Help Simplify What Techniques For Which Rod
That really kinda depends on you. Are you good with different knots or willing to learn and do you mind fishing with leaders? Simple answer. This is my outlook. spinnerbaits = mono it floats and is cheap but some prefer fluoro. soft platics = fluoro it sinks and has more sensitivity jig and frog = braid it floats,it's strong and doesn't stretch. Fishing heavy cover you need to get them out fast. topwater = mono it floats and is cheap but some use braid too. More complex answer. This is my outlook. spinnerbaits = braid with a mono leader soft platics = fluoro it sinks and has more sensitivity jig and frog = braid it floats,it's strong and doesn't stretch. Fishing heavy cover you need to get them out fast. topwater = braid with a mono leader If it was me I'd have braid on one of the MH rods and use a mono or fluoro leader depending on the situation. That heavy rod may be too much in some cases. I have the bucoo micro in their pitchin' stick 6'10 heavy and it's mainly my jig rod but if the cover isn't really thick it's overkill. For instance when I throw swim jigs. The water is more open and I don't need that strong of a rod so I use one of my other MH rods.

Why Do Bass Resource Videos Never Play
It opened in IE fine but in Chrome it doesn't ever load. I'll have to check my firewall settings I guess.

Why Do Bass Resource Videos Never Play
Every time I hit play that darn thing just spins and never plays for me. Is it because I use chrome?

- Question For Rod Builders - Customizing Grips
Thanks for the tip slammerhead. I unwrapped it today and it slimmed it down. Only issue was it left the spiral pattern of the tape on the grip but I smoothed it out fairly well using a spoon 'old trick I know from messing with car interiors' and it's alright now. Still can feel it a tad bit but once I grip the rod where I normally do it's barely noticeable. Either way it's a lot more comfortable than it was and I'll actually use it now. Thanks again.- Drop Shot Rod Actions
Well not all rods are the same so fast and extra fast are just labels really. There is no standard for this set in the fishing world. All manufactures can be different. Ones extra fast may be another's fast. Here is something that may help you out. X-Fast: Upper 20% flexes Fast: Upper 30% flexes Med-Fast: Upper 35% flexes Mod-Fast: Upper 40% flexes Moderate: Middle flex point Slow: Flex progressive from tip to butt- Question For Rod Builders - Customizing Grips
I had already wrapped it. I then took some of that fabric athletes tape and went back over it since you can really pull on that stuff and it won't tear or stretch. Should compress it pretty good. I have it over the heater vent now. I'll rotate it every 15 minutes or so and then take it off. . Haha with a towel. I have more beard then hair.- Question For Rod Builders - Customizing Grips
I'll have to give that a try. I don't have a hair dryer so I'll have to locate one. Wonder if setting over the heater vent might work.- Drop Shot Rod Actions
Yeah I don't drop shot often but will be using it more this season since I bought a boat. That may have been why he suggested the diesel over a more technique specific rod but I don't know. I'm a firm believer in the fisherman and technique. You can buy the most expensive golf clubs made but if you suck at golf they won't help. You still suck at golf.- Owner Hyper Welded Quick Snaps
I'd say that would be fine.- Owner Hyper Welded Quick Snaps

I'm using a Powell Diesel 6'10 M/XF rod for my drop shot. I bought 2 so one will be for the drop shot and the other for shaky/wacky apps. Powell makes a drop shot specific rod but I called and spoke with the owner Keith and he said this would work great for it. This just tells me I don't need something marked 'drop shot' on the rod for it to work well. Just like others have already mentioned. I mean why would he not try to push the more expensive rod on me? He was just being honest. It's not needed.- Swivel Instead Of Leader Knot?
+1 for the Alberto knot. Super simple to tie. I use #50 power pro with a 12 or 15lb sunline sniper fc leader. Goes right through my micro guides.- You Know You're A Die-Hard Bass Fisherman When....
It was abnormally warm here today so I stood outside in my driveway pitching to the edge of a snow pile for an hour.- Cleaning Your Reels.....
No problem. Just take your time and be patient. Set your parts out in order and pay attention to the direction some of the smaller stuff goes in. I took pics with my phone of some things. If you get fed up,walk away for a few minutes. The first time I did it was on a new reel I'd just got. They are typically over greased from the factory. I took the same reel apart and back together probably 8-10 times. I kept putting this little spacer/sleeve in backwards 'unaware at the time' and when I tightened the drag star down the reel wouldn't free spin. Thought I broke a brand new reel I never even got to fish with yet but I got it. It is worth learning to do it yourself to me. Cheapest I've found is $16 per reel. I'd be looking at $96 plus shipping every year.- Reel Cleaning In Nc

It's hard when they are less then $2 a bag.- Cleaning Your Reels.....
I used these 2 videos when I did my first one. He shows you about everything you'll need to know. I also lay out a piece of cardboard and set my parts down in order as they are removed. So then you can just reverse the process when you put it back together. Worst case scenario you'll end up with some extra parts and you send it to someone and they will fix it. At least you will have the chance to learn it yourself or realize it's not for you this way.- Scents And Attractants.
I got a few jars of smelly jelly for Xmas. Anyone use it? I know it stinks pretty bad.- Missile Baits D Bombs And Other Beaver Style Baits
That's what I normally use. I was given a few bags by a local tackle shop to try out. Before that I used the flappin' hog. I still do a good bit. It has a ton of appendages.- Missile Baits D Bombs And Other Beaver Style Baits
Yeah I've been bitten by the bait monkey the past week so I figured why not stop now and give them a try. I picked up 3 packs of each size 3-4. I typically throw the RI sweet beaver but today I got 4 bags of pit boss' on clearance. Figure 3/0 on the beaver and 4/0 on the boss.- Missile Baits D Bombs And Other Beaver Style Baits
Anyone throwing these on the Gamakatsu heavy cover worm hooks in 3/0 or 4/0?- Duplicating Your Favorite Equipment
