  1. So when I came home for lunch my new bb1 had been delivered. So I hurried and mounted it up and then went to spool it real quick before I had to go back to work. Well it ended up being one of those Homer Simpson D'oh! moments. My cranking rod has micro guides on it. I fill 1/2 with 12# big game and then tie my Albright knot. As I'm spooling the knot gets stuck. I realize I missed one guide hole and had actually feed it through the tiny tiny hole in the foot of the guide. Yeah I know how the heck. So I cut and re tie my knot. I end up cutting the mainline and not the tag once finished. Cut and retie. I'm trimming the tag and end up getting the mainline again. Cut retie. Finally spool up and there's not as much left on the spool as I thought. Cut that off and throw away. Retie my knot and cut the mainline again. Cut retie. Finally spool up and soak with kvd l&l. A knot I've tied so many times gave me a big headache today. Don't rush things. Haha
  2. I know the guy who has ours. He knows me by name and let's me go in the back and pick out jig heads or make a few skirts if needed but other then that he's pricey. It makes it hard to support a small local business.
  3. My local tackle shop isn't like that at all. His mark up is crazy on most items.
  4. My dad worked on a barge and drove the pylons for piers all over the Chesapeake Bay. So I've been around water my whole life. I've seen pictures of me in a diaper fishing and crabbing. I'd say the first memories that I have are around 5yrs old. Wish I actually would of got to fish with my dad as I was older.
  5. I picked up 3 Lews BB1's and 3 Powell Diesel's. 2 6'10 spinning and a 7'6 casting plus a 6'6 Falcon Bucoo micro casting rod.
  6. Bad picture of it but here's my LMB chasing a spinnerbait on my foot. It's not actually finished yet. My boss' appointment showed up while he was tattooing me so it had to be cut short. I think I'm going to add the words Kickin' Bass arched above my toes. You'd have to know me to find it as funny as I do. I have a pencil on my other foot. Why you ask........... because I have a lead foot.

Cavitron 3/8 in ghost minnow with gold blade and black with black blade or gold blade. Will pick up a few 1/4 sometime here soon before April.
  8. For an all day trip. Lots of water and a Gatorade or 2. A few granola or fruit bars. 2 sandwiches or 12" hogie. 2 cans of rub. Cut in half if only going out for 4-5hrs
  9. 6 of one 1/2 dozen of the other. I used to work at a FedEx facility a long time ago. Secondly I have friends that are drivers for both companies and also loaders/unloaders for both. People don't know what's in the boxes and they get stacked up no matter what when being put on the truck so the first boxes to be delivered are right there at the drivers reach. Also when unloading the semi trailer they get pushed down rollers to their respective areas and then stacked in a wheeled box type thing. Then taken to the trucks and loaded up. I like that FedEx delivers on Saturdays and typically I always get my order a day early. I like ups though too because I know the driver and he will drop my orders off here at work so that's a plus because I don't have to wait till 7pm when I get home.
  10. Because someone was asking about where the OP got them at that price. I was letting whoever asked know that if they're interested in buying a rod that they can pick it up for even a bit cheaper.
  11. They have new Veritas for $78.99 with free shipping on eBay.
  12. Sunline sniper fc or Berkley 100% fc
  13. Being for crankbaits I'd go with a PQ for the better ratio. I went with a lews mg for a cranking reel since it was the only low ratio LH model available at the time. Now the bb1 is on the market and a much better choice IMO. I'm not biased either I have 6 Lews casting reels.
  14. 1. Sometimes but not normally. 2. My boat is only 15' so no but I always take the back anyways when fishing with a friend. I still catch more then them.
  15. They will use whatever they get paid to promote. Not saying it's garbage but I've heard a lot of gripes about the guides not being in line.
  16. Run a cheap mono backing first so you don't waste a whole spool of braid on one reel. A 150yd spool of braid let's me fill 3 reels. You can do 75/75 if you don't feel 50 is enough but for the reels I run braid on I'm not casting 50yds so it's fine. My other reels I use cheap mono backing first and then my fluoro. About 70-80yds worth. It's plenty for re ties and break offs.
  17. Couldn't agree more myself. Nice grammar.
  18. You made me think they actually made a Harlem shake video at the classic. Still an ok attempt I guess.
  19. I have 2 of the spinning rods and 1 765 casting rod. It's hard to beat 3 rods for $175. Not the lightest ever but not a tank either.
  20. I have 2 Bucoo micros and they are decent. I don't like how fat the grip is though.
  21. The past 8yrs I've worked for a tattoo studio as a professional body piercer.
  22. That's what they are selling for most places these days. $155 shipped on eBay nib. Thanks for the heads up though.
  23. Thanks roadwarrior you just made me order 4 of them.
