 reel but not great. I wanted to get into the daiwa market but it seems like their jdm reels are really where it's at.

Great that good news. So many people do. That's why I asked.

Daiwa Lexa 100 Input Needed
I agree with 0119 in a way. Mainly seems that way with Shimano fans but not really everyone else. I've handled-bought-fished a handful of companies but never a Daiwa. Was going to buy a zillion at a local tackle shop that someone ordered and never picked up. So all I had to do was pay the stores cost but it sold already. The Lews Tp is a $300 reel with a $150 price tag on it. So I'm hard pressed to buy something for $100 that seems to have a handful of negatives about it but I'm also willing to try it out if enough people can convince me it's really worth it.

Do you own a TP hooligan? I've never had any drag issues on mine. Lexa seems like a solid reel but the majority are saying it won't compare to a TP.

Anybody Know If Powell Plans To Expand Diesel Lineup?
The owner said eventually. I had called with some questions a few months ago.

Daiwa Lexa 100 Input Needed
Yeah me too. I've seen a few of his posts pushing it pretty hard but that's about the only one. Like I said I own all Lews reels and there are 1,000 posts or more from people who love them so you can't really go wrong with a tournament pro. I know jdm Daiwa stuff has a great following. I'll probably demo 1 first before a but it.

Daiwa Lexa 100 Input Needed
What are you using it for? I'm planning on weightless senkos, flukes, wacky worms. Maybe with a small amount of weight at times. Weighted swim bait hooks, tungsten wacky weights, tungsten bullet weights 1/16- 1/4

Daiwa Lexa 100 Input Needed
Ok so I'm having a hard time pulling the trigger on a lexa 100. I've looked for reviews but there aren't many and a handful are negative. I can pick one up for $109 bnib. I can get a tournament pro for $135 which all I own is Lews reels because they are great for the $. So I know exactly what I'm getting since I already own 3 Tp's. I just have this feeling it can't be that great of a reel, especially since its $109 now. I'm thinking of demoing one from TW first. What I'm asking for is input from people who actually own this reel and own or have used a TP. What are your thoughts on the two in a head to head. Thanks in advance BR

School Me On Lew's Reels
I have 3 tournament pros 3 BB1 models 5:1:1 6:4:1 7:1:1 2 tournanent speed spools For what you get vs what you pay the Lews are hard to beat. Especially the tp and bb1. I'd imagine that goes for the better models also. I haven't used them bc I'm a lefty. I'd steer clear of the regular speed spool, tournament mg and the laser mg. I think there are better options in the price range.

Lew's Discount?
Tell me what 10 you want and I'll see what I can do for you. Also does your Powell discount include the Diesel?

Lews Tournament Speed Spool
Sounds like you got it at their cost. The tackle store at the lake I fish is where I order all of my Lews reels from. He charges me about $10 over cost plus Md taxes. I paid $90 plus tax for my tournament. My BB1's were $110 for the 7:1 and $100 for the 5:1 My TP's were $140

Knot Tying Bloopers
I was just in a hurry so I could still have time to eat. Well that didn't work though. This one is the 5:1:1 but I have the 6:4:1 and 7:1:1 too. Lmk when you're ready. I have a guy who will do $110 shipped on the 6:4 or 7:1 until his supply runs out.
